The Butcher of Sargon (LoL x Arknight Fanfiction)

Chapter 60: Volume 1 Chapter 60: The Nightzmora's Tent

"Hmm, someone actually disturbed that consciousness space?"

In a grand and majestic library with an ancient atmosphere far from the Hotlands and thousands of miles away from Sargon, in Columbia, a mature woman lifted her head as Garde destroyed a Nightzmora Knight's remains. "How interesting."

The woman, with a snake's feathered crest, showed a charming smile.

Her white office dress and black stockings wrapped around her legs, which crossed in an alluring way.

The way she sat on the chair, her full hips pressed against the seat, creating a perfect curve.

She was reading a book about a Khagan from the wilds, who, after a lifetime of war, set his sights on the untouchable hot lands and never returned.

Some decried the Khagan's invasion, while fervent supporters claimed his arrival marked a new era for Terra.

Historians debated the Khagan's legacy, but the Nightzmoras' remains lay forgotten in the endless hot lands, untouched by anyone.

The Nightzmoras' horror still lingered in Sargon, and after the last Nightzmora Pasha perished in the yellow sands, few could reach the truth of the Empire of Consciousness.

But now, the lost chapters were being reopened.

"Let me see who is so reckless to face the Nightzmora's Tent."

The woman stood up, and as she did, a peach-like outline was left on the chair, slowly fading.

Walking deeper into the library, she passed an exhibit resembling a historical museum, with various biological specimens preserved as specimens.

She touched a small glass box containing a bone—a Nightzmora Knight's finger bone.

...

Zzz!

On the desert sands, the Crocodile Man's figure charged into the robotic army like a wild beast.

The robots attacking Garde varied in size, but they are mostly mining robots.

These robots weren't particularly powerful, but their mining lasers could focus together to cut through Garde's scales.

However, the Crocodile Man charged forward faster than usual, undeterred by the lasers.

Bang!

The beast clad in scales clashed with the metallic mechanical beings.

Garde's sharp claws effortlessly tore through the mining robots' exteriors, exposing the complex circuitry within.

Reaching inside, he yanked out the wires, revealing the energy core—a piece of Nightzmora bone.

Had Garde been conscious, he would have realized why these mining robots were collecting the bones of Nightzmora Knights—they were using the bones as their energy source.

If Garde later attended a university specializing in Originium energy studies, he would understand that the Nightzmora Knight's bone he crushed had essentially become a special crystalline material similar to synthetic Originium.

This bio-synthetic crystal could not only power various mobile devices but also serve as an emitter for Originium staffs, enhancing specific types of Originium arts.

There was no Originium in the Foehn Hotlands, and these ancient civilizations in the desert shouldn't have known how to use Originium.

But perhaps due to some accident or energy shortage, they learned to utilize this new energy source.

The remains of the Nightzmoras had become a substitute energy source for an ancient civilization, and the Nightzmoras' horrors could not affect a group of thoughtless robots.

"Warning, Experiment No. 3, species Adakrys, threat level rising, currently at medium. Recommended capture. Recommended activation of captured modified units: Subspecies Dragon Beta, Dire Wolf Alpha, Corrupted Lizard Delta..."

The mechanical voice echoed in the desert.

The mining robots alone were clearly unable to stop Garde.

The cutting beams of the mining robots left only shallow wounds on Garde, which quickly healed due to his rapid cellular metabolism.

The number of mining robots blocking Garde was too few.

Even with just his instincts, Garde was able to crush all the robots in his path.

But then, a piercing roar echoed across the desert.

A dragon, originally resting in the Nightzmoras' graveyard, suddenly opened its eyes.

One of its amber eyes had been replaced with a mechanical one, flashing a series of red codes.

The dragon's fierce face became even more menacing as it used its wings to turn and face the distant Crocodile Man.

"Gaaaaaaaaa——!!!"

The dragon took flight, its over twenty-meter-long body riding the hot winds, diving towards Garde, who was surrounded by mining robots.

Boom!

Without any pause, the dragon opened its mouth and bit down on Garde, its sharp teeth sparking against Garde's scales.

Garde, with his blood-red eyes wide open, continued to swing his axe at the surrounding robots, completely ignoring the dragon's attack from above.

However, once the dragon bit him, the instinct-driven Garde focused his attention on the dragon.

With half his body in the dragon's mouth, Garde retaliated by biting down on the dragon's lip, tearing off a large piece of flesh.

The dragon screeched in pain and threw Garde back to the ground.

At that moment, three giant black wolves leapt towards the falling Garde.

The unconscious butcher was in a perilous situation.

Meanwhile, Garde, who had shattered the Nightzmora's remains, opened his eyes again to the familiar desert.

The landscape of the Hotlands seemed unchanged over millennia, except for one thing: the continuous graves were gone.

The sound of iron hooves trampling the sand came from behind.

Garde turned to see a black and red army.

A figure rode forward, mounted on a creature that could be described as a horse if a flame-footed, fire-breathing beast could be called a horse.

Garde wondered, 'Does Terra have horses?'

As he pondered, the figure approached and looked down at him, asking:

"Adakrys, why are you here?"
