Supernatural Lovers: The revenge

Chapter 2: Almost Got Caught!!!!!!

As the taxi screeched to a halt, I gazed up at the imposing gate of the Slade estate, the grandiose residence of the Moonlight pack's Alpha. A wave of bitterness washed over me; this was the home of my father's killer, the reason I'd assumed a false identity and taken on a humble role within the household. My secret vendetta simmered beneath the surface, awaiting the perfect moment to strike.

My legs seemed to move of their own accord, propelled by the dread of facing Madam Slade, the matriarch of the Slade family. Her reputation preceded her – a heartless and intimidating figure, not someone to be trifled with. I had to tread carefully, concealing my true nature as a witch. The consequences of discovery were too terrifying to contemplate.

As I stepped into the compound, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Despite living here, the grandeur of the estate still amazed me every time. I entered through the back door, the designated entrance for servants like myself.

Today was a special day – the Moonlight pack was hosting the Alpha of the Silverline pack. I was part of the serving staff, tasked with ensuring the feast went smoothly. As I carefully placed each plate on the table, I couldn't help but notice the Alpha of the Moonlight pack's gaze on me. Fear crept up my spine as I worried my true identity had been exposed.

Just then, the Alpha spoke in a deep, commanding voice, "Are you new here?" My voice trembled as I replied, "Y-yes, sir." The Alpha's eyes never left mine, and my heart pounded wildly in my chest. Had I been discovered?

After finishing my serving duties, I waited for the Alpha's dismissal. Once we were excused, I retreated to the kitchen, slumping against the wall as I let out a deep sigh. I mentally reminded myself to steer clear of the Alpha, fearing his keen senses might uncover my secret.

As I made my way to the servants' quarters, Madam Slade abruptly blocked my path. "What are you planning?" she asked gruffly, her tone dripping with disdain.

I attempted to remain calm, trying not to let her antagonism get to me. "I'm not sure what you mean, ma'am?"

Madam Slade's expression turned severe. "That was the first time Leonardo has ever looked at a maid like that before." Her eyes narrowed, scrutinizing me.

I feigned ignorance, trying to deflect her suspicion. "Sorry, ma'am, but I really don't know what you're talking about."

Madam Slade's face twisted in disgust. "Don't play dumb with me, you slut. He looked at you with hungry, dominant eyes."

I tried to protest, but Madam Slade's anger boiled over. She slapped me across the face, the force of the blow leaving me reeling.

As I stumbled backward, Madam Slade grasped my shirt collar, pulling me close. "Listen carefully, you wretch," she hissed. "My son is not like the bastards he associates with. He's independent, well-behaved, and well-mannered. He's far above your standards, so don't even think about getting close to him or speaking to him. Do you understand me?"

I nodded, avoiding eye contact, still reeling from the slap. "Yes, ma'am."

Madam Slade released her grip on my collar, her expression still icy. "Good girl." With that, she turned and walked away, leaving me to nurse my bruised cheek.

As I made my way out of the mansion, I unexpectedly crossed paths with the Alpha himself. Oh great, just what I needed. I attempted to slip away unnoticed, but just as I reached the quarters, I heard him whisper a single word under his breath: "Mate."

I froze, my heart skipping a beat. What was with this guy? He was seriously creeping me out.
