The Angel That Became Obsessed With The Most Superior Human

Chapter 12: Meeting Classmates

There is a girl… No, a woman. She cries, seems in pain, but has no physical injuries. She was on the ground, her head down as if defeated and humiliated. Yamato just stood there, unphased, Perplexed even. A building, crushed to pieces and covered in flames. Bodies everywhere. Only three people seem to have survived whatever happened. Yamato himself, Yuki and the other woman. Yuki seems happy. She stands next to the woman, teasing and poking her. She seems to have fun seeing the woman's misery, reveling in it. Could she be the cause? But what was Yamato doing there? He didn't know. Just when he was about to look at the womans face… He woke up.

A dream. What a silly dream, he thought. He could interpret into it, but why bother? Seemed like a waste of time.

He stared at the ceiling. Today they would officially start their school life. The enrollment ceremony would start at the early afternoon, and then the had a short class introduction and their first lesson. Yamato wondered how it would be to step into a social life like school. He can't say he has much practical experience in that area, but it should be fine. The bigger problem was Yuki. Speaking of which…

"Master, are you awake? Look at my school uniform! How does it suit me? Do you like it? Call me pretty!"

He let out a small sigh at that. She had nested into his dorm, whenever she got the chance. He did lock his door last night, but of course that didn't stop her from being here when he woke up. Though she can't really blame her. It was quite boring to just sit around all day. They already explored the school in one day, and had nothing to do until now. Still, she was quite clingy and that probably won't change even when they have activities to do.

"Master, are you listening??"

"Yeah, yeah, you're pretty and your uniform suits you very well."

"Say it like you mean it!"

"What does that even mean… But I guess she wants a stronger compliment or something…"

"…The uniform helps your natural beauty shine and elevate your elegance to a higher field of gorgeousness."

"Hehe~… I mean, if you say so!"

He sighed again. Quite the silly routine she had build. But if it kept her happy, nothing he minded all that much.

"You remember what we talked about?"

"Yes, we are childhood friends and lovers!"

"…We are childhood friends that come from a small country side country and came here solely for the magic schools education."

"Yes, just like I said!"

"It's important that we aren't lovers. It would only complicate our roles and relationships in the class."

"Fine… No lovers… Secret lovers~"

He sighed again. That was as close to it as he would get. It was important that their stories don't contradict. But maybe he was worrying to much. Either away, they should start their day now. After they eating breakfast provided by the school, noon was getting closer, so they deciding to go there early, since they didn't have anything else to do anyway.

Arriving at the place where the enrollment ceremony would be held, they noticed that many students already gathered and seemed to help with the preparations. Second years most likely.

"Hey, you two, can you help out here?"

A guy seemed to have noticed Yamato and Yuki watching and assumed they were here to help with the prepeations. Not exactly what they came here for, but there was also no reason not to now that they have been asked.

"Sure, what exactly should we do?"

Yamato agreed for the both of them, though Yuki would of course not protest that. So they got assigned to help some students carry materials into the classrooms on the other side of the school. Annoying physical labor but it couldn't be helped. Well, technically it could if he just told them he wasn't here to help. But that wouldn't exactly help his image, so he chose to just go with the flow.

He, Yuki and two other students carried the boxes to the classroom, so Yamato decided to make some small talk.

"What's in these boxes again?"

"Mostly documents and books but also some magic objects for studies."

And already, Yamato lost interest in small talk. So he didn't follow up with more questions. Quite an awkward situation, but whatever, he thought.

After this failed attempt to socialize, they went back and the preparations were already finished. The students that would become their classmates soon started to gather infront of a pedestal. On top was Professor Reed, the headmaster. Some other teachers stood behind him. He held a speech about how glad he was to teach yet another generation of students. Though Yamato didn't really listen. He was more interested in the board that had been placed next to the headmaster and the students around him. The board read which students would be in which classes. There where three in total, named Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. Very creative, Yamato thought. It seemed each class had 15 students, and from what Yamato had heard, the headmaster mentioned that the classes would compete against each other during their school time. An interesting concept. Competition often motivates people to perform better. After all, who doesn't want to win against others? But that aside, Yamato and Yuki were in the same class. That seemed to make her happy. One problem less. Who knows what she would have done if she was in a different class than him… But no need to go deeper into that since it didn't happen. The other students from the class seemed to be more interesting right now. After the speech ended, every student went to the teacher they were assigned to and went to their classroom.

After they arrived in the classroom everyone first took a seat. Yamato took a seat in the corner near a window, because he liked to see all the other students. Yuki of course claimed the seat next to him as fast as she could. After the rest of the class got seated, the teacher wanted everyone to introduce themselves to each other and started with himself. Professor Isaac Astraeus, or just professor Isaac. A girl in a front row volunteered to introduce herself next.

"My name is Arina Estrela Caída. I hope we all get along with each other and become friends for the future. I am really excited to have this opportunity to study with you all. Thank you!"

She seemed rather enthusiastic about the whole introduction. Should Yamato just copy that or try a more average version of that? He didn't decide that yet. Though, he noticed that she had been glancing at him since the ceremony earlier. She also gave Yuki the same glance. What could she want?

The next one to introduce was the person next to her.

"My name is Ohta Yuudai, I also look forward studying with you all and hope we can become friends."

He was less enthusiastic about his introduction. The way people introduce themselves reflects a lot about their personality. Yamato could tell by the enthusiasm and tone of Arina that she's a honest and kind person that works hard to strive for her goals. Of course there is a lot of speculation and assumptions at play and it works more like a general direction. It also doesn't work if the person just acts their introduction of course, but Yamato believed Arina was honest when she talked. Unlike Ohta, who just now tried to copy Arina's introduction but failed. He was troubled by some sort of mental burden that stopped him from being as enthusiastic as Arina.

While Yamato kept on analyzing the introduction of his classmates, Yuki seemed to be more interested in a girl sitting a row infront of her on the right. Yamato noticed that and inspected her closer as well. When it was her turn to introduce herself she had quite a different tone than the ones before her.

"Elara Luminara is my name, a pleasure to meet you. Some of you that is… You better behave around me or I will make your life miserable, that's all from me."

Arrogance, a lot of Jewelry, already made friends with the girls that look like they have a similar behavior. Yamato believed that she was some sort of aristocrat, or at least rather wealthy. His assumption was further supported by her clean skin and make up, which wasn't very common around the streets they previously visited. It's therefore safe to assume that in this world products such as skin care and make up are reserved for the rich or are just to expensive for the ordinary person.

Elera's friends had a similar tone in introduction. It was now Yuki's turn and although Yamato was slightly worried that she would mess it up, to his surprise…

"I'm Yuki Hikari. I'm so glad to be here and have the chance to meet new people and learn together with all of you!"

Similarly to Arina, she chose an optimistic introduction and welcomed all her classmates. But her inner thoughts were quite the opposite…

"Urgh… I hate this class already. What a bunch of losers. Classmates sounds so equal… as if I would ever be equal to average people like that, let alone Master… and that bitch in the row infront of me gets on my nerves already… 'You better behave around me', yeah, fuck you too, stupid. Just die already. Who does she even think she is? Master is in this room and she threatens everyone in here… so she threatens him… The nerve, the audacity! I wanna break every bone in her body, stomp on her head repeatedly. But Master wouldn't approve… safe for now, bitch… for now…"

It was finally Yamato's turn to introduce himself.

"Hello, my name is Yamato Tasumaki. I look forward to attend this school together with all of you and create memories and gain new knowledge."

"I'm hardly here for all of you… but maybe the decision to come to this school has already proven useful…"
