Chapter 395: Old Rival
"Well, well, well… It's no wonder why it smells like grass. It turns out the forest kid is here."
Nathan and the others turned their heads around, finding a woman and a young man.
The woman was the same age as Vivian. She had short, pale red, curly hair. She was wearing much more provocative clothes than Vivian, which basically showed her cleavage and long legs.
On the other hand, the young man next to her looked like he was in his early twenties. His head was slightly tilted upward, making him look arrogant.
"Melissa." Vivian squinted her eyes.
"To think you are finally back after being heartbroken for a few years. You should have just rotted in the forest." Melissa snorted.
"No wonder my ears have been itching this whole time. It turns out I have to hear the high-pitched annoying voice. I wonder how many eardrums you have ruptured with that annoying voice of yours."
"This is the voice of people of high status. Hohoho." She covered her mouth.
"What high status? The only thing that is high status about you is the men you've slept with. This is why you will never have a man to marry you."
Their eyebrows twitched. Both of them glared at each other as they approached each other.
"You never changed." Melissa gritted her teeth.
"You too."
"But I have changed. Look. I have a disciple. My disciple is already an elite researcher. He will soon become a specialist. I'm sure he can become a professor within five years." She smirked.
"Ho! It's good, but nothing special." Vivian grabbed Nathan to show off. "This is my disciple, Nathan, the only summoner who can summon beasts."
Veins bulged on Melissa's forehead as she said, "Ricardo has done more than ten theses!"
"He is already strong enough to fight multiple mature class cores."
"Ricardo has been noticed by several professors."
"Nathan has defeated the daughter of the Dragon King."
"Richardo has been the co-author of three of my research projects."
"Nathan has become the co-author of five of my projects, including the two that I will show tomorrow."
"You're lying. He is not even a researcher!"
"Why would I even be bothered whether he is a researcher or not? A co-author is the one who completes the research with me." Vivian snorted.
Nathan looked at both of them while smiling wryly, thinking, 'Why are these two talking like neighbor aunties trying to show off their nephews?'
"You are going to regret this. My research will be the main topic tomorrow."
"Hoho… We'll see if that's the case." Vivian grinned. "I'm not afraid of you."
"You should be." Melissa abruptly stopped before smiling seductively at Nathan. "Boy. How about coming with me and leaving this old nerd behind? I can take care of you day and night."
"How dare you seduce my disciple? It seems you want to die." Vivian stretched her fingers.
"I'm just thinking about his future. If he gets too comfortable with a nerd like you, he will end up becoming a bachelor."
"My student is not a loner like your student." Vivian snorted.
"Oh?! That's even better. Let this big sister teach you how to seduce a woman. I can help you get any woman you want, including me."
"Oi!"
Both of them were glaring at each other. They were on the verge of releasing their Ena.
Nathan wanted to apologize to Zalton and Thompson because of this mess as Vivian's disciples, but those two had disappeared. Your next chapter awaits on empire
'Where are they? Do they know this is going to happen?'
Melissa and Vivian glared at each other for another minute before harrumphing.
"Just you wait." Melissa snorted.
"Hmph!" Vivian rolled her eyes.
They then dragged their disciples away.
While walking, Ricardo couldn't help but ask, "Master. Is that Professor Vivian who you often talked about? The one you said to be a genius who managed to solve a lot of problems with Ena technology?"
"What genius? She is not a genius! Hmph. She is just a fool who has lost her familiar once. Instead of finding a man to embrace her so that she could forget all her sorrow, she buries herself in the research. Such a stiff person… I dislike her." She snorted.
"She is a perfect woman with her elegant aura that one can only have if they're born with it. There are countless men who are trying to court her. There are also a lot of people who want to work together with her.
"However, she is a loner. She never accepts anyone. To think that she is actually allowing her student to actually work together with her. Don't tell me, she is actually swinging that way? She likes taboo?"
Ricardo smiled wryly. Despite her tone, he could actually feel a trace of admiration from her words. After all, there was no way Melissa would know so much about her if she disliked her.
Meanwhile, Vivian and Nathan had arrived at the noodle shop Vivian was talking about.
While eating, Nathan couldn't help but ask, "So, you haven't told me anything about her, Master… It doesn't seem like you hate her or anything."
Vivian rolled her eyes. "She is annoying. That woman is the epitome of seduction. Don't you know that with just a single word from her, she doesn't need to worry about having a man?
"Besides, she is extremely smart. If not for her affairs, she would have at least three titles of professorship.
"She is also a good teacher. Her current student should be her 13th student… maybe? The other twelve have an affair with her, so they're not students and teachers anymore.
"She is also extremely petty. I hate her. Do you know why my familiars are mostly women? It's because she will probably seduce them! Fortunately, her familiars don't have to suffer. She has a lot of familiars, but for some reason, she ends up with ugly-looking familiars all the time.
"I have always told her to forget about it and focus on strength, but she doesn't. It's annoying."
Nathan was quite surprised. She didn't hesitate to both praise her and insult her. All he knew was that their relationship was quite unique.
It appeared he misunderstood their relationship. They were not enemies. They were just old rivals.
