Chapter 13: Is This a Date?
We were walking on a crowded street, so not many people noticed us "So whats your favorite thing" Lyssia asked in response I shrugged "You wouldn't like my answer" she sighed.
"Let me guess... hmmm. i don't know Training or reading" I laughed "Nope" she side-eyed me suspiciously "We sure you arent lying" I nodded "Im sure... keep guessing" she nodded "well I guess I honestly don't know you that well" she shrugged in defeat, I smiled since she just looked goofy when she did it "Well to give you an answer, its just sitting in the forest" she raised an eyebrow "Ezra a Pacafist"
i lightly punched her in the arm "No, but compared to everything else its just a calm place to be, it gives me time to think" and plan.
she sighed "well what should we do in the city" we were standing at a center square like area, i shrugged "i dunno" she smiled "i got an idea" she grabbed my hand and led me through the crowd towards a random shop, that i didn't get to read the sign for since she pulled me into it.
"Let's go clothes shopping," I frowned. What is up with girls and clothes shopping? "OK," I said. I didn't have anything else to do today beyond get the books I needed.
She was getting a lot of clothes, and I was a shopping cart for her clothes. Apparently, she had a surprise for me.
when we finally got out of the store i was holding like 20 bags "So where did we need to go for your books" i sighed and looked up at the sky "It shouldn't be far" i quickly found the store since its name was in big letters.
I entered and it seemed like people hadn't been in the store for like 20 years, i ringed a bell and a short man with a beard walked up to the desk, he was barely able to reach past the desk "How can i help you young man" i nodded "can i get a copy of the Intermediate books for fire element, air element and earth element" he nodded and left going into the back area where they kept the books.
"Your already intermediate!" i nodded "Im guessing you just awakened" she sheepishly nodded "Nothing wrong with that, I'm just a prodigy with mana, i had awakened my core at around 4" her head moved back involuntarily "I don't even remember what i was doing at 4" i shrugged.
Bam
the 3 massive books were set down on the front counter "How much will that be" the man shook his head "Youre already payed for" i shrugged and didn't question it "Thank you sir, have a good day" we left the shop "Well now what" she shrugged.
Her stomach growled "I have an idea why don't we go get something to eat" i thought about it, and Ithers mansion was quite a far way "Sure why not" Lyssia asked around and found out that there was a pretty good place nearby.
so we started heading that way when we entered the receptionist said "So are you two a couple or are you two separate table groups?" i nodded "yes we are in a group" it took a few minutes to get us seated.
Lyssia hadn't said anything for a couple of minutes and her face was red "What up with you?" she stood up "I need to use the bathroom" made sense to me.
she left in a hurry and so i just sat there reading my books, when a young white-haired elf came up to me "Your Lord Ithers Student right" he said it smugly, this kid definitely wanted a fight.
"What if i am" he closed my book "Whats your problem with me huh" i stood up "If you want to fight me challenge me right here" i looked at the title to the books "And your a fraud, no Human could be at intermediate at our age" i shrugged "Well I'm not Normal" he laughed "So what, lets fight" i was waiting for him to say the words of Duel and challenge "I challenge you to a duel" i smiled.
we stepped outside since this kid at least respected others, not me, "So tell me when your ready, fraud" the kid was cocky, he had likely just awakened same as Lyssia.
he smirked "Im ready" i smiled "Then I'm ready" once i said that i felt a slight movement of mana come from the kid, i dashed forward getting a dull earth spike ready in my hands, since i didn't want to kill him.
he didn't react as i smacked the Earth spike across his head, now that i think about it, it would be smarter to call it and Earth Bat.
Lyssia was standing the crowd "WE should go Ezra" i shrugged "No lets eat" i walked back into the restaurant and sat down again, the people who had window seats were looking at me in shock.
"No Ezra we should go" i sighed and stood up grabbing my books "If you say so" we left and went back to Ithers Mansion.
When i entered the Mansion a wooden bat came at my head with a light force, i dodged it "What were you thinking Ezra!!" Ither was yelling at me "What?" i was confused "You Hit a Wealthy Kid across the head with a earth spike" i shrugged "It was a duel" he smirked at that "So i guess its on me then, since i didn't explain elven duels to you"
i blinked rapidly "YOu mean to tell me its not a fight to whoever yields first or gets knocked out" he nodded "Well umm, that would have been nice to know" he nodded again "Well your magic certainly has developed quite a bit, what level are you at right now?" i scratched the back of my head "Im currently a green core, at intermediate level for my 3 elements"
I was pretty sure his Jaw would fall off, Lyssia had already left to put up her new clothes "Jesus you truly are a monster in Tallent" i shrugged "still i need to learn more" Ither set his hand on my shoulder "You really don't kid, your at the point where most platinum level adventures sit" i shrugged.
"Maybe" he gave me an idea, i could learn a lot more if i had combat training "Ill need to talk to you about something in a few days, i need to come through the details." he shrugged "ok" i left to put my books up.
My door was open, and i know i closed it when i left.
