Chapter 32: On The Ship

Jack And Lyya

Jack held a telephone in his hands talking with someone over the phone. The brown-haired male was dressed in a white tucked-in chiffon top that exposed a bit of his masculine chest, highwaist brown pants, and he also wrapped his neck in a black scarf.

"I promise," Jack spoke over the line in a booth. He was speaking with Charles.

"Make sure she's okay and pass her transition," boomed Charles' voice from over the phone, but it wasn't that clear though. "And make sure to return back to London when everything's done. You have a wedding to attend to."

The line was cut and those last words made Jack's heart hurt with a feeling as though something heavy dropped on it.

Jack soliloquized, "Yeah, whatever. Be responsible, obey the Alpha's commandments, marry Clarissa, don't be happy," He came out from the booth and left for the ship, but on his way, his eyes caught Lyya.

Fair head Lyya was dressed in a long red dress so fashionable and stunning. She had a box in her hands and smirked as she conversed with her mother.

"Lyya," Jack breathed then tried putting himself back together.

Lyya's words sounded to her mother like a poet trying to wow the audience, "Mother, I'll be fine. I'll take care of myself and I'm sure your prayers will help."

A bit-plumpy miss Daise , with her gloved hands took her daughter's palms. She tutted then caressed Lyya's hair. "Poor kid. You don't deserve any of this tragedy. I wont lie, this is unbelievable, I will believe it anyone was to tell be this was made up."

Lyya pronounced, "Mother."

"I know, know. We're all trying to adapt. But wake me up when this is over." They both laughed. Lyya's red shaded lips curved for a smile.

This took Jack's breath away.

Lyya and her mother hugged and the Alpha's son adored this picture from where he stood.

Lyya disconnected from the hug and proceeded to being on her way to the large ship, but on the verge of going, she stumbled upon Jack. He was nervous, if one were to describe it like that.

"Well don't just stand there, help me out with this bag." Lyya urged, placing her bag to his stomach, lightly. She was about going but returned to him to say with a smirk, "Or does the Alpha's son not engage in such activity?" Her smirk caused Jack to smile.

"Oh boy!" Lyya's heels thuded against the deck as she made her way towards the large ship, mentally prepared. Trust the Loggmans. Luxury was compulsory, despite the reason behind the mission.

Jack thrust the bag against a guard's stomach, who had come to meet him, coming out of his reverie. "Take this." His voice sounded firm.

He spoke to Lyya, "There's nothing to worry about, the Moon Rose is like a medicine for werewolves. It reduces pain and helps mend your spirit with your wolf so you can easily transform to your wolf when you want."

Lyya replied, "What if I don't want to ever transform to my wolf?"

Jack was stunned there for a moment. They were both on the ship now. "Ummm… that'll be your choice. And that's rare."

"Welcome on board," A fine tall lady in a long skirt and loosed long-sleeve interrupted with a smile. Her teeth was so white it could make another jealous by just staring. "I'm Martha and I'm here to make sure you have a nice trip on this ship. Mr. Jack Loggman and Miss Lyya, the captain will be greeting you shortly after now."

"Okay, I'll like to see the ship's crew to make sure everything's alright.

"Miss, Lyya, please follow me." the woman beckoned her.

'Miss Lyya.' These words irked her senses, causing her pain in her heart because, 'It would've been Mrs. Jack by now.'

Jack went closer to Lyya to whisper something in ear. "Don't fright, Ly, she's a werewolf like you. Don't worry, you'll be able to sense your fellow werewolves too in no time." Jack words.

"What if I don't want to?"

"Lyya," he comforted her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "You'll have to get used to it. Sometimes things happen in life we don't want, but we have to make something out of what is thrown at us." He then smiled. "Looking to the bright side, you'll be joining my pack and I happen to be the Alpha's son."

She shifted from him with folded arms, possessing a gloomy look.

His voice then lowered. "Lyya, it isn't that bad. Remember that time we were together, lying on a field moon gazing? I remember when you told me the moon was lovely and I told you I felt connected to it. Lyya, we can both be connected to it and I'm sure it's still lovely. Wolves draw energy from the moon and the feeling is so invigorating, trust me. Well get to be together forever."

Jack forgot himself there, lost in his words. He cleared his throat a bit when he realized how he sounded.

Lyya shifted in discomfort and had to bite down a bitter taste in her mouth. A heavy lump was in her throat as she remembered, infact, will never forget that the love of her life was to get married to some else who is said to be pregnant for him.

She needed not cry. Especially not in front of Martha who was patiently waiting for them by a corner, obviously giving them a bit amount of space.

"Martha! Let's go to the room." She had managed to bite down her tears. It seemed as though Jack had lots of words to say, but he withdrew out of respect as they both were suffering from heartbreak.

Jack clung to rails covering his mouth. 'Shit! Way to go, Jack. How wonderful to start ths trip this way.' He painfully, with all amount of regret tuned back with an arm still on the ship railings to stare at Lyya walk away with Martha.

"Dammit, Jack! Why do always have to be a fool!? If you had just tried being wise or at least serious with your life for even just once, maybe, just maybe we wouldn't be in this shit."

Said all of these in soliloquy.

'I'm such a fool.'

Lyya And Martha In A Room.

"I'm here in case you need anything," Martha stood still like a soldier.

Lyya was in her bed, trying to make herself comfortable by arranging some things. She gave a thought before saying, "You're married."

"Yes," replied Martha. She guessed her madam must've seen her ring which was so shiny almost giving out the amount of joy she enjoyed in her marriage.

"You must feel very lucky," Lyya smiled. It just happened that her face reflected how gloomy she felt on the inside.

Martha didn't know what to say, possessing the knowledge of what happened between her madam and the Alpha's son. She wanted to sound nice. "Umm.. thank you, but.. you know there are good and bad moments."

Lyya instantly regretted showing her inward feeling. "Uh, apologies. I didn't mean..I shouldn't have.." She became embarrassed, trying to brush it off with a smile and chuckle.

Martha went closer to her to sit on the bed. "If I may?" Lyya was surprised. "Woman to woman. Men aren't as smart as us women. They can be the best and loveliest sometimes but their poor mindset and poor discipline gets the best of them. My dear Ibrahim was so shy the first time we met, I was the loud party type, it just so happened that he attended the same party as I that night. I recall how he stuttered just to say hi to me the first time. My husband, Ibrahim promised the world until one night when I forgot something, I went home and caught him with a girl I had never seen in my life. They indulged in unspeakable actuons. She was far younger than me but that wasn't a good explanation."

Lyya was worried. "So how did that make you feel? You must hate him."

"Oh, no. Infact I decided to love him more because as as woman, I needed to stitch the home perfectly if not it'd rip into shreds. It made me so sad and confused but we have kids and I wouldn't want to break their hearts with a divorce. I decided to forgive Ibrahim, not because I wanted to, but because I needed to. He was so wrong for hurting me and I had the choice to divorce him, but that's what they call love. A force in you that drives you to do one of the craziest things ever. That's love for me. Now I and Ibrahim are so happy together."

Lyya scoffed. "You're so strong. I don't think I'll ever love again."

Martha rose. "Oh, well. I'll be off on my way, in case you need anything I'll be just a call away."

Lady Lyya smiled. "I'm fine. Just feeling light headaches and a muscle pains."

"I would've given you painkillers but I'm not sure that'll would have a tad effect. The Moon Rose will heal you."

As Martha was leaving, a man in a sailor's uniform stood outside the door. He got her attention, compelling her to rise."

"Lady Lyya. Sir Jack has a letter for you." The man gave her a card. "It's an invitation to a JITTERBUG DANCE PARTY."

Surprise overwhelmed her. She held her chest thinking, even in her state Jack wanted them to bond over dance? 'Has he forgotten I'm transforming into a wolf, suffering from serious pain?'

Taking the envelope in her hands, she said, "Let me see that."
