Chapter 249 Light Elf
Blaze Regret explained as he dropped the soil and dusted off his hands.
Hearing this, Jack Mana nodded slightly. It was precisely because of this that light element spirit beasts were hunted to near extinction, making them incredibly rare now. Read new adventures at empire
"However, your understanding of light element spirit beasts is insufficient."
Blaze Regret opened his palm to reveal a round pill, emitting a faint medicinal fragrance that caused the seemingly dry soil to stir slightly.
Staring at the Hundred Spirit Pool, Jack Mana's pupils contracted slightly.
"This pill, called the Polar Day Pill, is made from precious herbs like aurora grass. When crushed, no light element spirit beast can resist its allure, even in their energy form." Blaze Regret gently crushed the pill into a sparkling powder, letting it fall onto the cracked soil.
The Polar Day Pill, a second grade elixir, was one of the many pills Blaze Regret had crafted at the edge of Bloodstone Mountain. Originally, he had hoped to try his luck and it seemed it would indeed be useful.
As the sparkling powder scattered, the pile of dried soil rapidly dissolved under Jack Mana's astonished gaze. A dazzling light emanated from the bottom of the mud pool, and the pure energy seemed to form a clear pool of water once again.
"As long as a part of the light energy body is preserved, it will continuously absorb the spiritual power from the air, gradually restoring its original form. However, this is ultimately just a lifeless special existence," Blaze Regret said softly, observing the shadows moving back and forth in the energy formed pool.
Jack Mana, standing nearby, was already stunned. Could it be that for all these years, the Jack family had missed such a tremendous opportunity? If not, Jack Mana might have already become a powerful spirit master by now!
"Don't overthink it. These energy bodies usually disguise themselves in various ways. Your Jack family's old patriarch probably stumbled upon something by chance, revealing the true form of this Hundred Spirit Pool," Blaze Regret shrugged and said.
"I wonder about that pill you mentioned..." Jack Mana asked tentatively.
"Although any second tier alchemist can refine the Polar Day Pill, the pill formula is only in my hands," Blaze Regret replied with a meaningful smile.
Jack Mana's breathing grew rapid. Just as he was about to say something, he watched Blaze Regret leap into the Hundred Spirit Pool.
"Plop!"
Even though there was the sound of splashing, no water droplets rose from the pool's surface, clearly indicating that the pool water was entirely made of energy.
With flickering eyes, Jack Mana seemed to make up his mind. He sat cross legged beside the Hundred Spirit Pool, guarding against any spirit beasts that might leap into the pool at any moment.
As Blaze Regret's figure slowly descended, he glanced around, marveling at the sight of light element spirit beast energy bodies swimming in the energy pool like fish in a river.
"Wow!"
Suddenly, a disc shaped energy body locked onto Blaze Regret and Red, who had entered the pool. It was surrounded by several brilliant light beads, tracing a dazzling path.
"Light Elf!" Blaze Regret's heart stirred.
The Light Elf, initially of mid tier Imperial grade, had energy body strength approximately at the third tier, not significantly stronger than Red.
The hollow eyes of the Light Elf fixated on Blaze Regret. With a sudden jolt, the light beads surrounding its body shot out, creating dazzling rays of light that hurtled toward Blaze Regret.
"Whoosh!"
Leaping down from Blaze Regret's shoulder, Red's sharp claws swiped through the air, tearing the brilliant light beads into countless fragments.
In the next moment, Red darted forward, its sharp claws enveloped in a faint yellow flame, slicing the Light Elf's body in half.
"Boom!"
The Light Elf's body shattered into pure energy, which surged into Red. Only a small tadpole shaped energy body managed to escape, swiftly hiding within the energy pool.
Red did not pursue further. As long as a portion of the energy body remained, it would eventually reform into a new Light Elf. If it were completely obliterated, the Light Elf's energy body would vanish forever, unable to reform.
Exhausting resources without regard for the future is clearly an unwise decision.
Having absorbed the Light Elf's energy, Red shook its small head contentedly. Staying in the Hundred Spirit Pool for a few days would enable it to break through, far easier than battling other spirit beasts.
Noticing their companion being defeated, the other energy bodies grew agitated. A nearby Crescent Flower, its petals like sharp blades, sliced through the energy infused waters, aiming directly at Red.
"A sixth tier energy body," Blaze Regret's eyes lit up as he quickly summoned the Rock Horned Dragon Rhinoceros. With a powerful stomp, the creature unleashed a rippling punch that shattered the Crescent Flower into pieces.
Absorbing the Crescent Flower's pure energy, the silver armor on the Rock Horned Dragon Rhinoceros shimmered brightly, clearly benefiting greatly from the encounter.
With a twist of his hand, Blaze Regret formed a protective flame barrier and floated calmly within the energy pool. The air within the pool was similar to the outside, so there was no risk of suffocation while inside.
Days passed by.
The energy bodies in the Hundred Spirit Pool were almost entirely eradicated, with only a few brilliant little tadpoles hiding in the crevices of the rocks, too afraid to come out.
Although lifeless, they still possessed an instinctive fear of danger.
Opening his eyes, Blaze Regret looked at Red and the Rock Horned Dragon Rhinoceros, whose auras had significantly strengthened, and smiled faintly. Although the Rock Horned Dragon Rhinoceros hadn't broken through, it was on the verge of reaching the powerful seventh tier. Meanwhile, Red had advanced to the fourth tier a few days earlier.
"I'm still not a fifth tier spirit imperial master," Blaze Regret shook his head in disappointment. Just as the thought of leaving the Hundred Spirit Pool surfaced in his mind, his gaze suddenly shifted downward. In the dark waters of the energy pool, something seemed to be moving upward.
