Thane Astris: The Starborn Wizard

Chapter 17: 16) Seeds of the Future

While the world was boiling over the sixth Sense and Home Alone, Thane was in his home with Amelia and James, trying to convince them to invest according to his research by presenting them with his detailed research data.

It was a quiet evening in the Astris household, the golden light from the chandelier casting a warm glow over the dining room. Thane sat at the head of the table, his eyes scanning the financial reports he'd spent days analyzing. Amelia was sipping tea, and James was reading a book, seemingly unaware of the storm that was brewing in Thane's mind.

"Mum, Dad," Thane began, his voice calm but commanding. "I've been thinking a lot about our future. Specifically, how we can secure it financially—not just for us, but for generations to come."

James glanced up from his book, raising an eyebrow. "And how exactly do you suggest we do that, son?"

Thane leaned forward, folding his hands. "I've been researching the stock market, and I believe we should invest heavily. I'm talking $50 to $60 million."

Amelia nearly choked on her tea. "Wait, what? Fifty to sixty million?"

Thane nodded, unflinching. "Yes. With the right investments, we could see returns that far surpass anything we've made in entertainment or other ventures."

James lowered his book, the intrigue clear in his expression. "That's a significant amount, Thane. Are you sure about this? It's not a small risk."

Thane's blue eyes gleamed with confidence. "I've studied the markets. I know the industries that are about to explode. Apple, Microsoft, Intel, and IBM are on the verge of major breakthroughs. Their growth over the next decade will be massive, and we need to be part of that. And that's just the tech. stock we are talking about."

Amelia shook her head. "I understand that you're smart, Thane, but $50 million? That's a huge gamble, especially for something that's not guaranteed."

"I know it sounds risky, but these aren't just regular companies. These are the companies shaping the future—personal computers, semiconductors, software. We've seen how tech is already changing the world, and it's only going to accelerate. If we wait, we'll miss the wave." Thane paused for a moment to let his words sink in. "This isn't just about making money—it's about securing our place in history."

James stroked his chin, considering. "What makes you so sure they'll succeed, though? Even the most successful companies have their ups and downs."

Thane smiled, a hint of a secretive gleam in his eyes. "It's all about timing. Apple's new line of personal computers is groundbreaking, and Microsoft's software updates are about to revolutionize how people work. Intel's expansion into new markets is an untapped goldmine. IBM is pivoting into future technologies. I've done the math. These companies are as solid as they come, and in ten years, they'll dominate the market."

Amelia and James exchanged glances. "How did you even come to this conclusion?" James asked, clearly skeptical but intrigued.

"I've been tracking the markets for months. Studying the trends, the companies' earnings reports, and their development strategies. And I've seen enough to be certain that this investment is the right move. If we move quickly, we can get in at a low point. Once these companies' projects hit, their stock prices will skyrocket."

James leaned back in his chair, contemplating. "That's a bold proposition, Thane. But this kind of money... it's hard to just throw around without knowing for sure."

Thane didn't flinch. "I'm not suggesting we throw it around blindly. I've mapped out every detail. We spread the investment across these four companies and monitor their performance closely. We stay ahead of the curve, adapting as the market shifts. I'll handle the research, and you just need to trust me."

Amelia sighed, the weight of the decision pressing down on her. "It's not just the money we'd be investing—it's our future. Are you absolutely sure about this?"

Two years ago, they wouldn't have even entertained the thought. But in the past two years, Thane had shown them enough miracles to prove he was far from ordinary. They marveled at his brilliance, recognizing him as a true prodigy. No matter the field—movies, music, novels, art, or academics—Thane not only excelled but redefined excellence itself, consistently surpassing their highest expectations.

They hesitated, unsure if Thane's genius in the arts would translate to the vastly different realm of finance. Yet, the way he had been voraciously absorbing knowledge in this field reassured them. They knew Thane wouldn't propose such an idea without being more than 90% certain of its success.

Thane looked at her with a steady gaze. "I wouldn't ask if I weren't. This is our chance to build something lasting. Think of it as planting the seeds for the future—our future, and the future of everything we've built."

James looked at Amelia, his expression unreadable for a moment. Then, he met Thane's gaze. "You've always been impressive, kid. I never thought I'd see the day where you'd be suggesting multi-million-dollar investments. But... you've convinced me. I'll back you on this."

Amelia, though still hesitant, nodded slowly. "Alright, Thane. If you're sure this is the right move, we'll support you. But you're going to have to keep us in the loop every step of the way. We can't afford to be blindsided. Even when you are in school, you will have to keep a close eye on the market and correspond to us timely."

Amelia and James shared an unspoken agreement: while they would independently verify the accuracy and credibility of Thane's decisions, they would never stifle his ambitions simply because they seemed risky.

Thane grinned, his heart pounding with excitement. "I'll make sure of it. This is going to be the start of something incredible. Thank you, Mum. Thank you, Dad."

As the conversation turned to the logistics of setting up the investments, Thane felt a wave of satisfaction wash over him. He knew this was just the beginning. With their support, the Astris family would secure its place in the world—both in Hollywood and in the ever-evolving world of business.

Thane knew the importance of a trustworthy ally so he talked with his parents to make sure that all their allies are loyal, upright and trustworthy.
