Tales from the Moon: Dragon Legends

Chapter 41: XLI. Sin of the Greater Dragons II

The dragon enters his room to prepare his things before leaving for the human camp, he hoped to see that funny girl with whom he shared friendship, he had a great gift prepared for her, a new phone that he had found in the remains of a large ship that carried a lot of human things, he remembered that she kept talking about how these rectangular objects were inexhaustible sources of entertainment and that he could do almost anything with that, he seemed somewhat disappointed with how thin and small it was said powerful object, but she hoped that her friend would teach her the secrets and powers of the artifact and thus be more powerful and do so many things with the object.

"Human camp. Are you thinking straight Ssaull?" the dragon sighs wearily upon recognizing the voice of the dragon that had entered his room.

"I don't care what kind of sermon you're going to give me, that can wait until the next time we go back to Magarai, I have little time and I can't waste it listening to you spit poison at me," he said without even looking at his face, she didn't take it well.

"Ssaull you know that she would not come here if she did not consider it necessary, but I am forced to guide you to the right path, you still have time to come with us and be a good Greater Dragon, if only .."

"I'm sorry little dragon, I made my decision, I appreciate that you want to help me to be a good warrior, but this is something I must do and I believe. Your heart and wishes are in the battle because you believe in your ideals to end all evil. and that is nice, but mine is different from yours and I must honor them as the good dragon that I am "

The dragon places his backpack on his right shoulder and takes a few steps seeing the face of the female dragon, she was not happy and he was not happy either. He didn't want to fight with her, it would just be a waste of time, but Magarai's gaze made him understand that they would have to exchange even more words.

"What's up swimming lizard, do you want a fight?" he looks at the dragon with a rather annoying smile.

"A dragon-like you when he joined the Greater Dragons thanks to the request of our queen was an insult to us, we never need the approval or favor of someone to get to the place where you are, but that's how it happened with you"

The dragon stops smiling and looks seriously at the dragon, if this conversation would end on the topic of whether or not a skeleton-like him deserved his place with the best of the best of dragon warriors, then he would ignore her and just walk away.

"If you have something to say, just spit it in my face and go away" the dragon's tone stopped being kind and it seemed that he would not look weak in front of her.

"Maybe I didn't recognize you as one of us in the past, however, you showed that you were truly a great warrior like us and you never let anyone trample you no matter the difference in strength, you were always a very talented bastard for making a fool of others ", she mentions, remembering the victories of the skeletal dragon.

"And.."

"I do not want you to waste this talent on humans, you are more than others believe, without a doubt much more than other dragons have been. You don't prefer to go show other dragons what you and your race can be as strong as a winged dragon "the dragon leaves his furious countenance and changes to a surprised one, Magarai was acknowledging and praising him.

"I don't know what to say, I had prepared several insults against you and your tail, but this I have nothing to answer," he said in amazement, Magarai must have used much of her strength to release those words in his favor.

"Ssaull you are a very clever warrior, you know more spells than anyone else, you master the art of strategy better than me and other masters of combat, you know how to fight without exposing yourself to so many risks and you are loyal to your companions despite their contempt for you. That you're going to waste all that potential bothers me a lot because I can't allow my best partner to be seen as a coward "said Magarai without a hint of shame or problem in saying it.

The dragon remains silent, I never hope that Magarai would recognize him with those words as his equal, the proudest dragon of all the kingdoms had called him her best companion, without a doubt not even the delusions of an announced death would have made him believe in the possibility of hearing her say those words, the dragon lets out a slight high-pitched laugh irritating the female.

"Are you going to laugh !? You are undoubtedly garbage, I give you some recognition and you make fun of me !!"

"Don't take me the wrong way, Magarai, I'm not making fun of you and I don't doubt your words" the dragon looks at her with a friendly and calmer smile. "Forgive me if it sounds rude of me, but it is rare to hear you say good things about me, it is crazy and at the same time incredible if you allow me"

The dragon without knowing what to answer only averts her gaze a little, it was strange if, she appreciated a dragon as inferior as he, but she did not doubt a single word of what he said about him, she recognized the effort, strength, and power of Ssaull as something different from the rest and if he wanted to be more than he was, then he should go hunting Rellix with her.

"Don't get used to it, idiot, I'm not fond of slags like you, but if you come and raise the sword next to me, I'll recognize you more often- pass a special sword to him, it was one of the dragon's collection." What do you say to me now? "She asked with a smile.

Although it was a great honor and something Ssaull would have liked, the dragon had a promise to keep, not just for himself or his queen, but for his best and only friend he had. Even if he lost the recognition of Magarai, he would not betray the girl who believed in him as someone greater than he and others believed of the dragon.

"Thank you, you honor me with a great feeling this honor, but I must fulfill if there is another warrior that brings about the end of peace I swear to accompany you without hesitation, but this fight is not mine, I'm sorry" he walks sideways to Magarai.

"That useless human is not going to give you any glory no matter if the queen herself tells you otherwise," Magarai said teasing the dragon.

Ssaull wanted to defend his friend, but luckily he did not fall to provocations as easily as Magarai or another dragon who allowed themselves to be carried away by their pride, he knew how to keep his brain focused on what was most important and would only respond to insults or provocations when he considers it necessary.

"Fight with the glory and fortune of Mother Desthy and Queen Erisha friend" he leaves without any more encouragement to share words with her.

Magarai looks annoyed at the dragon and a combination of respect and frustration invaded her mind, she admired the dragon's determination to go what she believed to be his greatest glory but was frustrated to see that he wasted that incredible determination on shitty beings. After that annoying and not very funny conversation for the blue dragon, he travels with a beast lizard as fast as possible, there was no need to do so, however, he did not want to meet another dragon and have it try to provoke a fight with him only with the excuse to use his sword against his being. After several hours of travel, the dragon finally arrives at the human camp being received by few dragons and many humans who asked about the other Greater Dragons, usually, there were two or four who came to see them per week, the dragon had to explain the Such an important situation for the dragons and that it would only be him this week who should be on the watch without giving many details as dictated by his protocol, the humans and lower warriors did not need to know all the key or important details of the mission of the capture of the Captain Rellix, there were quite a few rumors of some traitors or spies of her near different towns and cities.

The dragon walks and sees his best friend in a lookout post, he smiles and uses his arms wings to reach the tower without so much effort, she is startled falling to the ground of the post when surprised.

"Ssaully !!" she stands up with her hand to her chest "You're crazy bastard, you almost scared me to death !!" she yells somewhat annoyed to which the dragon apologizes sadly.

"Look what Rebecca brought you!" the dragon takes out the box of a rather novel phone model.

"Is that a smartphone?" she takes the device box and checks it.

"Yes, at last, you will teach me that of the magical internet network, emojis, and that of windows from another side of the world where you spy on other humans in their daily activities and other things" the dragon commented excitedly as a small child with his new toy.

The girl only laughs at how badly the dragon interpreted the concepts of the telephone, social networks, and the videos of artists and idols. She explains that she could teach him the basics and maybe some of the default apps that could be accessed from the phone, but it was the best thing he could do without internet or services or call centers, the dragon gets a little discouraged, but that doesn't ruin his humor, he was with his friend and in the same way he would learn more about human culture, The dragon spent a while watching with his friend and then walking around the area, he taught some to fight against the zombies that were not a great threat always and When you did not let him touch you and clean the swords well, he did not understand how humans had so much familiarity in the battle against these beings that refuse to die, he considered that humans should have their zombies. The few dragons that were left the camp leaving Ssaull alone with the humans, he would have to work three times to guarantee an entire camp with more than five hundred humans by himself, but he would have several things prepared in case of emergency, which one knows. Proud of his blows, he appreciated her brain and wit more than her strength and set up some traps based on dragon knowledge and war comic knowledge that he read secretly when he could.

"Will you stay up all night?" the dragon sees his friend who sits next to him.

"I'm sorry friend, I can't speak, I must have everything alert to watch," he said without looking at his friend.

"It must be sad to be alone without a friend to accompany you" she passes him a blanket to warm him, the dragon was going to take it from him, he wouldn't need it, but as an act of respect, he decided that it was better to keep it.

"Someday we skeletal dragons will be better received by the other races and things will be different and much better," she said with great hope for that dream.

"I hope yes, the world would be happier with more friends like you," she said resting her head on his arm. "Ssaull if you want, when we find our way home you can come with me"

"How?"

"You know, it might be a little crazy at first, but I promise you that you will be happy, we can do many things together and I will even help you create an account and teach you how to make videos for many. You would be someone very famous and loved by many"

"Haha, that sounds very good, but dragons cannot disturb the peace of your world, it would not be good for you to have a magical and scary lizard-like me near haha" the dragon hugs the girl with its tail.

"I wouldn't want to leave without you friend" she yawns before falling asleep.

"If I could I would like to be able to stay by your side always and see more of your magical world friend" the dragon covers the girl with that blanket and uses his tail as a kind of pillow so that she does not sleep badly.

Thus he lasted a few days of vigilance and helping people who needed the dragon to use his magic or take a flight to check the area from the skies if there were threats nearby. Rebecca was the one who helped Ssaull the most with her vigilance, she gave him some sandwiches and coffee so that he would not burn out so quickly because he was the only dragon who was doing all the work.

On the fourth day the blue dragon saw how Magarai approached the camp with an expression that emanated fury and annoyance, he sensed that the elusive dragon escaped again or was never in such a place, the dragon would avoid sarcastic and funny comments to avoid Magarai's anger and as regarding the dragon.

"Ssaull we must talk, alone" orders the dragon seriously.

"How? I can't leave my post-Magarai"

"Take it easy" she points to some Greater Dragons and several high-level warriors that were in the area. "It's important and believes me we better talk now" she walks away from the camp hoping the dragon will follow her.

Rebecca asks what was happening, to which the dragon tells her that he would only talk to Magarai, maybe she would vent a little because the mission had failed. Rebecca was not sure of that, the looks of the Greater Dragon did not inspire confidence to which he reassures her that they would not do anything crazy because they were the best warriors of the kingdoms, both humans and dragons could trust those brave warriors.

"Very good Magarai. What is it that you need to talk to me about?" the dragon tries to be the most polite in talking about her with her.

"Ssaull this may sound a bit difficult, but it is important that you understand that despite the situation I am here talking to you to show respect to you, no dragon moves a tail, or sword without my permission" she mentions looking at the dragon.

"Ooookey, weird, but it's okay"

"You have two options, you leave and no matter what you hear you will not return to the camp anymore" the dragon reacts confused at this, he leaves and ignores her friend's camp, that is what he shouldn't do.

"Out of curiosity. What gives me the second option?" the dragon asked observing Magarai's hand wielding his sword.

"You will kill every human you see without any mercy" the dragon lets out a laugh thinking it was some kind of cruel joke and in very bad taste, but when he looked at Magarai's gaze, those eyes full of determination he understood that it was not a joke. "Sorry mate, there is no other"

"That can't be true, Queen Erisha would never ask .."

"It was a direct order from the Council of Queen Erisha" she explains.

"And the queen?" he asked why she should avoid an order as radical as that or at least she should approve it.

"She went on a trip to seek wisdom to face Rellix and end his cruel existence" she mentions the dragon was going to move but she takes him by the arm "Ssaull the humans are in cahoots with Captain Rellix, they are a threat and we must eliminate them before they continue to help that insane warrior "

"Lie, they wouldn't get involved with her, they barely get involved with us. That information is false" the dragon releases the ocean dragon's grip. "Not even you could believe such a lie, I mean, what is the justification, what evidence is there to affirm that" the dragon looks at Magarai waiting for an answer.

She shows a scroll which the dragon reads, he tries to deny it, his eyes must have been wrong, the scroll was a compilation of secret messages in human language that the dragon had in its hiding place and from at least one years ago.

"I'm sorry, many of us want you to come, but I release you from that responsibility, if you leave, no one will take your place and I will divide my reward for you, just go and forget these beings for your good friend" she retreats allowing the dragon room to think.

"Even if this is true Magarai. Why punish all of them !? Wouldn't it be better to punish the guilty just !?" the female dragon answered that he would never forget.

"All humans are the same to us"

"It was at that time that Magarai along with several dragons began their merciless slaughter against yours Alexandra" the dragon looks sad at the human who feels worse when listening to him.

"But if so. How did she end up being adopted and loved by Magarai?" she asked, not understanding how the oceanic dragon had felt sorry for her while others died.

"I could not say how or why I adopted you, it is something that I do not know today"

"And your friend. What happened to her?" the greenish dragon reacts uncomfortably to the question.

The dragon remembered that in the middle of the madness he ran looking for his friend to save her, he didn't give a damn if the entire camp had been an ally of Rellix, Rebecca was his best friend and she would never support an anarchist like that female dragon. She had to pretend that he would kill the humans, he only beat them hard to knock him unconscious, hopefully, no one would be interested in burning corpses, he knew that he could not help them all. The only thing he could do was go rescue her best friend, if only he managed to do it if at least he could take her away from the dragons Ssaull would be calm.

"HAHAHA DAMN HUMANS WE FINALLY GET RID OF THEM!"

"WE NO LONGER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SCUMS LIKE HUMANS!"

"IT FEELS SO GOOD TO REMOVE THEM!"

He brushes the dragons out of the way and sees her best friend with a sword wound bleeding to the ground in a pile of corpses, listening to the dragons laugh at her attempts to cling to life.

"Sa .... ully" she extends her hand full of blood with tears in her eyes.

The dragon could perceive her fear of dying, he runs to her aid, desperately places his hand on the wound so that the girl does not lose more blood, he could not think clearly, the dragon with a thousand ways to handle a situation for the first time does not He knew what to do, he felt useless and without ideas, he could only feel his heart tear when he saw her die.

"Ssau" she coughs up some blood.

"Stay with me please, do not dare to die, you must resist, please friend" the dragon did not stop crying for his friend, he did not want to lose her, he could not end their friendship like that.

"I want ... I want to go ... home with ... you ..." she closes her eyes without saying anything else with him feeling destroyed as if he had been done the worst possible wound.

The dragon just screamed in pain and rage at her death cursing the dragons every second. The three Greater Dragons made fun of Ssaull's reaction to a pathetic creature, not even skeletal dragons should empathize with these beings, the blue dragon feeling like his heart was yearning for revenge, directed his gaze to the three dragons, they were scared seeing his gaze. It was the same look of hatred and revenge that only a few warriors had, those eyes made anyone understand that Ssaull even if he had to die would not stop until he killed the three dragons that gave the fatal end to his most precious friend, that day the dragons watched as he was carried away by his hatred and had killed the Greater Dragons of the West in such a heinous and horrible way to make sure their suffering was the worst possible before they died, he had been the first and the last dragon of the skeletons that had been a Greater Dragon and the only one who came to a human without caring about anything or anyone.
