Chapter 6: chapter 06 : Thoughts
Amazing I feel vigor
Feeling refreshed at my awakening , I closed my eyes to sense my newly formed mana core.
"Eli ! MY BABY! Are you okay?"
I spotted my mother rushing towards me while Riva was on the ground kneeling .
My mother lifted me up and hugged me, almost to the point where my underdeveloped ribs gave out.
I managed to squeal out a "Mom, no cry . What's wrong?"
She didn't answer me and continued sobbing while cradling me. Riva arrived next to us , patting me on the head while giving me a weak smile .
After a brief moment , I peeled my head away from my mother's bosom and I looked around to see that we were standing in the center of a giant crater.
"Congrats honey . You awakened. " "..."
I felt gilt as i see our backyard half destroyed by my awakening , an explosion of this scale was not in my calculation .
"I'm sorry Mom . Am I in trouble?"
"Haha... No Eli honey, you're not in trouble. I was just worried about you. I'm glad you're alright. "
My mother managed to chuckle through half teary eyes.
After some time passed, I was stinging in this awkwardly quiet table looking down at my worst enemy from my past life an eggplant cut into stars and hearts placed beside the meat on my plate , do you think if you changed how you look i will not recognize you , eggplant.
——————————————-
A couple of weeks had passed since then. We decided to keep my awakening a secret for now. My mother managed to contact an Adventurer member conjurer with an earth affinity to rebuild the decimated part of our backyard . the backyard didn't take too long to finish , The beauty of magic! .
my birthday came around (May 24 ) . My mom woke me up that morning with a present and a cake which surprisingly was delicious.
I recently found out that I was one year younger than Arthur.
He joined school at 12 or 12 an half then goes to Eupheotus at around 13 , He trains there for 2.5 year. Returns around 15, so if my calculations is right i have 11 years give or take.
I have eleven years to get strong enough to have an effect on the course of the war , time is too short .
I couldn't care less if Arthur is the main character of this world , as long as it doesn't interfere with me, because it's almost impossible for him to know who I am, or rather who I was. The only question is how can I use my knowledge of this world to my advantage , because I know how strong Arthur will get in the future , it also means I'll have to stay one step ahead of him while appearing to be behind so that the enemies do not notice me and to have little to no butterfly effect in this world i know it's impossible but I'll try anyway .
Being average in a world where there is Asuras who can wipe out an entire city is tantamount to suicide.
Could me and Arthur rely on each other in the future ? Would I unconsciously assist him in getting out of bad situations ? Looking at it now, the answer is No.
if I had to abandon him, I would do so without hesitation as long as it ensured my survival. But that doesn't take away the glimmer of hope that one day we'll be able to rely on each other , that I won't just see him as a means to an end.
Opening the present box to find a beautiful necklace , I hugged my mom , thanking her for the present and the cake.
As soon as I turned three, my mother began giving me lessons for a set time, teaching me how to read and write. Playing the role of a genius son, I pretended to learn quickly, to her delight, so I could read books in the library without drawing suspicion .
These last couple of weeks passed by in a flash. After awakening, my mother taught me the basics of mana manipulation and how to start training in it as best as she could . She tried to simplify it as much as possible so that a toddler could understand.
While the lessons with my mother proved useful, I was getting impatient at the pace we were moving at • l asked mother a couple days later, "Mom, can I get books on magic?"
she managed to acquire a pretty wide collection of books on basic mana manipulation, as well as fighting with different weapons. Some of them were just books with only simple words and mostly pictures of the basics on how mana was condensed, but l ignored those. My mother gave me a strange look because the books that I'd been looking at were on a higher level. She assumed I wouldn't even be able to understand most of the words in there and tried to cajole me into reading some of the simpler books, saying that it would be easier to understand, but eventually she relented .
A typical day would involve taking reading and writing lessons from mother and augmenting training . After she covered the basic theory and application of augmenting, i started my physical training with Riva . Seeing how my body was too small to start sparring, we opted with running, and body workouts. I think seeing my three-year-old body trying to do a pushup would be the funniest thing, because Riva didn't hold in her laughter.
After finishing my body workout Riva will stretches my body in a very painful ways I didn't complain about it because i know the result will be increase in muscle control , flexibility and range of motion.
When I'm not taking either of these lessons, I usually stayed cooped up my room , reading and meditating to further condense and purify my mana core and have more understanding about it , also I'm trying to learn Mana Rotation it's a very important skill to have.
The teachings of Sylvia allowed Arthur to be able to continuously absorb mana from the atmosphere while moving or in combat. This ability is one used by mana beasts and is learned by them at a very young age. Sylvia commented that the reason why Arthur was able to learn this was because of how young he was when he created his mana core so I'm putting a lot of effort into learning it.
Two years passed by with not much happening outside of my typical schedule .
