Stolen by the Fiery Selkie King

Chapter 1: 1- Her

Maeve was sitting at the window of the home of Loki and Sigyn, god and goddess of time and mischief and all she could do right now was stare out into the darkness.

With a UV ray lamp pointed towards her, as a huldra, a plant entity, she gathered energy but none of the warmth.

This is because outside of time there is no natural light and warmth, only the Void.

It had been a month now since her husband had left to find his other wife, the one he didn't know he had been married to, and he hadn't communicated back yet. However, she knew he had found her because she felt it through the bond.

She was given a bit of his blood when they revived her from her prison, the place that Odin thought that she should be, and now she was his forced disiple and he was a god and she didn't even know why.

Today she felt that he had fought a huge battle, and she had felt all of the pain, but it didn't hurt as much as it did when she also felt him falling in love with her.

Her.

Who is she that she can take my husband?

Maeve had really never interacted with humans or anything similar before she had been put into the void. And she couldn't remember if she ever had fallen in love before her incarceration either, but being with him for the short time she had been with him, she had felt like she loved him.

Perhaps it was the bond's fault because it was all fake.

He had grown on her quite a bit and she had grown on him. This was true, she had thought that with time he would have loved her the way that she felt him loving someone else now, but it never happened.

Now she wouldn't have the chance.

She folded her arms and leaned on the windowsill and watched to see if today he would be back, and a tear fell down her face and dripped onto her forearm. She wiped it away before also wiping her cheek.

She always felt like she would belong in this family. She referred to Loki as her father in law and Sigyn as her mother in law even though they were technically her husbands grandparents and she did not want to lose that, so naturally it hurt being replaced by his actual fated mate. Why did Loki do that to her, trick her? Why did he bring her back from the dead only to hurt her? It didn't make sense.

During the past months, she had visited many times with him, as well as living here alone now, so her and this family had gotten closer, especially the boys who were almost her age.

Vali was the older one, the werewolf boy Loki and Sigyn had adopted, he would be 18 next month.

Narfi was the younger one and son of Loki and Sigyn. He was probably human, but with a bit more strength. He hadn't cared to learn magic yet, so he didn't have abilities. He longed to leave the void and be amongst the humans.

As she was wiping a tear that had fallen on the windowsill, Vali and Narfi came over to offer her a turkey sandwich that Sigyn had made.

"He still hasn't come back yet huh." Narfi said as he sat down on the living room couch and turned on the tv.

"Shut up Narfi, isn't it obvious?" Vali said and smacked him on the back of the head as he stole the remote and sat down next to him.

"Do you want to watch anything Maeve?" Vali asked her.

She sniffled and got up to sit between the boys and Vali handed her the remote.

Narfi got up, and tried to take back the remote, it's not Maeve's turn to choose! She's going to watch Nature's wonders or something dumb about nature I just know it. The other day, I had to stare at trees for four hours!!!!!!!!"

"Quit complaining Narfi, you know you like volcanoes, that's nature too. I mean, if I was to pick something at least it would be about swords." Vali said.

"No, we all know Maeve would choose Luan Dark." Vali said.

Of course she will.

Narfi stuck out his tongue, "girls and their love stuff bluh." He said, but once she clicked on it, he was invested.

Vali smirked at him.

They both were.

They resumed watching the show that they turned on every night.

She pulled her knees up to her chest to get herself comfortable.

Vali offered her some popcorn and she leaned on him.

He put his arm along the back of the couch and smiled an evil grin because after the theme music, the anime characters did exactly what Vali said, always with his spoilers.

Sakura chickening out at their beach day and ending up getting sunburned and going home boyfriendless.

Maeve scowled at him with narrowed eyes, calling him a jerk.

After a while, Narfi went to bed.

The same routine.

But then She ruined it. Also the same routine.

Dumping her blanket on the floor as she put the remote away, Maeve turned off the television.

When she came back over to grab her stuff, she accidentally stubbed her toe on the ceramic popcorn bowl which happened to now be hiding under her blanket.

She grabbed her toe and exclaimed, "gosh Vali! Why'd you put the popcorn bowl in the middle of the floor?!!!! That hurt!!!!!"

"Hey it's not my fault!!! You threw your cat blanket all over the floor!"

He was joking, but she suddenly crouched down and hugged her knees with her head facing the floor and began to cry.

"Hey hey hey, I didn't mean it Maeve! I was only joking!"

She shook her head, "its not you, it's happening again!" Her face was red and she was blushing and upset. "I can't stand it anymore! I want to leave him so bad!! Why won't he come back? Why must he torture me????!!!!" She sobbed.

Vali put his hand on her back to comfort her.

"He's sending me his lovey dovey feelings from him and that girl, and that stuff is private!!!

"Why doesn't he notice that it hurts me??" She sobbed.

And that was the perks of him being with her. Whenever he loved her, Maeve would know his feelings.

She hated Her.
