The Apocalyptic Command: A Military Isekai LitRPG

Chapter 14: Rewards

The stench of rotten flesh still lingers in the air, but this time, it is a bit more manageable than it was earlier. Fortunately, the cool morning breeze sweeps the remaining foul smell that assaults Quagmire's sense of smell. The gentle movements of the leaves make a pleasant sound of nature as if it is making a symphony of sounds.

The movements of the leaves, the chirping of birds, and the sound of local bugs of this world give off a pleasant vibe; behind it hides a terrifying truth. Just anywhere could ghouls be present, and if you were not alert nor focused, then expect to get pounced on by the ghouls.

Nevertheless, he moved, and when he found a place to sit down, he sat down and once again browsed the information he had received. As he was reading explanations of terminologies and their mechanics, his eyes darted to the side for a second. He was surprised to see an icon that looked like a mail, with a red dot on the top right corner.

Curious, he brought it up and looked over it; there, there seemed to be a few messages present.

[Rewards, Had Been Transferred To Spatial Inventory]

[Mail Has Been Received]

Staring at the window in front of him, his expression of a questioning gaze turned into that of a shock.

"I-I have an inventory? Not just any inventory, but a spatial one? Then that means I could insert things into the system and bring it out?" Quagmire, with a questioning gaze, muttered to himself.

Thus, glancing towards the tabs he had on the system window, he browsed through it, from shops to status and, finally, the spatial inventory. He found six items: three kinds of droids, six construction droids, six resource droids, and three logistics droids. Along with a manufacturing plant and a cloning facility, with a pathfinder.

"I see. I seem to be able to understand what I am supposed to do now, and with it, a path has opened up for me. Looks like I will never be able to leave the position of leadership. Not only did I become the emperor of my race, but I also had to part with my own genes so that I could clone myself. I see, I see, makes perfect sense." Quagmire said with delight.

"Not only could I immediately start my plans, but I would have the full support of a nation behind me as long as I carefully build it. I was a military commander in the past, but now it looks like I would really have to become a monarch or a president, the highest leader of any nation, as I, will not only have to manage military affairs, the industry, and logistics, but also diplomacy and international relations. That would mean there's a lower risk of unexpected outcomes, like a government going rogue or a military coup, as the military would be fully under my control, and the fact that they will be using my genes means I am their only parent. It might be a challenge, but I somehow feel extremely delighted." He said with eyes full of determination and ambition.

Anyway, before he let his ego get further up in the heavens, he brought it down. There are inherent risks, as the world as he knew it is no longer the same; it is possible that there are a number of myriad races in this world, and the fact he is the only human is problematic, so as soon as possible, he needs to get into cloning immediately. It might be unethical, but he no longer cares. He might as well be the alpha and omega, and he will have to reproduce, sexually or asexually, no matter what, and this cloning facility gives him hope.

There was also another thing that confused him, so he glanced once again into the window; there was something called a droid. Thus, he brought up the information panel on what droids are.

"I see droids are powered by an artificial intelligence, that is programmed or specially made to do its specialized use. Such as resource droids being used to harvest resources, particularly of that of nature and metals and ores. It is powered by energy and is charged by solar energy. Construction droids are the ones that construct buildings and are used in manufacturing plants, along with anything that needs to be built. Lastly, the logistics droid is the core of the industry, as it transports goods and materials from storage to the designated location where it is required, and so back and forth, too." Quagmire, with a gaze filled with curiosity and brimming with excitement, muttered through his thoughts. After all, these droids are the most perfect workers; they don't get tired, just need to be recharged, such as the wonders of technology.

There were still a few rewards, so he checked more on them.

"The manufacturing plant, huh, what I got is a small plant, but it does its job, considering the number of my droids… I see; depending on the blueprints or technological upgrades I have, I can order them anytime for production or change them… I see this is neat; I could order the droids, plants, and facilities through the system, as long as they are Artificial Intelligence." He could not believe what he was seeing; if the people from his world saw these, the capitalist would be drooling their mouths off at how convenient these things are.

Continuing on, the exploration of the rewards, the two final ones.

"Cloning facility. I have to use my blood so that my genes will be used. Apparently, I could edit it to some extent. Unfortunately, the curse of ineptitude on magic and spirit transfers to the entire race… This is why I need to quickly progress the technological advancements of my people. Lastly, the pathfinder… I see, so the pathfinder is the core of the base; once summoned or brought out, it would seek and identify the nearest best possible starting area for a base. After it finds it, it would transform into a power supply that wirelessly transfers energy to power construction buildings; it could be extended but expensive and resource intensive. Maybe receiving the small versions of the facilities is a blessing." Quagmire stared as he read through the window.

It only means that the starting time would be convenient, but it only serves to remind us how difficult the future would be if it is already this convenient to start out. This is precisely why he must not get too complacent, something he took to heart as he read through the information, realizing the coming predicament.
