Chapter 33: XXXIII. Fight or Die
In the middle of the forest, Alexandra clumsily and with great difficulty moved to try to keep her presence hidden as best she could, she looked around her and paid attention to every sound in the environment to make sure she did not meet any dragon or any of the warriors that were chasing her was close. She was alone, she had no allies, companions, friends, her mother nor the voice of the relic, due to the flash and bursts she had to use to escape, the gem had turned dark and Alexandra could not perceive the voice she always heard, she too felt that there was no man in the chain. She leans at the base of a tree making sure to hide and take a short rest to regain her strength a little, walking with her armor was torture, she felt that she was using those armor from the first workouts from her.
Alexandra saw the birds, the leaves falling with the wind, and the small animals of the place, she felt safe with that natural and calm vision, for her this beautiful image of nature gave some comfort to her heart, it erased the fears and physical and emotional injuries. This is how the dragons who were exiled must feel when they no longer had the support of their comrades in arms and kingdoms, this is how Ssaull's life should be at the beginning of her exile, the human thought, closing her eyes, calming her breathing. What could she do now? Once all the kingdoms found out about her actions and the fact that she had a sacred relic for the dragons in her hands, all the warriors, guilds, and hitmen would look for her and would not stop until they saw the life of the human being extinguished. in front of them, she couldn't even be with Ssaull and Rophttys without putting them in extreme danger and she wouldn't allow Magarai to protect her, the human begged and pleaded with mother Desthy to stop Magarai from doing stupid things and losing Greater Dragon's life for her, Alexandra doesn't see herself as something important or someone worth that kind of resignation; in the end, it was just Alexandra against the world of dragons.
"Well at least it couldn't make my luck worse," said Alexandra trying to rest.
"Are you sure you can say that?" A strange voice was heard and the human opens her eyes and barely places herself in combat position with the relic.
"Who's there ?!" she asks alert of every sound.
"Look at her despite her exhaustion she still wants to fight"
"Tell me, weakling. Do you have the strength to fight?"
Several voices and laughter were heard in the place becoming loud every second, it was a sign that they were getting closer to the human. Even so, Alexandra would not be intimidated, if she would die, she would not let the last moments of her life be her feeling fear and despair, she would die as a warrior and honor her mother.
"Because they don't show up and we found out, I'm sure I'll be able to kill even one of you before I die." mentions the human moving the chain with decent skill despite her weak strength.
"Honest and realistic, I like that, it hurts that you're a dirty human"
Alexandra sees five dragons of the oceanic race each with an evident thirst for blood in her eyes, she knew that even if she gave him what they asked, she would still be killed. Those dragons weren't the kind to reason normally or fairly.
"I promise you that if you give us what we ask, your death will be kind and not painful at all, well at least not with me, I cannot speak for my companions here, but at least I will give you a noble rest," said the red dragon of the half.
"How? That was not part of the agreement" replied the gray dragon annoyed.
"We were supposed to have fun with her pain and tears, she always wanted to hurt a human since the cursed Greater Dragon eliminated the last human camp," said the youngest and most unstable of the five dragons.
"Idiots Shairum is looking for her, if they find us before taking the relic, we will all be dead. I prefer to leave with my tail intact"
The dragons understand the situation that the red had pointed out, time was something precious and they had to kill the human and leave quickly before the dragons and allied guilds of Shairum found them and that would only cause their mission to fail.
"Believe me my good dragons, I too would like to enjoy some time with the human, make her scream, cry and beg for her life, but it will be for another time and as I mentioned dear human, I will give you a quick and painless death if you surrender now "The dragon walks calmly towards a human who doubted her face" It is time for your adventure to end here, you already tried to show that you were like us and you failed, but you gave your best, you don't think it's better to say goodbye to this world knowing that you went as far as you could with your limitations "
The dragon is one step away extending a hand to the human to give him the relic and thus fulfill his word, he did not want to face all the prodigious warriors of the guilds and could hear how not far from his position several dragons looking for the human, this should only last a second and then leave. The human begins to look down at her releasing a pathetic and almost melancholic laugh, irritating the dragon for having to see that.
"Oh dear please try to keep the image of a warrior for a bit, I implore you, you can die with a smile at least," he says kindly as he reaches out to take the relic.
"I said I would kill at least one of you, and that's what I'll do" Alexandra wraps the relic around the reddish dragon's neck and uses it as a shield.
Taking the dragon's sword she thrusts it into her chest from behind so that she would not resist and she could move with him as her only protection. But now she was even slower, this was a new weight and she, therefore, would not move faster than before. The dragons, seeing that, fired blasts of water at the human so that she stumbled and with the weight of her dead companion, she was trapped like a turtle.
Alexandra checked the dragon's things while she protected herself from the attacks looking for something useful to protect herself, between the sword, a potion, and a smoke bomb; it was all she could use for her survival, without many options she uses the bomb to release the dragon and run away. The other four dragons would not let them escape and go in pursuit of her, again running, despite having escaped from the first dragons that were chasing her, Alexandra now had to flee again for her life alone. She took the opportunity to take the potion in her hand to recover much of her strength and energy, this would help him last longer in her fight. She receives the impact of several gusts of water from her back, knocking her down into a small hill with branches and earth in each part of her body, but now that she was better of energy she was able to endure.
"There is the human!" shouted some winged at the sight of Drigielix's guild.
The winged dragons launched currents of sharp air against her, Alexandra somersaulted backward and was able to avoid much of them, but one of her hit her left hand severely injuring her hand. Alexandra throws herself into an area with more trees and rocks, she had to get out of the winged field of vision and keep running if she wanted to lose sight of the oceanic who were in pursuit of her. Some terrestrial dragons threw fireballs at the trees to knock down branches or simply cut off the human with a wall of fire, but she entered the body of fire knowing that her armor would protect her from being burned much of it. her body. She hoped that with this the dragons would lose their trail with the fire, but her luck was terrible, she receives an attack from a winged dragon and spits a little blood from the blow she received.
"The game is over Alexandra," said Drigielix with a look of extreme anger, he raised her sword to deliver the death blow to the human and finish everything.
"Before you kill me, first look at your back, an arrow is coming" she mentions.
"Enough of your attempts to cheat !!"
The dragon receives an arrow and sees the four ocean dragons firing arrows and blasts of water to defend themselves and kill anyone close to the human.
"I warned you!!" The human screamed, taking advantage of the dragon's distraction to escape.
She was able to steal a potion from Drigielix to regain her strength and again she takes it to move faster and feel better to keep fighting. However, something unexpected happened to her, each potion she took began to hurt the human's body, Alexandra's vision became colorful and blurred, it must be because she had taken many potions, with her mother's and the ones he stole was beginning to affect her senses.
"No, come on Alexandra you can do it, shit the world turns around me" she puts one knee to the ground feeling unable to walk, this was bad for her.
"You will not run away again!" Drigielix lunges at her again, but this time he would make sure he didn't escape her by hitting her face several times.
She knees him in the stomach and steps on his tail to respond to the blows, although she could not move, she could return the blows while holding the winged dragon. Alexandra with her sword manages to make a wound to the chest of the dragon which draws her sword to defend herself against it. With his tail he manages to affect the balance of the human and with this he gives her a blow by removing the helmet seeing that burned face, with claw marches and wounds on the human's face, Drigielix was sick to see the face of the human, With a direct blow he tries to stick the sword in her face, but Alexandra removes the shield from her forearm, deflecting the trajectory only cutting him near the right eye, a lot of blood gushed from the wound, but she continued fighting for her life, Alexandra released her sword and start throwing several blows at Drigielix's face, managing to hit each one of them, disarming the dragon and with the chain in her other hand, she knocked him to the ground, but it was not enough for her, she pounced on him to take his neck and give several blows to the face.
"You are a bloody, stupid, unfortunate, and useless dragon of shit" she blocks Drigielix's blow and responds with a stronger one to him. "I should kill you for what you and your damn friend tried to do to me, you don't deserve to live longer than me just for being a fucking dragon" she continues hitting Drigielix with this one with little strength she throws another fist impacting her, he barely manages to move her face, but it was not strong at all compared to the blows of the human, she only responded with more blow increasing the strength of each one "I trusted you, I wanted to fight for you, I wanted to be your friend and partner. Damn, I wanted to be a warrior of Shairum and help the dragons to live peacefully, but I don't want to leave any of you. "
Alexandra stops when she sees the dragon very weak and with her face bathed in blood, she wanted to kill him, she had every right to do so, but she stopped because she did not feel that what she was doing was correct and despite everything, she would listen the little He was right, yet he still takes Drigielix's sword to give him a warning.
"Be grateful that you can continue living today, but remember that the next time I see you, I will not stop until you see you die" said this, Alexandra sticks Drigielix's sword in his wing so that he could see that she was serious and that only he was still alive because she wanted him to.
"Damn come back here and fight. Who do you think you are to treat me like this? Come and kill me or die!" the dragon screamed, over and over it screamed the human's name, but she ignores it because it was more important for her to get out alive than to kill him. She could only hear the dragon curse her name and call her a coward for not killing him.
Alexandra manages to escape from her by getting lost in the forest and returning to a momentary calm feeling how the blood runs in her open wound and feeling pain in her body, Drigielix had hurt her among the others. She leans against a tree vomiting blood and part of the potion she was drinking, in the end, her body was exhausted, she had not slept well and had not had time to recover properly, she was really bad with her whole body, Alexandra gives several blows to the tree until he felt his other hand bleeding from so much blow that she had given. She cried for her fate, it wasn't fair to her, she couldn't take it anymore, in the end, dragons and humans couldn't be allies no matter how hard humans tried. Alexandra takes a few steps avoiding falling to the ground due to her condition, she had to be careful with every step she took, but a spear hits her, knocking her down and causing a new serious wound to her.
"I gave!"
He celebrated a yellow oceanic dragon of the murderers, he and his only companion approached what seemed to be the human corpse and between them, they began to kick the human for all the problems that went through because of her, Alexandra with her Last Force casts an electrical spell to kill the dragons that kicked her, but the yellow dragon uses his shield companion to protect himself.
"Damn you still defend yourself" the dragon kicks the human's wound by the spear, hearing a sweet moan from her.
The dragon takes the neck of the human and is dragging her towards a cliff, this time she would let nature be in charge of eliminating this error without scale, Alexandra weak and already tired she only gave weak blows just touching the dragon's arm in one last attempt to continue fighting for his life, the dragon was already tired of this and could only end everything once and for all.
"In the end Captain Rellix was right, you cause a lot of trouble" he takes the relic and takes it away from the human "when you see death, I hope she is not merciful to you, you miserable creature"
By releasing the human to the precipice, Alexandra reacts by taking the chain, letting gravity help her to deflate the relic of the dragon's hands, with one movement she manages to wrap the chain around the dragon's neck causing him to fall with it, at the end the dragon collides with some rocky parts and with the relic in its neck causing it to break with the weight of the human influencing with this fatal result. Alexandra smiles knowing that she gave everything to fight and win, she would not let any evil group take the relic, and even if her death was inevitable, at least she fought as any warrior would, with honor, without fear and believing in herself. She without further force releases the relic to fall into the abyss, she closed her eyes thinking of her friend Kaipo, she would be happy to return to her best friend in the other world, the color of the gem had changed recovering its bright and vivid colors and quickly it coils around the human forming a sphere to protect her from falling, she would not let her die after all that she went through to survive and protect the relic.
