Chapter 83: Jones family
Precious opened the door, and what she saw left her frozen in shock. Standing on the driveway was none other than her brother the only son, the first child, Ethan Jones—the newest sensation in pop music and music in general. But that wasn't all. Surrounding him was a massive truck unloading three gleaming cars, with men carefully parking them.
She let out a scream and darted past Ethan, her curiosity taking over. "This is insane!" she exclaimed, rushing to the cars. As she passed her brother, she caught his playful shout, "Good to see you too, sister!"
Ethan laughed at her reaction before turning to see his mom, who was rushing toward him. She enveloped him in a tight hug. "Oh, my baby! I didn't know you were coming. Why didn't you tell me? And what are all these cars?" she asked, her voice a mixture of joy and confusion.
Smiling, Ethan replied, "Well, I wanted to surprise you guys. You didn't think I'd miss Christmas, did you?" He chuckled as his mom squeezed him even tighter before finally letting him go. "Come, come, I want to show you the cars," he said excitedly.
As Ethan began leading his mom toward the vehicles, his eyes caught sight of a massive figure standing in the doorway. His expression shifted to curiosity. "Mom, who is that?"
Before his mom could answer, Isaiah stepped forward with a polite smile. "Hello, I'm Isaiah Thomas, Precious' friend. It's an honor to meet you. I'm a huge fan of your music," he said, extending his hand.
Ethan shook it, his face relaxing into a smile. "Oh, yeah. Welcome. I'm Ethan, Precious' brother."
Precious returned from inspecting the cars, her excitement evident. "Dude, these cars are insane! Isaiah, come check them out!"
Ethan grinned and motioned to his mom. "Let's go, Mom. I want to show you the cars."
When they reached the driveway, Ethan pointed to the first car. "Uh, this is the BMW…" he trailed off, trying to recall the exact model.
Isaiah stepped in, his enthusiasm evident. "It's the BMW 8 Series Coupe. It's an absolute beast—a two-door luxury coupe with a turbocharged engine and sleek design. The performance is top-tier."
Ethan nodded. "Yeah, that's it. Thanks, Isaiah. This one is for Dad."
He then pointed to the next car. "And this is the…"
Isaiah jumped in again. "The BMW Z4 M40i. A stunning roadster, compact yet powerful. It's got a convertible top, and the handling is just out of this world."
Ethan laughed. "Thanks again, Isaiah. This one's for Precious."
Precious let out another high-pitched scream and threw herself at Ethan, wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she gushed.
Ethan patted her back, smiling. "You're welcome, bud."
Finally, he pointed to the third car. "And for you, Mom, this is the BMW X5 xDrive40i. A luxury SUV with plenty of space, a smooth ride, and all the latest tech. It's perfect for you."
Isaiah couldn't help but chime in again. "A great choice! The X5 combines comfort and performance. It's one of the best in its class."
Ethan turned to Isaiah with a grin. "Thanks for letting me get through that one, Isaiah."
Isaiah rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Sorry about that. I just love cars."
Ethan chuckled. "It's all cool."
His mom stepped closer, her eyes full of gratitude as she touched his cheek. "Why did you buy all these? They must have been expensive. We already have cars; you didn't need to do this."
Precious piped up, "Speak for yourself, Mom. I don't have a car."
Ethan laughed. "It's all fine, Mom. I wanted to get these for you all. And don't worry about the price—I'm good on that front."
His mom smiled softly, cupping his face. "My lovely boy. Thank you so much. I really love this."
A cough interrupted the moment, drawing their attention. One of the delivery men stepped forward with a clipboard. "Mr. Jones, we need your signature here," he said.
"Oh, no problem," Ethan replied, taking the pen. The man added, "And after that, we'll still need your signature for the other forms."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Where?"
The delivery man gestured toward his colleagues, who each held out a stack of papers. "Here, sir. For my daughter, for my girlfriend..."
Ethan gave an awkward smile and said, "Yeah, I'm coming."
Turning back to his family, he said, "While I'm doing this, you guys can go for a ride."
His mom shook her head. "It's fine, honey. I'll wait here with you and go when your father comes."
Precious snatched the keys to her new car and waved. "Later, gators! Isaiah, let's go! I'm driving you."
Isaiah laughed and followed her. "Later, then."
As Ethan signed the paperwork, he caught his mom throwing a stern look at Precious' oblivious form. He couldn't help but smile, thinking to himself, "It's great to be home."
