The Domineering Female CEO

Chapter 46: chapter 46

Eliana's POV

The next day, Xavier and I went out to meet my godfather, Mr. Josh. As we arrived at his office, I could sense Xavier's nervousness. But as soon as Mr. Josh greeted us with a warm smile, Xavier's tension eased.

Mr. Josh looked at Xavier with an approving gaze. "So, you're the one who's stolen Elly's heart," he said, his voice filled with warmth.

We chatted for a while, discussing everything from our relationship to our future plans. Mr. Josh listened intently, nodding his head and asking thoughtful questions.

As we prepared to leave, Mr. Josh picked up his phone and dialed a number. "I'll notify the board of directors about the upcoming engagement party," he said, his eyes twinkling with excitement.

With Mr. Josh's help, we quickly settled on a venue and a date for the party. We also notified the paparazzi, knowing that Xavier's public status would make our engagement party a highly anticipated event.

As expected, the news of our engagement party went viral. I was bombarded with congratulatory messages and requests for interviews.

Despite my reservations, I decided to invite my stepmom and uncle to the party. I didn't particularly want to see them, but I knew it was the right thing to do.

Finally, the day of our engagement party arrived. I woke up feeling like a nervous wreck, but Xavier's calm and reassuring presence helped to soothe my frazzled nerves.

As we prepared to leave for the party, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. This was it – our engagement party, and the official start of our journey together.

At the party

As we danced and mingled with the guests, my stepmom and stepsister, Lisa and Layla, approached us. I felt a knot in my stomach, anticipating their usual drama and negativity.

Lisa, my stepmom, sneered at me. "So, you finally got someone to stand as a fake husband, right? A famous one, at that. Tell me, how much did she pay you?"

Xavier, who had no idea who they were, since I hadn't mentioned them to him, interrupted them. "And you are?" he asked, his tone firm but polite.

Lisa's expression faltered for a moment before she recovered. "I'm her stepmom, and this is Layla, her stepsister."

Layla, who had been quietly observing the exchange, suddenly smiled seductively at Xavier, earning a scowl from me.

"Since this is all fake," Layla said, her voice dripping with flirtation, "you can come to me after your fake publicity stunt."

Xavier's expression turned disapproving. "Please, you both should respect yourselves and respect my fiancée as well. If you want to stay here in peace, I suggest you behave. Otherwise, I'll have to ask security to escort you out."

Lisa and Layla, taken aback by Xavier's firm response, frowned with embarrassment. Xavier then turned to me and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me close.

"Let's get out of here," he whispered, leading me away from my toxic relatives.

After the engagement party, Xavier and I returned home, basking in the joy and excitement of our special day. The next morning, I woke up to find my phone flooded with notifications. Our engagement party had gone viral, with pictures and videos of us trending on social media.

Xavier and I exchanged a look, both of us grinning from ear to ear. We had expected some attention, but this was on a whole different level.

As we sipped our coffee and scrolled through our phones, we started making plans for our wedding. We had decided against a grand, elaborate ceremony, opting instead for a simple, intimate affair at the marriage registry.

A week after our engagement party, we found ourselves standing in front of the marriage registrar, surrounded by our closest friends and family. Elvis and Royalty beamed with happiness, while Jason looked on with a proud smile.

As we exchanged our vows and signed the registry, I felt a sense of joy and completion wash over me. We were officially married!

The news of our marriage spread like wildfire, reaching even the farthest corners of Jai City. The rumors about Alexander and me were finally laid to rest, and I couldn't be happier.

Xavier took my hand, his eyes shining with love and adoration. "We did it," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.

I smiled, feeling my heart overflow with love for this man. "We sure did," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

As we walked out of the registry office, hand in hand, I knew that our future together was bright, and that nothing could ever come between us again.

Xavier's point of view:

As I looked at Elly, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the day we met. She had brought so much joy and light into my life, and I knew that I would do anything to make her happy.

After our engagement party, we had decided to keep things simple and just register our marriage. It was a decision that we had made together, and I was glad that we had chosen to do things our own way.

As we walked out of the registry office, hand in hand, I felt a sense of pride and happiness. We were finally married, and I knew that our love would last a lifetime.

The news of our marriage had spread quickly, and I knew that it would be a shock to some people. But I didn't care. All that mattered was that Elly was happy, and that we were together.

As we settled into our new routine, I couldn't help but notice the way Elly smiled at me. It was a smile that lit up her whole face, and it made my heart skip a beat.

One day, as we were cuddled up on the couch, I turned to Elly and said, "I'm so glad we got married. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Elly smiled, and I could see the love shining in her eyes. "I'm glad too," she replied. "I love you, Xavier."

"I love you too, Elly," I said, pulling her into a tight hug.

As we hugged, I knew that our love would last a lifetime. We had found each other, and nothing could ever come between us again.

Here's a revised version with a smoother flow:

Although our marriage was initially intended to be a one-year contract, I knew deep down that it would be more than that. I couldn't imagine being Elly's husband for just a year. The thought of letting her go was unbearable.

As I looked at Elly, I felt a surge of determination. I would do everything in my power to make our marriage real, to make her fall in love with me, and to keep her by my side forever.

I knew it wouldn't be easy. I had to win her heart, to gain her trust, and to prove to her that our marriage was worth fighting for. But I was willing to do whatever it took.

Elly was worth it. She was kind, smart, and beautiful, with a heart of gold. And I was determined to make her mine, not just for a year, but for a lifetime.

I noticed Elly kept her stepfamily at arm's length, rarely mentioning them or involving them in our life together. At first, I didn't pry, assuming it was a sensitive topic for her.

However, the reason became clear at our engagement party. Her stepmom, Lisa, and stepsister, Layla, had shown their true colors, being disrespectful and flirtatious towards me. My firm intervention had put them in their place, but I could see the emotional toll it took on Elly.

Now, I understood why she kept them at bay. Their behavior was unacceptable, and I admired her strength in setting boundaries. I vowed to support her in protecting herself from their negativity. Our love and future together were worth shielding.

As the day drew to a close, Elvis and I reluctantly bid our farewells to Eliana, Royalty, and Jason. We were due back at our filming location, and duty called.

Eliana seemed hesitant to let me go, her eyes sparkling with a mix of sadness and longing. We shared a tender kiss, and I whispered a promise to return soon.

As I turned to leave, I ruffled Jason's hair, saying, "Take care of your big sister, okay?" He grinned, and I could see the adoration in his eyes for Eliana.

Elvis and Royalty, on the other hand, were struggling to part ways. They stood locked in a loving gaze, the air thick with their chemistry. Finally, Royalty gently pushed Elvis toward the car, her eyes never leaving his. Elvis stared back at her, his love for her evident in every line of his face.

With a final wave, we left Eliana's mansion behind, carrying the memories of our special day with us.

Eliana's POV

As I watched Xavier drive away, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. I hated saying goodbye to him, even if it was just for a little while.

I turned to Jason, who was watching me with concern in his eyes. "Hey, kiddo, I'm fine," I reassured him, forcing a smile onto my face.

Royalty, who had been quietly observing the scene, spoke up. "Eliana, why don't you go inside and rest? You've had a big day."

I nodded, grateful for her suggestion. As I walked back into the mansion, I couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness that had settled in my chest.

I missed Xavier already, and I knew it would be a long few days until he returned. But I was determined to stay strong, for myself and for our future together.

With the marriage finally complete, I had fulfilled my promise to the board of directors. Now, it was time to seize full control of Damien Group's operations.

Quickly settling into my new role, I assessed the company's landscape. Strategic decisions awaited, and I was eager to drive growth.

My vision for Damien Group's future crystallized: innovation, expansion and sustainability. I would lead with integrity, empowering teams and fostering partnerships.

The future looked bright. I was ready to leave my mark and cement Damien Group's legacy.

The next day

As Royalty and I arrived at the Damien Group headquarters in Sky City, I was greeted by two unwelcome faces: my stepmother, Lisa, and my uncle. My expression immediately turned cold.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded, my voice firm and authoritative.

Lisa's eyes flashed with hatred. "You think you've won," she spat.

My uncle, attempting to intervene, said, "Don't look at me like that, Eliana. I'm still your uncle. Can't I check up on my niece anymore?"

I cut him off, my tone stern. "Don't give me that. You're both not allowed here. This is my last warning."

With that, I turned and walked away, leaving them standing there. Royalty followed closely behind me, her presence a reassuring reminder that I had loyal allies by my side.

As we entered the elevator, Royalty turned to me and asked, "Are you okay?"

I nodded, taking a deep breath. "I'm fine. Just dealing with the usual drama."

Royalty's expression turned sympathetic. "You don't have to deal with them, Eliana. You're the CEO now. You have the power."

I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude toward my friend. "Thanks, Royalty. That means a lot coming from you."

As the elevator doors opened, I stepped out into the bustling office floor. My second assistant, Rachel, who has been the one handling things in sky city while I was in Jai city greeted me with a warm smile and a stack of files.

"Good morning, Eliana. Congratulations again on your marriage. I have the meeting schedules and reports ready for you to review."

I nodded, taking the files from her. "Thanks, Rachel. I'll get right on it."

As I made my way to my office, I could feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. Being the CEO of Damien Group was a challenging job, but I was determined to prove myself.

I spent the next few hours reviewing reports and attending meetings. Royalty sat in on some of the meetings, offering her valuable insights and expertise.

At lunchtime, I took a break and stepped out onto the balcony. The view of the city skyline was breathtaking, and for a moment, I forgot about the stress and pressure of my job.

But as I turned to go back inside, I saw Lisa and my uncle standing in the lobby, talking to one of our employees. My instincts told me that they were up to no good.

I frowned, feeling a surge of anger and protectiveness. Who did they think they were, trying to undermine my authority and sabotage my company?

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the confrontation that was to come. It was time to put my foot down and show Lisa and my uncle that I wouldn't be intimidated or manipulated.

With a determined glint in my eye, I strode back into the office, ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.

I swiftly called a meeting with the HR department and security team. With a stern expression, I addressed the room.

"I've just witnessed a serious breach of company protocol. The employee who was seen conversing with Lisa and my uncle is hereby terminated, effective immediately."

The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on me.

"Furthermore, I'm issuing a strict directive: Lisa, my uncle, and my step-sister, Layla, are barred from entering Damien Group premises. They are not to be granted access under any circumstances."

I paused, surveying the room to ensure my instructions were clear.

"I expect all security personnel to be vigilant and enforce this directive. Any employee found to be in violation of this policy will face disciplinary action."

With my instructions issued, I dismissed the meeting, my mind already focused on the next steps to protect my company.
