The Dungeon Conquerors: Journey to the Peak

Chapter 331: Ch 334: Fallen Noble Family

After being done with the troubles regarding the city of Swevna, Rein and his girls left for their next destination. A new governor had not been decided for the city yet but the stuff working in the government were quite good at their job so they would be able to take care of the city even in the absence of a governor.

Rein also had a meeting with the leader of the magic association who was a very competent rank four mage. After exchanging some ideas about magic with Rein, she happily agreed to Rein's request of helping the city out in this situation where it was without a proper leader.

This lady was extremely talented and her leadership abilities were also top notch. Rein was sure that she would do a good job in taking care of the city in the absence of a proper leader. Mainly because of her existence, Rein was able to leave the city behind without worrying too much about it. Enjoy more content from empire

Their next destination was not a city but a small manor located a few kilometres away from one. This manor belonged to a banished noble family. They were the giver of the quest that Rein and his group needed to complete next.

...

While going toward the manor, Luna started to tell Rein and Lopas about the noble family they were about to meet. She had done her research about them before leaving the capital city.

The family they were about to meet were named Donesier. They had a rank 4 mage as their ancestor once but that ancestor of the family died in a battle. After that the family had a streak of bad luck one after another.

That family also did not manage to produce a second powerful mage for a long time. So the royal family took away their noble title. As soon as that happened, their enemies started targetting them. This made the life of the members of the family to be terrible.

So they sold all their family properties and moved to this remote location to avoid all those problems. The Donesier family had stayed in the remote location without doing anything for several decades now. So Rein was now quite curious why they suddenly needed the assistance of the magic academy.

In the mission description, the only thing mentioned was the need for assistance. As for what they actually needed to do, it was not clear. After meeting with the family head, they would be told about that. Rein was hoping that the work would not be too troublesome. If it was, he was ready to reject it. If he properly explained his reasons to the academy, it would be fine.

...

After flying for quite some time, they reached the area where the manor was suppose to be. As it was not located inside a city, locating it was quite troublesome. So after reaching the estimated location of the area, Rein flew high in the sky to search for the house. Fortunately as this area was a grassland, they were able to see for quite some distance.

After going a little bit up in the sky Rein was soon able to see the house. It was bigger than he expected it to be but at the same time it was also very unassuming. Not only that but after getting a bit closer to the house, Rein noticed that it was equipped with quite a powerful magical defense. It looked like even after falling and being banished, this family had managed to keep quite a few things from their prosperous times.

As Rein and his girls got even closer to the house, suddenly a few people appeared outside the house. Rein had already expected that as he had sensed the use of sensing magic. If he wanted he was able to avoid that but he had no need to do that, so he allowed the spell to detect his and the girls' presence.

After they came down from the sky, the three people who came out of the house welcomed them. Flying was not an easy thing, so their was no doubt that the people who had appeared here were powerful mages.

The man on the lead introduced himself as Feordio Donesier. He was the current head of the family. With his spatial sense Rein was able to see that this man had the talent for being a mage but it was not that great, he was quite old but still he had only able to barely reach rank 1 as a mage.

The two people behind him introduced themselves as his sons but unfortunately they did not have a talent for being a mage. Rein also introduced themselves as mages from the academy but hid their identity as a royal and a duke. They also did not mention their rank for the time being without knowing about the details of the job.

After going inside the house Rein found the inside to be just as simple as the outside. But all the things were of quite good quality. He was able to see many more family members looking at them from various corners of the house. The number of people Rein was able to sense was quite a large number. Now it made sense as for why their house was so large. To allow so many to live, it needed to be big.

Soon Feordio escorted them to a reception room. This room was more luxurious than the rest of the house. After sitting down, a few good looking ladies came to serve them sweets and drinks. Seeing how little the mages of the academy were, those ladies started fawning over them. They all were either the daughters of the family head or were wives of his two sons.

After Rein and the two ladies were done with drinking and eating only then did Feordio brought up the main topic for which Rein and team were here. But before that he stated telling them about his family history as knowing that was related to the job that he had for Rein and his team.

So what job did this man have for Rein, Luna and Lopas ?
