Chapter Six Hundred Twenty-Eight: Causality
A quarter of an hour later, Nian Nian and Yan Rouwan entered the room at the same time.
By the bedside was a crowd of people, including Young Master Sang and Zhang Xiaoying. Most of the Sang family were gathered around the bed.
Little Ying You was lying on the bed, curled up on her side, her small face drenched in cold sweat as if she were in great pain.
“…How is it?” Young Master Sang asked, frowning at the two.
“First, we can rule out two possibilities.”
Nian Nian adjusted her glasses: “First, she’s not pretending to be sick. Her energy is like a candle flickering in the wind, weak enough to not be approached easily.”
“Second, it’s not the Primordial Deities from the Abyss Realm causing this trouble.” Yan Rouwan said, her beautiful eyes furrowing, “There’s no sign of rule power, and they seem completely unaware of this issue.”
After listening to the two, Young Master Sang fell silent.
…Ordinary illness had also been ruled out.
Not to mention that even the physicians couldn’t find anything wrong, Young Master Sang had already used Original Immortal to heal her several times, but there was no effect.
Little Ying You’s energy was still slowly fading, and her small face was becoming paler than paper.
“How could this happen…” Zhang Xiaoying’s face was equally pale. Everyone seemed to see her so flustered for the first time.
“What will happen if Little Ying You continues like this?”
Yan Rouwan and Nian Nian exchanged glances, seeming hesitant to voice the answer.
Zhang Xiaoying swayed slightly.
Seeing her about to collapse, Young Master Sang hurriedly held her, but even in his arms, Xiaoying’s beautiful eyes were brimming with tears as she murmured:
“Why… She was fine in the morning, how could it suddenly…”
“Don’t worry.” Young Master Sang tried to comfort her, “Little Ying You will be okay.”
“Nian Nian, is there a way to find the root of the problem?”
“For now, we can at least confirm that the culprit behind Little Ying You’s condition is definitely not within the omniscient rules.” Nian Nian began to think seriously, “So now, there’s only one other way.”
“…Causal Lotus.”
Young Master Sang was taken aback.
“Little Ying You couldn’t have suddenly fallen ill for no reason. There must be some kind of trigger.”
Yan Rouwan added quietly, “Causal Lotus can reveal all the causality related to Little Ying You. If we can rule out the causality related to us, we might find a clue.”
Upon hearing this, Zhang Xiaoying’s beautiful eyes finally regained some spirit. She quickly grasped Young Master Sang’s hand: “In that case, husband, hurry—husband?”
“Ah, it’s nothing.”
Young Master Sang seemed to snap back to reality and quickly took out the Causal Lotus: “Let me give it a try.”
The Causal Lotus emitted a pure glow in his palm, and immediately, countless threads appeared around Little Ying You, intertwined and chaotic.
“…Such astonishing causality,” Yan Rouwan exclaimed, slightly surprised, “I guess it’s true what they say about your daughter?”
“Beyond the major causality closely related to us, her subtle causality seems to connect with all the beings in the Abyss Realm.”
“Thanks to her being the daughter of the leader of the Void Alliance,” Nian Nian couldn’t help but tease.
“Now’s not the time for jokes.” Young Master Sang forced a smile, “Can we find the causality that’s causing the problem?”
“It’ll take some time.” Nian Nian said with a bit of a headache, “There are just too many causality links on her; it won’t be done quickly.”
“Join me; don’t just stand there watching.”
Hearing this, Young Master Sang joined the two and began combing through Little Ying You’s causality with the Causal Lotus.

—
As Nian Nian said, this method had a flaw—it was slow.
As Little Ying You’s father, the first child of the Sang family, the child of the Abyss Realm’s ruler, she had been the focus of all beings in the Abyss Realm since birth.
Her causality practically covered the entire Abyss Realm.
No one knew which thread might be the culprit for Little Ying You’s condition, so they could only look for it thread by thread in the most tedious way.
Soon, half an hour passed, and even though the three did not take a break, they had only managed to examine one-fifth of the causality.
“At this rate, will we make it in time?” Nian Nian glanced at Little Ying You, who was groaning in increasing pain, her anxiety mounting, “Is there any way to narrow down our search?”
That sounds simple.
But it’s like trying to find a book in a library without keywords—pure luck.
Yet, no one had any clues to find that keyword.
Young Master Sang remained focused, intent on sifting through the causality.
Beside him, Zhang Xiaoying’s expression was already pale and frail, yet she stubbornly remained silent, not disturbing Young Master Sang even a bit.
Only their hands remained tightly clasped together.
…This isn’t working.
Nian Nian was right.
Without keywords, searching aimlessly like this might truly be too late.
Little Ying You’s energy was weakening, like floating duckweed, ready to be swallowed by the waves at any moment.
Calm down. Young Master Sang took a deep breath.
In times like this, he had to force himself to stay calm and clear-headed.
Thinking carefully. Everything has causality.
For Little Ying You to end up like this, there must be a reason. He needed to find the most likely cause.
Suddenly, Young Master Sang’s eyes dimmed slightly.
…In fact, he had a vague suspicion.
Because what was unfolding before him felt all too familiar.
The most important child suddenly in life-threatening danger for unknown reasons, and the only way to save her was to use the Causal Lotus to examine causality.
Everything resembled what he had done to Xu Hongyi back in the Fallen Red Domain.
Even Zhang Xiaoying’s heartbroken, desperate gaze towards Little Ying You mirrored how Xu Hongyi had looked at Yi Yi back then.
…Could it really be that?
Could it be Xu Hongyi’s doing?
Speaking of which, ever since he returned from the Fallen Red Domain, he hadn’t heard anything about Xu Hongyi again.
It was as if she had genuinely let go, vanishing without a trace from his world.
But the more like this, the more uneasy Young Master Sang felt.
With the mindset of trying anything, he began to search for causality linked to Xu Hongyi on Little Ying You.
Sure enough, amidst the tangled threads, he found a barely perceptible strand.
This causality was extremely faint, almost on the level of being insignificant.
Yet, Young Master Sang cautiously traced the causality back to a distant realm.
Finally, while still immersed in tracing back the causality, a familiar yet strange voice rang in his ears:
“…Brother.”
“Have you finally come to find me?”
It was Xu Hongyi’s voice.
Just like when he first met her.
Filled with suppressed excitement and joy, as if the shadow of the Fallen Red Domain had completely faded away.
