Chapter 17: Chapter 17: First Fans
Emily found herself smiling again when she woke up in the morning, putting away her cell phone. Matthew's words seemed to echo within her, bringing her renewed strength. Today was another important step in her career: she would prepare for a special photo shoot, a material that would be used to promote the film. Each session was an opportunity to embody the essence of her character and share with the world the intensity of "A Life of Questions."
Entering the dressing room, she noticed the team of professionals waiting for her. Makeup artists and stylists surrounded a table full of products, and the photographer, a renowned artist in the country, greeted her with a friendly smile. It was a welcoming and lively environment, with an energy that made her feel at home.
"We're going to highlight your eyes today, Emily. We want to capture that mystery of the character," said the makeup artist, as she selected shadows in shades of brown and gold.
Emily closed her eyes, allowing the team to work. The gentle touch of the brushes on her face gave her a sense of calm. As the makeup artist applied her makeup with precision, she reflected on the impact this film could have. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw her transformation: a deep and striking gaze, the reflection of a woman who carried secrets and sought answers.
"Perfect, Emily. Now, let's move on to the first pose," he said, adjusting the camera. "We want to convey the essence of your character, this search, this depth."
She posed subtly, her arms slightly crossed, her gaze focused and at the same time distant, conveying a sense of introspection. Each click of the camera was like a piece of the puzzle that revealed facets of the character to the audience. Emily gave herself over to each pose, allowing the minimalist setting around her to accentuate her expressive countenance.
After a few intense hours of shooting, the team congratulated her on her work. She was satisfied and eager to see the result of the photos, feeling that she had captured the essence of her character.
As she left the studio, Emily was met with a surprise. A small group of people were waiting at the exit. Young people, adults, and even a few children held signs and cell phones, their faces eager, with bright smiles as they watched her appear.
"Emily! I saw you on the show yesterday! You were amazing!" a young woman said, her eyes shining.
Emily smiled, feeling a lightness in her chest. She wasn't used to this kind of attention, but it was a feeling that gave her a sense of gratitude. She waved and, in a warm voice, thanked each one.
"Thank you for your kindness. It's an honor to know that I'm surrounded by people who support this project," she said, as she took pictures with some of them.
"I can't wait to see you in 'A Life of Questions'! It looks like this movie is going to be profound," an older man commented.
"You know, it really is," she replied with a smile. "I hope each of you can connect with the story as much as I did."
After saying goodbye, Emily went home, her heart warmed by the genuine support she had received.
When she got home, Emily could barely contain her euphoria. She closed the door and leaned against it, letting herself be absorbed by the emotion of the moment. Having fans waiting for her outside the studio was a distant dream that had now suddenly become reality. It was a sweet and almost surreal feeling, as if she was finally reaping the rewards of all her years of work and dedication. She took a deep breath, trying to organize her thoughts, but one name stood out in her mind: Matthew.
Without thinking twice, she walked across the living room to the couch, took off her shoes and picked up her cell phone. She knew that, of all people, Matthew would understand the depth of what she was feeling. With fingers slightly trembling with excitement, she typed a message.
Emily:
"Matthew! Today was amazing! You won't believe it… I found my first fans waiting for me outside the studio!"
She pressed send and watched the screen, her heart beating fast as she waited for a reply. Soon her phone vibrated, and Matthew's name appeared on the screen, bringing with it a comforting warmth.
Matthew:
"Emily! That's amazing! Congratulations! How did that feel?"
She smiled, her heart warming even more as she read his words. She typed enthusiastically.
Emily:
"It's indescribable! They had signs up, took pictures… and were really excited for the movie. I never thought that would happen to me. It was so… exciting."
There was a pause, and then he replied.
Matthew:
"This is just the beginning, Emily. You deserve every moment of this. I know how hard you've worked and how much this story means to you. And for everyone who sees it, it's going to be something special, too."
Emily let out a light laugh, touched by Matthew's genuine support. He always seemed to know exactly what to say to make her feel safe and confident. She decided to be honest about how much this moment meant to her.
Emily:
"Thank you, Matt. Your advice… you've always been there to motivate me."
Matthew:
"I'll be here every step of the way, Emily. Now, you have no choice but to conquer the world," he replied, adding a smiley emoji.
Emily laughed, her heart feeling light and happy. Talking to Matthew made everything more real and even more special. She couldn't wait to tell him more about the journey that was yet to come.
Emily:
"It's funny how everything changes, isn't it? A few months ago, I was just dreaming about this, and now I'm living every detail. Today was like... I don't know, a preview of what's to come, and it's surreal."
Matthew:
"It's like seeing a dream come true. You worked so hard for this, Emily. And you know, all of this... the interviews, the fans, even the pressure of being the lead... it's changing you. You're more confident, stronger."
Emily:
"You think? Sometimes I still feel like I'm out of place. But somehow it makes me want to keep going. I think seeing people's support helps, you know?"
Matthew:
"Of course it helps. You're not alone. Besides, the world needs stories like this, and protagonists like you. Someone who really cares and wants to make a difference."
Emily:
"Thanks, Matt... That means a lot. I think you can understand what I'm going through better than anyone else. Speaking of which, how was your day?"
Matthew:
"Oh, nothing as exciting as yours. Just meetings and paperwork. The routine doesn't change much, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to drop everything and do something that really excites me. Seeing you living your dream makes me think about that."
Emily:
"Funny hearing you say that. I always thought you were the kind of person who would go after it, Matt... And who knows, maybe one day you'll try something different?"
Matthew:
"Who knows? Maybe it's just a matter of time. But in the meantime, I'll be here rooting for you and following your journey, which is an adventure in itself."
Emily:
"I really hope you're there for me every step of the way. And who knows... one day we can celebrate together, maybe even on the red carpet," she added with a laughing emoji.
Matthew:
"I like that. So that's a deal: one day, you and I on the red carpet, celebrating all these accomplishments. I'm saving my tux for that occasion."
Emily:
"I'll remember this! It'll be unforgettable."
The conversation continued for a few more minutes, filled with laughter and words of encouragement.
