Just after Samuel and the rest of the youths sat around the table, with the city Lord occupying the seat at the head of the table, with several high-ranking officials sitting on either side closer to the city Lord, the food was finally served.

Several servants immediately began serving food, according to the wishes of the people around them. Of course, they started with the city Lord, then to the high level officials, and finally to the youths.

At this point, it was clear to everyone that the city Lord was not trying to favor anyone just because of the talent that they possessed. But they understood that this was not going to be the case for the next part.

Samuel on the other hand did not focus on the things or the people around him. Instead, he simply looked at the food that had been placed in front of him.

It was a dish that comprised of meat and vegetables. The aroma that was coming from the food in front of him was attractive, immediately arousing Samuel's appetite.

Without much thought, he used the fork and took a piece of meat from the plate. He placed it into his mouth, then began chewing.

It was just that the moment that the meat entered into his mouth, Samuel felt that something had happened. It felt that there was a sudden change within his body, but he could not tell what exactly it was.

On the other hand, Samuel appreciated the taste of the meat, as he went ahead and picked yet another piece of meat from the plate and ate it. He went ahead and tried the vegetables as well, and realized that they were all exquisitely prepared.

And just as the city Lord had said, it was clear that the ingredients that had been used in order to prepare the meal were of high quality.

Samuel had never eaten meat from a monster before. After all, ordinary people could not handle the meat from a monster. Otherwise, they would be affected if they ingested it.

Only beast tamers were capable of taking the meat without being affected. In fact, they would gain benefits from taking monster meat, which was the exact reason why it was expensive, other than the reason that it was quite risky to hunt monsters.

As Samuel and the others continued eating, Samuel noticed something. It was the fact that although he had already eaten quite an amount of food until then, he did not feel like he was getting satiated at all.

Even the city Lord was currently observing Samuel, wondering what was happening with this youth. Even for himself, with his current power level, he believed that it would not be possible for him to be able to eat so much food.

But of course, that was not something that he was that much concerned about. Instead, he was concerned about the amount of energy that was getting accumulated in Samuel's body.

Considering that the ingredients that were used in the preparation of the meal here were all of high quality that could only be found in areas where monsters were, together with monsters meat, it was clear that they possessed a high amount of energy.

Once a plate was cleared of its contents, another one would replace it, and the empty plate would be taken away. And right now, Samuel had cleared out all the food that had been prepared, other than the ones that had already been eaten by the others.

At this moment, Samuel felt that there was quite a huge amount of energy that was within his body. It was just that there was something strange. The golden light that was within his body had enveloped this energy, and the energy was not doing anything within his body.

Samuel understood that it seemed that the golden light was restricting the energy from exploding, implying that he could not advance in his strength.

Instinctively, Samuel felt that he could actually refine that energy. And the moment that he began thinking of that, a small amount of energy was actually released by the golden light, and Samuel felt that his strength had increased slightly.

Immediately after noticing that, Samuel stopped thinking about refining the energy, and no more energy was released by the golden light. This was definitely not the time and place for him to refine the energy.

And as he looked up, Samuel noticed that everyone around was staring at him. Of course, Samuel understood the reason why that was the case, but he really did not know what to say about the situation. Everything just felt instinctive.
