Chapter 11: “World District”
"Well, we can't predict how strong the dungeon beasts inside a dungeon, especially a [Breeding Ground Dungeon] that we purposely keep for the sake of generating more raw materials."
Daniel nodded at Remy's words, but it was precisely because of this that he became more interested in the slimes here.
The slimes here were much bigger than an ordinary slime in other slime dungeons.
There was also that mutated golden slime...
Oh! It would be a dream come true if he could experiment on these slimes.
Unfortunately, the best researchers had all gone to World District 1, 2 or 3, bringing enough beast samples from F-rank dungeons.
Even if they wanted to conduct some research, there would still be a few F-rank slime dungeons at World District 1, 2 and 3.
With a shortage of researcher, Daniel simply didn't have the facility to dissect a certain little slime.
While Daniel was immersed in his dream of dissecting Neo for research, Lina suddenly came up with a bizarre opinion.
"Guys, could it be that the slimes here are much stronger because of the mutated slime?"
Lina rubbed her chin and inadvertently looked at the lazy mutated slime on John's palm.
Maybe this slime was not an aggressive type but it could promote the growth of other slimes?
When Neo heard Lina's casual remarks, he almost rolled his eyes.
If he was that awesome, he would have ruled the entire dungeon.
On the other hand, Neo felt that these slimes were much stronger than other slimes because the previous batch of hunters discarded their badly damaged weapons in this dungeon, and the slimes ate the weapons out of hunger.
These hunters shouldn't know that their weapons could make the slimes evolve.
If these hunters didn't clean up the dungeon and harvest the mature slimes so often, the slimes would have evolved to an E-rank already!
"Well, well, no matter how strong these slimes are, as long as we kill them, there won't be a problem." The simple-minded John waved his other hand and interrupted his teammates's conversation.
No matter what, he was confident that he could kill the most difficult slimes because he felt that he was about to level up to an E-rank!
Hearing John's words, Tom felt sour in his heart and couldn't help but comment, "Oh, John, are you leveling up soon?"
The man paused and then casually pointed his fingers at Lina, Remy and Daniel.
"If you become an E-rank hunter, it means you will leave the team and go to World District 8, right?"
Tom spoke in a strange tone, as if hinting something to the trio.
"After all, World District 9 only has a bunch of F-rank dungeon zones."
And there were too few types of F-rank dungeons in World District 9, only four;
Slime dungeons, abyss snail dungeons, mucus fungi dungeons and swamp leech dungeons.
Not to mention, the dungeon beasts inside were all the type of beasts with a lot of mucus, which was so disgusting for many people!
No wonder other World Districts said that the World District 9 was a "waste disposal site".
John fell silent at Tom's words full of jealousy and couldn't help but look at his teammates with complex emotion in his eyes.
If he could, he didn't want to leave his teammates behind, but the minimum requirement to enter World District 8 was to be an E-rank hunter.
If an F-rank hunter rashly entered District 8, with so many E-rank dungeons there, they would be useless and might even become a burden.
Neo pricked his "ears" as he "eavesdropped" on the hunters' conversation openly.
World Districts? Dungeon zones?
Are there no countries in this world? Why did they say World District with a certain number instead of the country's name?
If it's just districts without the label "world", maybe only this certain country divided their territory into several districts.
But the hunters said [World District].
Is this world divided into districts instead of countries?
That's so different from his original world!
Not to mention that hunters could also level up. He thought that a hunter's rank was determined from the moment they awakened, just like what was written in many novels and manhwas.
Apparently, this world still had some differences that he didn't know.
Neo was curious about the outside world, but he still had to pay attention to the hunters' weapons.
He wanted to pick the one that was the most severely damaged.
One by one, the hunters put their damaged weapons on the ground and discussed using ordinary knives to kill the rest of the slimes.
After a brief search, Neo found that to his surprise, John's weapon was the most severely damaged among other weapons!
That cool dagger showed signs of breaking apart, like a brittle biscuit.
There was no way it could be repaired.
Hum, since you are going to throw away the dagger anyway, how about feeding one to him?
Neo immediately slapped John's palm while "screaming" in a soft cub's voice.
"Chi! Chi! Chi!"
Put me down and bring me your dagger, hooman!
The "hooman" in question saw Neo's small movement that was like a tickle to him, but didn't understand what the slime wanted to express.
Even if the mutated slime was smarter than other slimes, John and the other hunters didn't think that it could communicate smoothly with human beings.
And so, John thought that the slime was just being naughty, hitting his palm here and there.
Seeing John's nonchalant look, Neo was so frustrated that he almost chomped the man's palm out of rage.
He cried a few times, even pacing back and forth on the man's palm, but the man just glanced at him as if he was making a fuss out of nothing.
Ah damn! This guy really didn't understand what he was trying to say!
Since it was like that...
Neo started to crawl out of John's palm, heading towards his arm.
This time, John finally noticed the slime's movement.
He saw the golden slime started to roll down from his palm, smoothly moving from the palm of his hand to the arm.
Then, it slowly crawled down the arm and jumped onto the ground.
Thud.
All the hunters instantly became alert.
Something is wrong with this slime!
