Superpowers in the Marvel World

Chapter 31: Chapter 31

"Bang!"

A deafening crash echoed as the iron gate caved inward, leaving a massive dent!

Accompanied by a gut-wrenching scream, a figure slammed into the iron gate with enough force to embed itself, leaving behind a grotesque human-shaped indentation.

"Fire!"

A deep-voiced, black-clad man barked the order. His comrades raised their weapons to shoot at the intruder.

But before the words fully left his mouth, a figure flew toward him. Reacting instinctively, he reached out to catch his companion, only to realize too late the sheer force behind the incoming body.

The impact shattered both his arms and fractured his chest bone. With a sickening crunch, he was hurled back, landing lifeless alongside the first victim.

"What the hell?!"

"John!"

The mercenaries and thugs, who had been sneering moments earlier, were now stunned, their faces pale. Their colleague, built like a tank, was dead after just one touch.

"This guy must be a super-powered freak!"

Sam, one of Howard's hired mercenaries, steadied his pistol and shouted, "Who the hell are you?!"

"Just someone here to stir up trouble."

Alex grinned as he stepped past the mangled gate, entering the factory's open space. His sharp eyes scanned the mercenaries and thugs, taking in the entire group.

"Mercenaries and thugs... Looks like half of them are here. Perfect, I could use a good meal."

"Don't move, bastard!" Sam yelled, his gun aimed squarely at Alex. "Hands behind your head, or we'll shoot!"

Alex chuckled dismissively. In a flash, he dashed toward Sam.

"Sam, watch out!"

"Think I'm afraid of you?!"

Sam's eyes gleamed coldly as he fired repeatedly, but Alex easily evaded the bullets. Sam remained calm. He'd encountered plenty of opponents who relied on speed or agility to dodge gunfire. Alex's abilities didn't seem out of the ordinary—yet.

When Alex drew closer, Sam swiftly threw his empty pistol at Alex's face and unsheathed a knife strapped to his thigh. With lightning speed, he lunged forward, aiming the blade at Alex's chest.

"This knife-fighting technique cost me a fortune in China. Let's see how you handle it—"

Before he could finish, Alex's speed abruptly skyrocketed, dodging both the thrown pistol and the knife with ease.

Slice!

In one fluid motion, Alex drew his sword. His movement was impossibly fast, harnessing the full extent of his enhanced body.

Quick as the wind.

Swift as lightning.

A silver arc flashed through the air, severing Sam's head from his body before he could react. His decapitated head rolled onto the floor, his lifeless eyes still reflecting Alex's blood-red pupils.

"Oh, my God..."

The remaining mercenaries and thugs stared in horror. Their arrogant composure shattered. This wasn't just any intruder—it was a demon.

"Sound the alarm! Call the boss!"

Panic erupted. These men were hardened killers, notorious even among criminals. Yet now, they were being hunted like prey.

"This guy must be a superhero!"

"Idiot! Have you ever seen a superhero slaughter people like this?!"

As chaos spread, Alex moved with deadly precision. His attacks were ruthless, his blade merciless.

"Shoot him! He's just one man—bullets will kill him!"

A gang leader rallied the others, firing his gun while coordinating a counterattack. But before he could finish, Alex's sword cleaved through his throat, silencing him forever.

Spinning like a whirlwind, Alex unleashed a deadly 360-degree slash, cutting down several mercenaries and thugs in a single motion.

"Swoosh!"

The sound of the blade slicing through flesh filled the air as bodies fell, some severed at the waist.

A nearby thug, paralyzed by fear, could only watch as Alex's sword plunged into his chest, shattering his ribs and piercing his heart.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Dodging a hail of bullets, Alex leaped gracefully, closing the distance in an instant. His blade flashed again, slitting throats before anyone could adjust their aim.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

In mere moments, over ten men collapsed, blood gushing from their necks.

Alex wasn't using any advanced techniques or supernatural powers—just raw speed and precision. His Edman alloy sword made quick work of his foes.

"Run! Run for your lives!"

The remaining thugs and mercenaries broke, fleeing toward doors and windows in desperation.

Alex let out a soft laugh, ignoring their escape. He crouched, allowing the bloody remains to be absorbed into his Devourer's Eye, converting them into pure energy.

As the energy surged through him, Alex felt his power grow stronger.

"I hope their mission goes smoothly," he muttered, activating his farsight ability. Through his enhanced vision, he saw Hit-Girl and Punisher sneaking deeper into the factory, avoiding detection.

From the start, Alex's role was to act as a decoy, drawing attention while his allies targeted the leaders, Kingpin and Howard Saint. Though Alex could have easily wiped out everyone himself, he respected Frank Castle's need for closure.

"Let's end this."

As Alex prepared for the next wave, he sensed four stronger presences approaching. These weren't ordinary mercenaries. If Frank encountered them unprepared, even the Punisher might not survive.

Alex's grin widened. "Guess it's my turn to play exterminator again."
