Chapter 9: Chapter9 Limitless
After I mastered the art of suppressing and radiating killing intent, everything became much easier for me. The monsters beyond the door of the Shadow Wolf's chamber were creatures without eyes, relying entirely on their exceptional sensory perception. With my newly acquired skills, I swiftly dispatched them. While some could still detect my presence, they posed no significant challenge.
I gradually became more adept at wielding my dual blades. My body felt lighter, and the aura and core I had fused together had grown exponentially. The more monsters I defeated, the stronger I became.
Creak!
I opened the door to the boss chamber and walked in without a trace of fear.
Whoosh! Roar!
"So, this time it's an Iron-scaled Serpent, huh?" I muttered as I gripped my dual blades and charged forward.
Clang! Clang! Crash!
The serpent's scales showed minor scratches, but I realized that fighting like this would drain my stamina before I could defeat it. So, I sheathed my blades and decided to rely on my fists.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Boom!
I ran along its massive body, dodging its attempts to strike me, until I reached its head. Without hesitation, I landed a powerful punch, causing it to collapse to the ground.
"How about that, you legless lizard?"
It seemed to be preparing some sort of magic circle, which I guessed was to summon reinforcements. As expected, it called forth about 1,000 minions to assist it.
I gripped my dual blades tightly and began slaying the horde. Though I sustained minor scratches from the battle, they were hardly an issue.
Slash! Slash! Slash! Slash!
Within a minute, I had reduced the number of minions to about 50. At that moment, I saw the legless lizard charging at me while I was preoccupied with its lackeys.
"Not bad. You're smarter than you look. But sorry, my experience is enough to predict your moves."
I quickly hurled my blades at the remaining minions and delivered a punch to the lizard.
Boom!
The force sent it crashing into the wall, leaving its scales cracked. I summoned my blades back into my hands and dashed toward its neck, relentlessly striking at the fractured area.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Crack!
Its scales shattered into pieces. Gathering all my strength, I slashed at its neck with one final blow.
Slash!
With the lizard defeated, its body and summoned minions disintegrated, leaving behind two blades and a book.
As always, I picked up the book and began reading. This time, it detailed techniques for dual-blade combat and methods to exponentially increase my aura and mana reserves. It also explained how to inflict paralysis upon enemies.
After finishing the book, I immediately began practicing. Starting with increasing my aura and mana, I entered my subconscious. In the depths of my mind, a shadowy version of myself appeared amidst the darkness. It readied itself and charged at me.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
I could barely keep up. Its techniques, movements, and power were almost identical to mine.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Thud!
I started to lose ground against this shadowy version of myself. Taking a deep breath, I regrouped.
"Fuu... So this is what monsters feel when they face me," I thought.
I adopted a new stance, focusing entirely on the shadow, before charging in again.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
As we clashed, my speed steadily increased. I learned new techniques and identified my own weaknesses through this intense battle. Time seemed to blur as the fight dragged on.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Slash!
"I've won," I declared, driving my blade into its chest.
The shadow disintegrated, and I instantly returned to reality. Emerging from my subconscious, I felt as though I had unlocked an endless potential for growth. My aura and mana reserves had grown so vast that it took me over a day to fully stabilize and control them.
I then practiced the dual-blade techniques I had learned. The techniques were flawless, capable of penetrating even the thickest armor. The blades dropped by the serpent appeared to be crafted from its fangs, incredibly sharp and durable.
"Alright, it's time," I said, stretching before slowly opening the door.
Creak!
"What a warm welcome you've prepared," I smirked.
In front of me was a massive horde of monsters, ready to charge. Without hesitation, I assumed a stance and dashed toward them.
This was the beginning of Ren limitless strength.
