Chapter 17: A Weekend in Hell
"Run! Flee! For hell is empty and the devils are here!"
"What are you, William Shakespeare?"
Alice groaned and rubbed her forehead. It wasn't even up to an hour and she was already having an headache.
"Alice, have you visited wonderland?"
Alice, rolled her eyes at the pathetic joke her cousin was making. "Haha, very funny." She turned to Alex who was seated beside her. "Please, tell me our parents are done with their meeting. If I'm stuck here any more second, I fear my brain cells will reduce."
Alex, covered his mouth and gasped in horror. "No! Not your brain cells, you barely have any to begin with."
"I agree."
"Shut up Coleman, I'm the only one allowed to insult her." Alex snapped at their cousin.
"You guys are boring." He whined. When he realized that they were adamant on ignoring him, he sucked in air and Alice, knew what was going to come next. "Dora!!!" He screamed, his voice echoing across the room.
"Yes, yell. Like the little banshee you are." Alex said, seriously vexed at everything.
An older looking girl, came out of a door and she headed towards them. She swayed her hips while walking, causing her already short skirt to ride up. The front of her top, had a deep cut, revealing an almost too big bosom.
"Cole, why are you tormenting our poor cousins." She said sweetly.
Cole, pointed at Alex. "He said a mean word to me!"
"Really?"
Alice, rolled her eyes at the feigned innocence. Dora, was the reincarnation of Lucifer himself. In fact, she made Lucifer look like a joke!
"Alex! I missed you." She beamed as she stood in front of him. "Did you miss me too? "
Alex, grunted. Not fooled by the act. "Hardly. I completely forgot about your existence."
"That hurts Alex, you know I'm delicate."
Delicate? Delicate was an overstatement, she was in fact a ferocious animal.
Dora, glanced at Alice, as though she were surprised to see her. "Alice? I didn't know you were here."
Of course she knew.
"What can I say, I was brought here against my will." Alice replied.
"Did you lose weight? I could have sworn you looked bigger than that."
Alice shrugged her shoulders. "What can I say, I'm an aspiring model." That was a blatant lie. The fact that she wanted to be a model and, also her losing weight.
The only thing Alice was losing, was her sanity.
The last time she had checked, he had in fact added 5 extra pounds but the weight she added, always went to her hips and glutes. She was in fact grateful since one could say she had the perfect— slim thick body but the only problem was that it never went to her chest. Unlike Dora who constantly went up to a new size, every other day.
"Dora, whether my weight changes, I don't see how that's any of your concern, genuinely speaking."
"I apologize Alice, I guess I stepped out of line." Dora said in the most unapologetic way. "But I'm confused Alice, you swore you'd never come back here." She continued.
Alice groaned as she remembered her last visit and how she had frantically promised to not come there again. "Like I said, I'm here against my will."
"You act like anyone wants you here to begin with." Dora's words were filled with spite as she stared down at Alice.
"Then why don't you do me the favor and, tell that to my parents so they'll stop making us come here?"
"Alice —"
"Just be quiet." Alex said, annoyed at their banter.
"Alex, I'm just speaking nicely with your sister, it's her that's filled with so much jealousy."
"Jealous of you?"
"Yes, you're full of so much spite towards me."
"And why exactly would I be? You're the one that has had so much distrust for me since we were little." Alice defended, offended at the accusation.
"Typical of you Alice, playing the victim card."
"That's funny, coming from the victim herself. You keep claiming I did something to you but, if you can't tell me exactly what I did, then suck it up. I already have a lot on my plate to add you."
"You little—"
"Can you two just stop?!" Alex yelled, Interrupting the argument. He had totally lost his shit.
Alice, stood up from where she sat and grabbed her purse.
"Where are you headed?" Dora asked, slightly shocked at her unexpected behavior.
"Somewhere you're not." Alice answered automatically.
"Come back, you didn't ask Mom and dad for permission." Alice said, trying to be levelheaded.
"Not like they asked me about my opinion before we came here? I'm merely repaying the attitude." She glanced at Dora who stood adjacent to her. "I'm finally getting out of your hair, shouldn't you be happy?"
"Alice—"
"Dora, don't. I go through enough banters and verbal abuse in school to last me a lifetime. I sincerely apologize but I'm the wrong person to indulge." She walked out of the door and waved to them. "Have fun without me."
"Don't get lost Ali." Alex called out to her.
"Don't be ridiculous, if I don't, it won't be part of my personality."
"And where do you know you're going to?" Dora asked.
Alice smiled slightly at the question. "What an obvious question. To wonderland of course."
***
Alice strolled down the street as, various thoughts went through her mind.
Her parents obviously had no clue that she had gone out without an "entourage" to keep the enemies away, and by enemies, she meant cute boys. They'd probably throw a fit when she got back or send a search party to look for her.
Most teenagers saw being grounded as a punishment but that wasn't a punishment in her house because, she wasn't really allowed to even go anywhere without an advance notification.
By that she meant 2 days before any event. She had to sneak to most places she wanted to go to.
This moment of peace would definitely be worth any form of punishment.
Alice looked down the street and saw a big tree with a swing attached to it. She quickened her pace, stopping when she reached the tree.
Alice surveyed the area and was satisfied when she saw no one nearby, she then sat on the swing.
Alice, moved her leg back and forth and, began thinking of Dora. She wished that, she had not snapped at her. The girl wasn't all bad, when she wasn't actively trying to make her life miserable.
But that was nearly impossible, Alex was already doing a fine job.
Alice, was too deep in her thoughts that she failed to see the shadow of a person sneaking up on her.
As she was about to lift her legs above the ground, she felt hot air tickle the skin of her exposed neck. She turned sharply to the right and was met with a set of baby blue eyes.
Her eyes widened in horror and, she tried to jump off of the swing while airborne, but she miscalculated.
One of the ropes of the swing got hooked to a branch. The swing moved back with force because of her weight and she, crashed into a tree. Alice fell–not so gracefully, on the floor.
Tarzan made it look so easy.
Alice moaned in pain and attempted to stand up but she was tangled up, with the rope of the swing. The blue eyed stranger, hurried towards her and and looked down at her.
"Now, that was was a nasty fall." The blue eyed stranger commented, as he clicked his tongue with slight amusement, watching her attempt to stand up.
Alice sneered at him and had the urge to yell, but she concluded that he, wasn't worthy of her anger.
"Didn't they teach you manners?" Alice said with annoyance.
"Manners?" The blue eyed stranger tapped his chin and pretended to think. "I have absolutely no idea what that word means. Perhaps, you'd like to enlighten me? "
Alice smiled menacingly at the thought. Once she got up from the awkward position, she'd be sure to teach him some manners.
Alice manged to stand up after struggling, ignoring the amused look of the blue eyed monster. She balanced her weight on the tree and dusted her jeans, wondering what kind of guy he was.
He didn't seem to be a pervert, but looks could be deciveing.
After ridding her clothe of as much dirt that could come out, she turned back and groaned at the state of the swing. It couldn't even be called a swing anymore for it was in a million pieces.
"Are you done?" He said while tapping his foot impatiently on the floor.
Gosh, why was he still here?
"As a matter of fact, I am"
"Good, now—"
"With this conversation." She added, interuping him.
"What?"
"I said, I'm done with the conversation so, shoo" Waving her hands at him, as though he were a pesky fly.
"The conversation hasn't even started."
"That's the point, I'm ending it before it does. You annoy me" Alice said with a blank expression.
"I annoy you? I haven't even done anything to you"
"Well, it's your fault I fell from the swing to begin with."
"You were the one that was clearly distracted"
"No one that is sane sneaks up on a stranger and breaths on their neck when they're on a swing so, just get lost!" Her voice increasing at each word.
Alice, tapped her chin during the moment of silence. She needed to see the owner of the swing to apologize to them and, probably pay for the damage.
There goes her school savings
"Squirrel, little squirrel"
Alice's thoughts were once again interrupted. She looked around to see the squirrel he was calling but, she didn't see anything.
"There's no squirrel." She placed her hands on her hips.
"I'm talking about you."
Her mouth opened in disbelief. "Did you just call me a squirrel?"
"Yes I did." He said while smirking at his words. "You haven't said anything about the swing you broke."
"Firstly, I'm not an animal so don't call me one and secondly, I was planning on asking you who owned the swing but it seems you're mentally deranged. "
"Well you looked like an animal to begin with, how was I supposed to know. With that bushy black hair of yours that has leaves stuck on it, just dye it brown and it's a sealed deal." He chuckled at the shock on her face.
"With the cuts on your body, your torn dirty clothes, your unlaced shoes and with your puny arms. You look like the sick version of a squirrel " His grin increased as he continued what he was saying.
"Plus, that swing belongs to me. That's what I've been trying to tell you since."
Alice saw red. No one dared to insult her and expect to get away with it.
"The swing is yours, right? "
"Yes."
"Then it seems I'll have to pay you back."
She smiled sweetly towards him and leaned closer to his ears.
"Just not how you expect it." With that last statement, Alice Gwen Anderson kicked him where the sun didn't shine.
He fell on the ground, crying in pain and Alice, turned around flipping her hair fi
lled with leaves.
She might be a mess, but at least, she was still a classy mess.
She waved at the boy who was on the floor. "Toodles." She said cheerfully as she gracefully limped from the crime scene.
