Tale of a Hedonistic wizard

Chapter 345: Heading for Witch Spire

Jaegar's expression turned serious, "No." Mentioning the palace, he remembered the people and how they seemed to be unbothered by his arrest. No, they must have known beforehand. The ministry couldn't have acted without contacting the palace, Jaegar thought to himself.

Even if Jaegar wasn't treated like a family by others, he was still a prince by blood of the mainline of the family.

Pierre observed Jaegar's change in expression, pausing for a moment before continuing. He said, "After your grandfather died, the crown prince-"

Jaegar cut him, "What! When did that happen?" He was surprised, as he was hearing it only now.

Pierre sighed and then said, "It happened right after you kidnapped." Then Pierre started explaining the changes that happened in the empire while he was absent. The crown system and how his uncle had ascended the throne, his father's absence in the imperial palace. And Jaegar being not part of the crown system. It was all over the news when they announced the crown system and its participants.

HAA!!

Jaegar sighed heavily, "Damn, a lot happened within a year." Your next read awaits at empire

"Fuck!" Jaegar's expression turned grim.

Pierre patted his shoulder and said, "I know, it's a lot to take in."

"Not that, my aunt. I completely forgot about her." Jeegar had been so excited to see her on his way back, but he had completely forgotten about it after being arrested.

"Oh, yeah, your aunt. Don't worry, Jaegar. I received a letter from Lady Angelina. She had been in contact ever since the incident, and she was the one who said to be careful with the ministry."

Pierre, with an amazed expression, said, "Imagine my surprise when I received the letter from the Revered witch, Wah! I still feel goosebumps." He let out a wry laugh.

Jaegar frowned as he felt Pierre was exaggerating. Personally, Jaegar hadn't experienced how the people of magical communities worship her and have deep respect for her, so he didn't really know.

Seeing his expression, Jennifer said, "Jaegar, I don't think you know, but some people even consider seeing her directly like a boon. After all, she is one of the six strongest beings in the world; you know The 'Seraphyne Circle of Siks'."

Seraphyne Circle Of siks, it was like a group formed by the strongest people in the world; only Angelina was human, and the other five beings belonged to different races. The circle held immense power and influence, with their decisions impacting the entire world.

Of course, Jaegar knew about that, but he was so accustomed to her that he can't imagine people being so awestruck about it. And she never really showed it. If anyone who doesn't know met her for the first time, she would think that she was just an ordinary lady.

"Alright, alright, don't glare at me like that," Jaegar said, feeling the penetrating gaze of Pierre.

Pierre always nags him about how he was so lucky that he could meet Lady Angelina and even go to her home.

Pierre composed himself and continued, "Well, at that time, she was very vague about it. But she said your aunt is safe in the spire."

Jennifer chimed in, "We haven't heard from a while, and there are rumours that she had been restricted to the spire."

Jaegar asked, "What? Why?"

Pierre replied, "How would we know? We only know that she had been stripped of her authority in the spire and was restricted to the spire. And not to mention, these are all just rumours, so we can't be sure of what's happening in the spire."

Jennifer then asked, "I don't understand why she would not be able to leave the spire. If she wanted, she could decimate the entire spire."

Jaegar heaved a sigh and said, "It isn't as simple as we speak. The Witch Spire, and they is the council and the other witches who are part of the spire. If something happened to the level that she had been restrained, then it must be related to the spire. And moreover, she isn't the type to act recklessly against her own people. I know she cares deeply about the spire and its witches."

Pierre nodded, "Yeah, that's true. She might have willingly stayed in."

Jaegar now understood why she sent Blade Sovereign and the reason for her absence.

Then he got up, "Well, then. It is decided. I leave for the spire and meet both my aunt and master."

He added with a smirk, "but before that, I need to have a good long bath."

Pierre, unable to contain his amusement, burst into laughter and said, "Yeah, mate, you should. I bought some new clothes for you, and they are in your room."

Jaegar grinned, giving a hearty pat on his shoulder before turning to Jennifer, "Jenny, you should watch out," he said, his voice teasing, "otherwise, I might just take Pierre with me. He makes a good housewife, you know."

Jennifer couldn't hold back her laughter, doubling over as she caught her breath. "Yeah, yeah, take him if you want. You can marry him for all I care."

"Hey, hey, hey," Pierre looked at Jennifer disbelievingly. Then he turned to Jaegar and spat, "Jaegar, you bastard!"

Jaegar chuckled and turned to head out of the hall, his steps light as he made his way upstairs, leaving the sound of their shared laughter behind.

Once he entered the room, his playful grin lingered on his face. The fire crackled in the corner, casting a soft glow across the cosy space.

On the bed, neatly laid out, was a sharp new suit Pierre had bought for him. His fingers brushed over the fabric, and a smile tugged at his lips.

He got into the shower and stayed in the tub for a while, taking his time. The warm water provided a little relaxation to his body. His thoughts were all now turned to his aunt, and he was eager to meet her soon.
