Tamer’s Curse and the Forbidden Beast Eggs

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - The Final Lesson

---

The forest was silent. The trees stood as silent witnesses to the sorrow and pain that filled the place where Fowad knelt beside his father, Sadi Benit, his chest heaving with sobs that seemed to tear through him.

The world felt like it was collapsing around him, every breath sharp and painful, every heartbeat echoing the unbearable loss that surged through his veins.

"Fowad…" Sadi's voice, soft and ragged, pulled him back from the edge of despair.

Fowad's head snapped up, tears streaming down his cheeks as he looked into his father's face, pale and etched with lines of pain.

Sadi's hand trembled as he reached up, resting it on his son's shoulder.

"Listen to me, my son.

We don't… have much time.

There's… still much you need to know."

The words struck Fowad like a blow, and he gripped his father's hand tightly, a desperate plea in his gaze.

"No… don't say that. You'll be fine, we just need to get help, we can..."

"Fowad." Sadi's voice was steady, though his breathing was shallow.

"There's no time. I… I was already wounded before the hunter came.

And now… my spirit beast is gone."

Fowad's breath hitched, the reality sinking in.

When a tamer's beast died, the master, too, would suffer from the bond breaking a searing pain that marked the end of their shared spirit.

His father's spirit tiger had fought bravely, its loyalty and strength unwavering to the last.

But now, Sadi bore the wounds of both their battles, wounds that even the strongest will could not ignore.

Sadi coughed, blood flecking his lips, and he grimaced, pushing through the pain.

"There's no need to worry about the hunter. He's… dead.

But my time here is ending, Fowad. So listen carefully."

Fowad forced back his tears, his heart breaking as he focused on his father's words, willing himself to remember every detail, every nuance.

He owed his father that much, and more.

"You already know… the Taming Circle technique,"

Sadi began, his voice growing weaker.

"But there are… basics of beast taming I haven't taught you yet."

His eyes were fierce, though his body trembled with weakness.

"You'll need them… if you're going to survive."

Fowad nodded, his gaze unwavering, as Sadi continued.

"Once a beast is tamed, it becomes a part of you,"

Sadi explained, his tone urgent, as though he could force his strength into his words alone.

"You and the beast connect by spirit.

That's why we call them spirit beasts.

It's a bond that goes beyond the physical it's a union of souls.

When a master or the beast dies, the other… is injured, sometimes beyond repair."

Sadi paused, his breath ragged, and Fowad squeezed his hand, giving him the strength to continue.

"Our family's technique is unique, one of the most advanced… and that's why so many sought to destroy us."

Obtaining our ancestors legacy. That's was your goal.

His gaze grew distant, as though reliving memories long buried.

"They formed alliances, betrayed us.

They couldn't stand the thought of a Benit rising to power."

He coughed again, harder this time, but he pushed forward, a fierce resolve in his eyes. "Our technique has five levels, Fowad.

Just as there are five ranks of beasts we can tame.

I never had the chance… to master them all. But you… you have to. For our family."

He took a shuddering breath, his hand tightening on Fowad's shoulder.

"Remember them well, my son.

The ranks are…

Basic

Normal

Advanced

General

King

His voice grew softer, almost a whisper.

"In ancient times, there were rumors of a level beyond, a beast rank known as… Emperor.

Our ancestors were among the few who could tame such beasts.

But that knowledge… was lost to us."

Fowad's heart ached at the thought of his ancestors, the legends he'd grown up hearing, the pride he had felt in their legacy.

Now, all that was left was a fading dream and his father's words.

"Our Taming Circle technique has five levels as well,"

Sadi continued, his voice growing fainter.

"The first Circle is for Basic beasts, and the fifth is for King beasts.

Our ancestors said that our clan is cursed that's why no one able to hatch the ancestoral legacy egg.

Our ancestors was the first person who was cursed. Then the curse was passed down by generations.

When someone worthy comes and hatch the egg our clan curse will be broken.

I know you will be that person Fowad.

The Emperor level technique… was lost in the war that destroyed our family.

But you… you can still honor them.

You can… bring our name back from the shadows."

He looked at Fowad with an intensity that seemed to burn through his fading strength. "It's your duty, Fowad.

Don't abandon our family. Free our people… free the prisoners of the Benit line.

"They're counting on you."

I always wanted too tell you a secret but couldn't bring myself to tell you.

When I flee from the enemy your mother was pregnant. You might have a young sibling.

I know the enemy will never harm your mother, but your sibling will be prisoner forever. Until you free him/her.

Fowad felt a surge of determination rise within him, a resolve that settled in his bones, giving him strength even as his heart shattered.

He nodded, his voice thick with emotion. "I'll do it, Father. I swear." I will free everyone. No matter what I will find my brother/ sister and my mother.

Sadi's expression softened, pride shining in his gaze.

"Good. I knew… I could trust you."

He shifted slightly, wincing as he reached into his cloak, pulling out a small bundle of aged parchment.

"These are the pages of the Taming Circle technique I managed to save.

It's… incomplete, but it's all we have left."

He placed the bundle in Fowad's hands, his grip firm.

"Read them carefully, understand them… and then burn them.

Only pass the technique to those who will honor our family."

Fowad's hands trembled as he took the pages, the weight of his family legacy pressing down on him like a mountain.

He nodded, clutching the bundle to his chest.

Sadi smiled faintly, though it was tinged with sadness.

"There's more you should know," he said, his voice fading.

"Once you form a Taming Circle, you can create a beast space, a place within your spirit where your beast will stay until you summon it.

And remember… you can upgrade your beast's power using different methods.

Our family's method is written on those pages… but keep it secret."

He coughed again, his whole body shuddering, but he continued.

"This forest… is dangerous, Fowad.

It's one of the most treacherous places in the world.

But you must survive. Do whatever you have to.

Don't hesitate, don't falter. No matter what you face… live."

Sadi's eyes flickered, a shadow passing over his face as he glanced past Fowad.

"There's… there's no time left. Go… run."

A faint sound reached Fowad's ears the low growl of a beast, the rustle of leaves as something approached, drawn by the scent of blood.

"Father…" Fowad's voice was choked with grief, his heart breaking as he clung to his father's hand.

Sadi looked at him, his gaze steady, filled with a love that seemed to transcend the mortal realm. "Live, Fowad.

For me. For our family."

Then, slowly, Sadi's eyes closed, his breathing growing shallow until, finally, it ceased altogether.

The silence that followed was absolute, crushing, a void that seemed to swallow Fowad whole.

For a moment, he couldn't move, his mind numb, his body frozen in place as he stared at his father's still form.

The world felt empty, hollow, as if all meaning had been drained from it in an instant.

Then, a low howl broke the silence, echoing through the forest.

Fowad's heart lurched, and he remembered his father's last words do whatever you must to survive.

He wanted to bury his father, to honor him properly, but he knew he couldn't stay.

He was too weak, too vulnerable, and the beasts of the Sapling Forest were closing in, drawn by the scent of death.

With one last, heart wrenching look at his father, Fowad rose to his feet, the bundle of technique pages clutched tightly in his hand, the weight of his satchel pressing against his side.

He turned, every step feeling like a betrayal, and began to run, his movements mechanical, his mind still trapped in the agony of loss.

The forest loomed around him, dark and ominous, the shadows seeming to reach out, clawing at his spirit as he stumbled through the underbrush.

His body ached, his legs felt heavy, but he forced himself to keep moving, his father's voice echoing in his mind.

"Live. Do whatever you must."

The sound of beasts drew closer, their howls filling the night, hungry and relentless.

Fowad pushed himself harder, his breathing ragged as he fought his way through the dense foliage, his vision blurred with tears.

Ahead, he saw a narrow path winding through the trees, barely visible in the dim light.

He followed it, his mind focused on one thought: survival.

Every instinct screamed at him to keep going, to put as much distance as possible between himself and the beast.

As he ran, the shadows seemed to close in, the forest alive with the sounds of predators prowling just beyond his sight.

His heart pounded, his pulse a frantic beat in his ears
