The Ancient Revelation: Rewrite

- "What about you, Jack?"

Jack gets up, dusting himself.

- "As good as can be, considering I've been fighting non-stop for almost six hours, give or take."

Harumi softly punches his chest, laughing.

- "Good job, warrior."

Jack goes with it, as he sees that Harumi's holding a few files on her left hand.

- "I suppose you didn't come here for the postmatch, did you?"

- "Nope!"

Harumi hands Jack the files she's holding.

- "This is for you."

- "What is it?"

- "How the hell should I know? You're the mad scientist, not me."

- "That's a fair point, I guess."

Jack looks beyond Harumi, seeing Akio still laying on the ground.

"Can you hold this again for a minute?"

Harumi notices where Jack is holding, nodding affirmatively. Jack thanks her, as he walks towards Akio, and Aoi steps back so they can look eye to eye.

"It was a pleasure sparring with you, leader."

- "Likewise, mad scientist."

That remark makes everyone chuckle, as Jack extends his hand to Akio, who accepts. As he gets up, his top is also ripped apart, revealing some shallow scars around his forearms and back.

"How about we do this again sometime?"

- "Hell yeah. Some good sparring every once in a while takes the edge off."

Akio and Jack fist bump, as Harumi comes to the trio, handing Jack his files, and Akio starts talking.

- "So... How about we have a General Council?"

The Fire General's idea makes the other three think about it, but they agree. After all, a good start to their new career would be appreciated. The Generals reply positively to Akio.

"Alright then! I'll see you at the council room in thirty minutes. By the way, do you know where Genkei and Alexa1 are?"

To this, Harumi speaks up.

- "They're probably on the way. That's what they told me when I called them, at least."

- "That's good enough. I'll give them a call too."

Afterwards, Jack and Harumi go to their respective offices, as Akio and Aoi go to the front office to call the missing two Generals.

As I turn to the front, I look up to the giant paining above the office: the original Shining Generals. Seeing that painting makes my heart beat with excitement, as my eyes always lock onto the man in the middle: Theos Phoenix, my predecessor and the strongest Shining General in history.

After admiring the painting for a few seconds, I start off by calling Genkei. Knowing him, he'll be taking his sweet ass time coming.

- "Hey, it's Akio. Where are you?"

-

- "Hm?"

I widen my eyes. What Genkei said took me by surprise. Encounters with the Dark Wizard's soldiers are a bit uncommon inside the city, after all.

- "..Alright. Just so you know, we're gonna be having a General Council. We'll interrogate him there."

- "How about you being actually too strong..? By the way, is it me or are you treating this far too lightly?"

-

- "Alright, I'll trust your word. Oh, yeah. Do you know where Alexa is?"

-

- "No. I'll call her-"

Suddenly, an alarm rings on my watch. As I check it out, it's an emergency signal.. by Alexa.

"Genkei.. I gotta go. Leave the goon to Aoi."

Akio rushes outside of the building, leaving Aoi back in the front office and the phone hanging, since he didn't hang up. Genkei can be heard, trying to scream out to Akio.

...

Aoi is just standing there. Akio didn't tell her anything before leaving, but she could hear what he was saying to Genkei. After a few seconds, she steps towards the entrance of the building, to see if Genkei is close.

"Hey! Aoi, catch! I'm going after Akio!"

- "What..?"

Suddenly, Genkei passes through Aoi, throwing the unconscious soldier of the Dark Wizard to her. Aoi grabs him, but she looks as Genkei follows Akio1. Meanwhile, in an alley..

A woman with red and orange hair is fighting off three men wearing the same outfit as the Wizard's soldier; she had been ambushed. The woman is Alexa, who somewhat keeping up with all three soldiers at once.

Alexa isn't using any magic at all, though, as she blocks incoming attacks and counters with just her two bare hands, trying to minimize collateral damage. The soldiers, however, don't share the same sentiment; they're going all-out against her. Magic, weapons, you name it.

After a while, Alexa manages to knock one soldier out, but she's been exhausted and injured.

- "Damn it... Where are you, Akio?"

Instantly, as if having materialized her wish, Akio appears, kicking away both of the soldiers.

- "Sorry for being late, Alexa. You alright?"

- "Yeah..."

Alexa slowly stands up, as Akio tells her to head to the headquarters.

- "Leave this one to me. Harumi and Aoi are at the headquarters already, so they'll probably help patch you up. Genkei is on his way too."

- "I can't leave you alone, Akio. I can still fight."

- "The use of magic is forbidden unless it's an emergency and you're weakened, Alexa. You did well until now. Go."

Alexa reluctantly nods, as she heads back. Meanwhile, Akio looks back at the two soldiers, who have gotten up.

- "Ho.. the leader himself has come for us. We're flattered."

- "Unfortunately for you, the beating you'll receive won't be that flattering."

Akio rushes at the two soldiers, punching one in the face, knocking him down, and dragging the other's head through the right wall of the alley and dropping him to the front. The soldier starts bleeding, as Akio redirects his focus on the first one.

"Looks like Alexa did a good job."

The soldier slowly gets up, but Akio swiftly kicks him up, as he rapidly punches the soldier in the torso. The hits cause the soldier to vomit blood, as Akio finishes his combo off with a punch to the face back down, this time making sure he stays down.

"Now, time to take you three back."

Akio walks towards the unconscious bodies, but suddenly...

- "Die!"
