Chapter 58: Chapter 59: No Backing Out Once You’ve Agreed
A warm, moist sensation stirred Gu Wanzhou from her feigned slumber.
She hadn't expected this—this boldness from the boy.
And judging by his demeanor, he had no intention of stopping anytime soon.
Her delicate face flushed rapidly, heat rising as she realized what he was doing.
This boy... how could he...?
But worse yet, she was starting to feel something herself, something she couldn't quite suppress.
Unable to continue pretending to sleep, Gu Wanzhou stretched lazily, feigning a natural awakening.
Li Zhiyan sat up abruptly, flustered. But even as he adjusted his posture, his body betrayed him—he couldn't hide the evidence of his youthful vigor.
"Gu Auntie, you're awake," he said softly, cursing his raging hormones inwardly.
Youth, he thought with a grimace. It fills your head with strange ideas and drives you to impulsive actions.
"Mhm," she murmured weakly, her voice still laced with the haze of the massage.
Truthfully, Li Zhiyan's ministrations had elicited much the same response from her as the last time. This time, however, she'd done her best to restrain herself. It wouldn't do to lose her composure again.
"Gu Auntie, shall I continue?"
Looking at the boy diligently massaging her legs, Gu Wanzhou couldn't help but feel that he was taking full advantage of this opportunity to touch her under the guise of filial care.
Still, his hands moved with practiced confidence, and she couldn't deny how good it felt. From time to time, she'd let out a soft hum, though she now remained firmly awake. The thought of him sneaking another kiss on her thigh was too mortifying to risk falling asleep again.
"You're quite the drinker," she remarked, attempting to distract herself. "Auntie can barely smell the alcohol on you anymore."
"Maybe I just have a natural talent for holding my liquor," he replied with a modest chuckle.
As they chatted, the man slumped over the dining table began to stir. Yu Yunfei slowly came to, the pounding in his head a harsh reminder of his earlier defeat.
Fragments of the evening replayed in his mind like an unwelcome tide. The last thing he recalled was being outdrunk by an 18-year-old—three back-to-back shots downed without hesitation.
Rubbing his temples, he groaned. His head throbbed mercilessly, and he wondered, why am I not in Gu Wanzhou's bedroom?
Had I made it there, he thought bitterly, I could have closed the door and gotten what I wanted.
Instead, here I am, passed out at the dining table.
But then... where is Gu Wanzhou? And what about that brat?
Lifting his head, Yu Yunfei froze, his eyes locking onto a scene he would never forget.
Gu Wanzhou was lounging on the sofa, her long, graceful legs resting atop Li Zhiyan's lap. His hands were moving expertly, massaging her bare legs with an almost reverent touch.
Her stockings, which had been intact earlier, now lay discarded on the coffee table. Clearly, they had just been removed.
Yu Yunfei's hands trembled as realization dawned.
"What are you two doing?!" he roared, his voice thunderous. "Gu Wanzhou, have you no shame?!"
Pointing an accusatory finger, he spat, "He's just a child—barely out of high school! And you, at 41, have the audacity to engage in... this?"
The lingering effects of alcohol only fueled his rage, his words growing louder and more venomous.
"You're out of your mind, Yu Yunfei!" Gu Wanzhou shot back, sitting upright. "Zhiyan was just giving me a massage! Your thoughts are disgusting—he's just a child!"
Li Zhiyan, observing the escalating argument, couldn't help but feel amused.
Being considered a "child" certainly had its perks. It allowed him to do things that would otherwise seem inappropriate, all under the guise of youthful innocence.
"Gu Wanzhou, are you serious?!" Yu Yunfei sneered, his face twisting in disbelief. "Stockings off, hands roaming up and down—this is what you call a massage? Have you completely lost your sense of decency?"
Enraged, he gestured wildly.
"We're divorced, Yu Yunfei!" Gu Wanzhou snapped, her tone icy. "And for the record, I see Li Zhiyan as a son. Even if something were to happen between us, it's neither illegal nor immoral. Now get out of my house!"
Their heated exchanges brought back memories of the endless arguments that had drained her during their marriage.
Exasperated, Yu Yunfei grabbed a glass from the table and hurled it to the ground, shattering it with a deafening crash.
"I can't believe you!" he shouted before storming out, slamming the door behind him with a resounding kick.
As the echo of the door faded, Gu Wanzhou slumped onto the sofa, tears spilling down her cheeks.
Li Zhiyan silently picked up a broom and swept away the shards of glass, careful not to leave any behind.
"Gu Auntie," he said gently, sitting beside her. "Don't cry."
Her shoulders shook as she turned to him, her arms wrapping around his in a quiet gesture of gratitude.
In this world of self-serving exchanges, this boy was one of the few who truly cared for her.
"It's okay, Gu Auntie," he whispered. "You don't need to cry anymore."
Gu Wanzhou's sobs eventually subsided, though her face still glistened with tears.
"Thank you, Xiaoyan," she murmured. "I'm sorry you had to see that."
Li Zhiyan smiled gently, brushing her words aside.
"Gu Auntie, you don't need to apologize. But can I ask one thing of you?"
"What is it?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"If you ever need to deal with Yu Yunfei again, please let me come with you," he said earnestly.
She blinked, taken aback by the unexpected request.
This child, she thought. He's not even my boyfriend yet and already making such demands.
"Fine," she said with a teasing smile. "But only if you agree to be my godson."
Li Zhiyan leaned back, exhaling in relief. "If you were my mother, Gu Auntie, why would I need to worry about that man?"
He paused, his expression turning serious. "But I don't want to be your son. I want to be your boyfriend."
Her cheeks flushed, her mind flustered by his sudden confession.
"Call me 'Mom,' and I'll agree," she quipped, trying to deflect.
"Mom!" he said without hesitation, his voice clear and unwavering.
Gu Wanzhou froze, stunned by his decisiveness.
"But," he added slyly, "calling you that doesn't mean I've agreed to be your godson. It only means you can't go back on your word!"
