The Ancient Revelation: Rewrite

Alexa's scream alerts Akio, who looks at her and then at the soldiers. They suddenly stand up, their bodies lifeless.. but their eyes bright purple.

- "Jack.. I gotta go."

Akio looks towards Genkei and Alexa.

"Don't think, just attack them!"

Finishing his sentence, Akio shoots a fireball at the four soldiers, which barely damages them. Alexa summons a small wave of magma which melts their bodies slightly, but they lunge at the three Generals somewhat unharmed. Genkei jumps up, punching one soldier in the face with his wind magic, destroying his jaw.

- "How about this..?"

Genkei steps back, wanting to see if this put the soldier down for good.. but it did not. The undead soldier stands up, some of his upper teeth falling out, his jaw.. missing, to say the least.

Meanwhile, Alexa is fending off against two soldiers, this time faring far better since she's able to use her full power. She uses her magma magic to burn the torso of one soldier while kicking the other away, but it still doesn't seem to stop either of them.

- "Why aren't they dying..!?"

Akio, meanwhile, is defending against the soldier that's going up against him. After allowing him to attack, the General pucnhes him in the face before ripping one of his legs off.

- "Let's see..."

As the Fire General prepares to continue his attack, the soldier suddenly uses an explosion attack to knock him back. Granted, Akio wasn't affected much, but this bought the undead enough time to grab his leg.

He tries to reattach it, but initially, nothing happens. Akio considers this pitiful, until purple flames appear between the point of connection.. and the leg is indeed reattached.

"Guys, watch out! Their can reattach their limbs!"

This alarms both Alexa and Genkei, the latter ripping a hole through his undead.

- "So..? Should we attack their heads or something?"

...

That was it.

- "You idiots..! Of course!"

Alexa yells at both Akio and Genkei, as the three immediately head for the weak spot they just realized is there. However, the undead don't make it easy for them at all. Genkei is kicked in the face, as Akio is tripped up.

In the meanwhile, Alexa is using magma magic to melt the soldiers enough to be able to attack their heads without resistance. However, she didn't realize that Akio was attacked before, and...

As expected, an explosion also knocks Alexa back. The soldiers crawl out of the magma, as the purple flames appear in the melted edges of their bodies.. regenerating their limbs. This shocks her and the others.

Of course, Akio saw one soldier reattach his leg. However.. regeneration? This will be tough. Genkei uses his wind magic to immobilize his soldier, taking note of the explosions and falling back before he can get hit.

That worked wonders, as the explosion doesn't do anything different. However, Genkei doesn't attempt to play around. He instantly charges up wind magic in his fist, hitting the undead directly in the head, completely destroying it.

A few seconds pass. Suddenly, black flames come out of the soldier's head, as the body starts turning into ash...

- "So that did the trick. Alexa, heads up!"

Genkei runs towards Alexa, jump kicking one of the undead.

"I'll take one now. Focus on the other one."

- "Right."

Alexa grabs onto the soldier, headbutting him and using her magma magic to melt his head. This was easy to do, considering that trying to focus on two soldiers was hard and trying to kill one off would result in the other one attacking.

As with the other one, the soldier turns to ash too, as Genkei finishes off his soldier. Meanwhile, Akio is taking his time, making sure he fully gauges the strength of these undead. Now, the soldier is fighting even better.

- "So.. they get stronger the longer they fight post mortem, huh?"

Akio trips the soldier, planting him into the ground, but the soldier retaliates with a blast. Expecting this, Akio simply uses his fire magic to destroy both the blast and his fist, punching his head over and over again.

While it's not a very flashy death, Akio wanted to make sure that the undead died. After a few punches, he uses another fireball to make sure that the head is destroyed fully. Akio jumps back, and the soldier's body turns into ash.

"How bizzare.. Genkei, Alexa, let's go. We can't dwell on this any longer."

- "Go where exactly, Akio Phoenix?"

The three Generals freeze in place, hearing a voice that they don't recognize. Suddenly, a few figures descend from the air. Most of them appear to be the Wizard's soldiers, but...

In front of me stands a man with long, black hair and light blue eyes; presumably a lightning magic user.

- "Who are you?"

- "The one whom you neglected."

After thinking for a second, I realize the man's identity.. somewhat.

- "So.. you are the Dark Wizard's commander."

- "Bingo."

Suddenly, the man appears just centimeters in front of me, with a blast aimed at my stomach.

- "However.. it's not the. It's one of."

The man releases the blast, knocking me back significantly.

Akio lunges at him, but the commander is two steps ahead. He jumps back, avoiding Akio's punches, but the General expected it. Akio steps to the side, throwing a fireball below them.

This does trip the commander, as Akio kicks him in the back before releasing a barrage of fireballs at the soldiers.

- "'One of', my ass. You're still too weak. Genkei, Alexa, take care of the soldiers."

Genkei and Alexa nod, as Akio runs towards the commander, continuing his attack. Suddenly, however, the commander appears behind him.

- "Too naive."

The move shocks Akio, who slowly looks behind him.

"You're still too naive, Akio. Too young. Too inexperienced."

Genkei looks towards them, sensing a change within the commander. His magic..!

- "Akio, watch out! He has--"

Before Genkei would be able to complete his sentence, a soldier attacks him, as the Wind General is forced to get back into his own battle.

The commander's eyes turn orange as he creates a fireball, aiming it directly at Akio's face.

"Too weak."

Akio's eyes widen. He thought that the commander was a user of lightning magic, but two attributes..?

The blast is fired. Akio's face is injured, as he's thrown into the ground.

- "Damn.. you.."

Akio tries to get up, seeing the commander in front of him.

- "I'll be waiting. Get stronger, Akio Phoenix."

Leaving his parting words behind, the commander flies away...
