Superstar From Age 0

Chapter 61

Chapter 61

“Then, I’ll go film.”

“Okay!”

Seo-jun bid farewell to Lee Ji-seok and sat down on a chair.

The drama filming felt faster than the movie filming.

The shots were less close-up and less detailed than the movie.

If this was the pace of a Monday-Tuesday drama, a daily drama would be totally exhausting.

He looked around the set and saw a staff member bringing a boy with a soccer ball tucked under his arm and a sullen face.

“Actor Seo-jun. You’ll be filming with this hyung later. The filming might take a while, so please wait with him.”

“Okay. I understand.”

The boy sat down on the seat where Lee Ji-seok had been sitting.

Silence fell between the two kids.

It would be awkward to film like this, so Seo-jun initiated a conversation.

“Hello, hyung. I’m Seo-jun. I’m in the first grade of elementary school.”

Seo-jun greeted him cheerfully, and the boy’s cute face relaxed into a smile.

He was already here, so he had no choice.

“Hi. I’m Jeong Si-hyeok. I’m in the sixth grade of elementary school. I’m in the soccer club.”

“Soccer club?”

“Yeah. My dream is to be a soccer player.”

Seo-jun recalled the script.

It was a scene where the kids who were playing soccer in the vacant lot told the detective the number of the hit-and-run car.

They brought a real soccer player even though he was an elementary school student.

“Um. Seo-jun. Do you want to play soccer? I’ll teach you.”

Jeong Si-hyeok seemed restless even though he had just sat down.

He lifted and dropped the soccer ball with both hands, unable to stay still.

Seo-jun nodded, wondering if the ball would fly away and interfere with the filming.

“Shall we?”

“Yeah! I’ll go ask my uncle!”

Yoon Ji-hyeok ran quickly to where the lighting staff was.

Ah. He must have come through someone he knew.

He came back with a bright face, having gotten permission.

“They said we can play over there in the vacant lot. But don’t go too far.”

“Okay.”

Seo-jun got up from the chair, and Yoon Seong-oh, who had been watching Seo-jun and Lee Ji-seok alternately, approached.

Usually, Lee Ji-seok was Seo-jun’s guardian, but when Lee Ji-seok was filming, Yoon Seong-oh took over.

“Seo-jun, where are you going?”

“I’m going to play soccer with Si-hyeok hyung in the vacant lot.”

“Really? Then I’ll go with you.”

“What about Ji-seok hyung?”

“He’s an adult, so he’ll be fine on his own.”

The two kids headed to the vacant lot with manager Yoon Seong-oh.

The lighting staff, who had been glancing at them, seemed relieved and focused on their work again.

“You have to kick it like this, with the inside of your foot.”

“Like this?”

“You’re good! Have you played soccer before?”

“No.”

He had never played soccer, but he had played with a ball.

[(Choice) Golden Seal’s Golden Ball-Low Grade]

The golden seal never lets go of the ball made of gold.

It can manipulate the ball freely.

When manipulating the ball, the user’s physical ability is slightly enhanced.

The golden seal makes a round ball out of the shell of the golden egg it hatched from.

***

He was a race that could handle the ball better than anyone else, because he carried a golden ball with him all his life.

He used his tail to hit the golden ball, attacking his enemies or hunting for food.

‘There were no monsters that played soccer, but there were quite a few that played with balls.’

[The Golden Seal’s Golden Ball is activated.]

He enjoyed moving the soccer ball around with his feet, as if it was magnetized to them.

He had kicked the soccer ball a few times before, but it was different from using the skill.

Under Jeong Si-hyeok’s guidance, seo-jun’s skills improved noticeably, as if he had been playing with the ball his whole life.

Yoon Seong-oh clapped without realizing it, seeing the change.

“Hey! Pass it over here!”

Jeong Si-hyeok was also excited. His uncle had asked him to help out just once, and he came out without any practice, but the kid he was filming with was amazing.

He not only passed well, but also stole Jeong Si-hyeok’s ball with quick footwork, despite the difference in height and gestures.

Jeong Si-hyeok’s enthusiasm was ignited by the sight, and he worked hard with his feet.

The two kids kept stealing and stealing the ball from each other, and when they got bored, they passed it back and forth from a distance.

Jeong Si-hyeok, who received Seo-jun’s pass, smiled brightly and shouted.

“Seo-jun, are you really doing this for the first time? You’re really good.”

“Really?”

Seo-jun laughed and kicked the ball.

While they were playing, Lee Ji-seok’s filming was over.

The staff who gathered at the vacant lot to film watched the kids play and admired them.

“They’re both really good, aren’t they?”

“Si-hyeok is one of the top five elementary school students in our country. He was on TV last time. But, this actor Seo-jun is also really good.”

The pass was seamless, and they sometimes fought for the ball.

Jeong Si-hyeok was gentle, but Seo-jun’s skills were also impressive.

“Should we put this in?”

“Yes. Let’s put a little bit in the beginning.”

Director Choi Min-sung and writer So Eun-jin nodded.

The camera was rolling without the kids knowing, and Yoon Seong-oh moved away from the kids so he wouldn’t be on camera.

The scene of the kids playing was quickly filmed, and they moved on to the main filming.

***

May 8th.

It was Parents’ Day.

Seo-jun, who had a lot of fun with his friends at the campsite on Children’s Day, made a carnation to give to his parents at school.

The first graders were still too dangerous to use scissors, so the teacher had cut out red, yellow, and pink petals in advance.

They glued the petals together to make a carnation, but unlike the other kids who had glue on their hands and tore the petals, seo-jun’s carnation looked like a product sold in a store.

Seo-jun had folded the paper petals himself and put creases in them, so the shape of the petals was different.

“Seo-jun, how did you do that?”

Ji-yoon, who was sitting next to Seo-jun, asked. His carnation was much different from hers, which had glue all over it. Seo-jun’s was much prettier. I want to give my mom and dad a pretty flower too!

“This? If you fold it like this and unfold it, it’s pretty. You have to fold it in half.”

As Seo-jun showed how to fold the petals, Ji-yoon and his other friends who were sitting around followed him.

Soon, the kids who were making their own at their desks gathered around Seo-jun.

“Like this?”

“Yeah! You’re doing great.”

The teacher smiled at Seo-jun’s polite appearance, and lifted his arm when he couldn’t make his own carnation because he was helping the kids.

“Okay, teacher. I’ll help you too.”

They all worked together and made beautiful carnations in no time.

Seo-jun’s hands moved quickly while the children were making carnations for their parents with their clumsy skills.

He folded and cut the colored paper he bought with his own money neatly and prettily – with the teacher’s help – and filled his bag with flowers.

He came home after his taekwondo class and found his parents waiting for him with bright smiles.

Seo-jun checked the clock. It was not even six o’clock, but his dad was home.

“Dad! You got off work early?”

“Uh-huh.”

Lee Min-jun coughed at Seo-jun’s remark. He couldn’t admit that he came early because he wanted to get a carnation for Parents’ Day.

Seo-jun guessed his dad’s thoughts and grinned as he opened his navy blue backpack.

“This one is for mom. This one is for dad!”

He handed them the pretty envelopes with the carnations inside.

“Mom, dad. I love you!”

Seo-jun hugged them both tightly. Seo Eun-hye and Lee Min-jun felt tears welling up in their eyes.

They put the carnation and the letter on the floor and embraced Seo-jun.

Ah. When did their little baby grow up so much?

They had received carnations and letters every year, but their hearts still fluttered every time.

“Mom and dad love Seo-jun so much too!”

Seo Eun-hye and Lee Min-jun pinned the carnations on their clothes and read the letter.

Seo-jun, feeling shy, quickly went to his room and brought out a few boxes he had prepared beforehand.

His parents wiped their tears after reading the letter.

Lee Min-jun, whose nose was running, asked as Seo-jun took out more carnations from his bag.

“Seo-jun. Why did you make so many?”

“I have many people to give them to!”

Seo-jun put the carnations in the lovely boxes.

The carnations for his parents had more petals, but the others were still pretty.

“These are for grandma and grandpa. This is for my other grandma. This is for Uncle Chan. This is for Uncle Hee-sang. These are for Brown Black hyungs. This is for Aunt Na-ra.”

That was all for the carnations. Seo-jun took out another flower.

“I made these for other people I wanted to give them to.”

Lee Ji-seok and Yoon Seong-oh. Director Choi Dae-man, Director Ryan Will, Jonathan, Evan Block, rachel Hill.

They were paper flowers for the people who had been kind to him.

Seo Eun-hye and Lee Min-jun smiled as they saw the postcards and flowers in the boxes.

“They will love them a lot.”

As they said, seo-jun’s phone rang nonstop after he mailed the boxes to the people.

Brown Black, who sobbed and said they didn’t expect to receive such a thing, and Kim Hee-sang, who sent him a bunch of dolls.

The others seemed to have forgotten the gifts they got on Children’s Day, and they sent him more gifts again.

***

It was the third week since Reinvestigation started airing.

Seo-jun watched the rerun of Reinvestigation with Lee Ji-seok, and went to bed at nine, but today he decided to watch it live.

It was finally Reinvestigation episode five.

The episode where Seo-jun made a cameo appearance.

“It feels weird to watch it on TV. I always watched it at the cinema.”

“Right. Mom and dad already turned on KBC.”

The couple and Seo-jun sat on the sofa and watched the TV with commercials.

The drama was always entertaining, but it felt different from the movies when Seo-jun was on it.

“They also showed Evil Spirit on KBC on Sunday.”

“Ugh. I’m not a fan…”

“He’s a cop, and there was a hit-and-run accident right in front of him. He’s investigating it.”

“So?”

“There’s no other way out of here. Did you see any strange cars passing by?”

“I didn’t…”

“I did!”

The little kid quickly answered.

The big kid sighed. He remembered how the kid had been babbling about the weird car all night long.

“It drove weirdly. It hit the streetlight over there and the fence over here.”

“Did you see the license plate of that car?”

“Uh… It was similar to our home phone number… 4812. I don’t know the front part.”

“Okay. Thanks.”

Ji-seok nodded his head. And he left the alley to investigate the hit-and-run car.

As the fifth episode of Reinvestigation ended and the scroll went up, a bright white caption appeared on the screen with the smiling face of the kid.

[We thank Lee Seo-jun and Jeong Si-hyeok for their special appearances.]

-??? Lee Seo-jun?! For real?

-Wow. I thought Lee Seo-jun only did movies!

-But Lee Seo-jun lost his front toothㅋㅋㅋ I feel his ageㅋㅋ

-So he went to see a play with Ji-seok.

-Who’s the kid next to him? He kicked the ball really well.

=His name is Jeong Si-hyeok, he’s an elementary school student and a promising player. He’s the best in his age groupㅋ

=But Lee Seo-jun also kicked wellㅋㅋㅋ He’s a genius in acting and soccer, what can’t he doㅋㅋ

=My dad, he’s the coach of the elementary school soccer club, he’s asking me who he is, where he livesㅋ

Dad: You’ll go abroad and become a world star!(soccer)

Me: He’s already abroad and a world star.(acting)

Dad: What!?

-That’s why KBC showed Lee Seo-jun’s movie.

=But the atmosphere was totally differentㅋㅋ He was amazing in Evil Spirit, but in the drama, he looked like a real neighborhood kidㅋㅋㅋ

=But still, a change of moodㅋㅋ It wasn’t as bad as Jin Natra. That was beyond the wallㅋㅋ

[Reinvestigation, who’s the special guest?]

Lee Seo-jun Cameo

Lee Seo-jun

Reinvestigation Episode 5 Rerun

“Lee Seo-jun Reinvestigation, it sounds like Seo-jun became a criminal.”

“That’s true. But it was fun. Seo-jun is good at soccer. Do you want to go to the soccer field with dad next time?”

“Yeah!”

Lee Min-jun asked as he checked the real-time search terms on his phone.

He smiled brightly at his son who answered coolly. He liked almost all sports.

Seo Eun-hye also shared her thoughts on the cameo.

“I hope you do more dramas next time. Movies end in one episode, but dramas keep coming out. No, wait. Dramas are hard because of the scripts. Ugh. Never mind. Seo-jun can do whatever he wants. Mom likes everything.”

Seo-jun smiled brightly at Seo Eun-hye’s words.

“I’m going to do something else!”
