Chapter 7: Into the Dimensional Zone
As they passed through the rift, Leo felt a strange sensation wash over him. The world around them shifted, the landscape morphing into an otherworldly realm filled with vibrant colors and distorted shapes. The air crackled with energy, and the ground beneath their feet seemed to pulse with a life of its own.
The vegetation around them was a riot of colors, with plants that seemed to shimmer and glow in hues he had never seen before. Leaves glistened in shades of iridescent blue and purple, while flowers bloomed in intense reds and oranges, their petals almost seeming to flicker like flames. Tall, spindly trees with glowing trunks stretched towards the sky, their branches forming intricate patterns that cast strange, mesmerizing shadows on the ground.
Above them, three crimson suns hung in the sky, their light bathing the landscape in a surreal, otherworldly glow. The suns seemed to shift and move in the sky, their positions never quite fixed, creating an ever-changing dance of light and shadow. he's eyes widened in wonder as he took in the alien landscape. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before, a place that felt both beautiful and dangerous.
Maya glanced around, her expression one of recognition. 'This is a dimensional zone,' she said, her voice tinged with awe. 'It's a hunting ground, a place to hunt creatures that haven't stepped into the dimensional path. It's a junction where you can see beasts from all dimensions, though no one has discovered a fifth-dimensional creature, nor have they seen a first.'
Leo turned to her, intrigued. 'What do you mean?' he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
her eyes narrowed, her gaze intensifying. 'Don't be mistaken, this place is no sanctuary,' she cautioned. 'Compared to the mutated beasts on Earth, the monstrosities that dwell here will make those on Earth seem like puppies.'
he nodded, feeling a chill run down his spine. He knew that he had to be careful, that one misstep could be fatal.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind. 'You're in luck,' Lin said, his voice resonating within he's thoughts. 'This is the perfect place to solve your current situation. I'm guessing this girl is a 'made god'. She was probably sent here by her family to pick a beast to kill. By using the gene core of the beast, she should be able to step onto the dimensional path with the beast's ability and its dimensional plane.'
glancing at Maya, who met his eyes with a determined look. 'I came here to find and kill a creature from the fourth dimension,' she admitted. 'I need its gene core to ascend.'
Leo felt a mix of emotions - distrust, curiosity, and a strange sense of camaraderie. He knew that this journey was about to get even more complicated, but for now, he was determined to face whatever lay ahead.
Maya's figure blurred into the distance, her speed unmatched, leaving Leo in awe. "I trust you should be able to handle yourself," she had informed him earlier. "We'll have to separate, but we're to meet here by dawn tomorrow. If anyone fails to arrive by then, we should just assume the other is dead. We aren't the only ones who will be entering. To avoid getting robbed, we need to have each other's backs."
With those final words, she had sprinted across the horizon with a speed that would put a national athlete to shame. Leo took a deep breath, knowing the gravity of the situation. He felt the pressure of the impending challenges, but he steeled himself for what was to come.
As he stood there, the alien landscape seemed to stretch out before him like an endless, surreal tapestry. The three crimson suns cast an otherworldly glow over the vegetation, making the plants seem to shimmer and glow with an ethereal light. The air was thick with an energy that made his skin tingle, and the ground beneath his feet seemed to pulse with a life of its own.
Lin's voice echoed in his mind, 'I have calculated the best path for you, Leo. You should hunt the creatures that will give you the greatest advantage in the dimensional path.'
But Leo was hesitant. He didn't want Lin to choose his path for him. He wanted to forge his own way.
"I don't need you to decide my path, Lin," he said, his voice firm. "But I do need your help. I've decided to follow the sword path, based on a dream I had. Can you help me find creatures that are related to the sword?"
During his slumber through the decades, he had only dreamt once, and it was about a sword—a three-foot-long odachi. The mythical appearance of the odachi was etched vividly in his memory. The blade was forged from an otherworldly metal, shimmering with a silver-blue hue. Its surface was adorned with intricate, glowing runes that seemed to pulse with an ancient energy. The hilt was wrapped in fine, black leather, and at the guard, a dragon motif curled protectively around the blade, its eyes set with tiny, gleaming sapphires. The weapon exuded a sense of power and elegance, a perfect balance of beauty and lethality.
Because of this vision, he decided to pursue the sword path. This odachi would be his guiding symbol, and he aimed to acquire abilities and powers that resonated with the essence of the sword. The clarity of his dream gave him purpose and direction, even as he ventured deeper into the unknown.
There was a pause, and then Lin responded, "Very well, Leo. I will help you find the creatures you seek. But be warned, the sword path is not an easy one. You might not know but you might be the very first human to walk a weapon path"
Leo nodded to himself, his determination hardening his resolve.
Unknown to him, he had just made a decision that would save him from a future of damnation.
Lin continued, "I've searched the dimensional zone and found several creatures that are related to the sword. There's the 'Sword Wyrm', a creature from the second dimension that can manipulate metal and create powerful sword-like protrusions from its body. Then there's the 'Blade Dancer', a creature from the third dimension that has a body forged of swords, and emits sharpness."
leo's eyes widened as he listened to Lin's descriptions. He could feel his excitement growing, his desire to hunt these creatures and claim their powers.
"What about the first dimensional creatures?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Ah, the first dimensional creatures," Lin replied. "They are... different. They don't exist in the same way that creatures from other dimensions do. But I've found a creature that might be of interest to you. It's called the 'Echo Blade', a creature that exists as a resonance of sword energy. It's said to be able to imbue itself with the power of the sword."
he's mind was racing with the possibilities. He could feel the power of the sword calling to him, urging him to hunt down these creatures and claim their powers.
"I'll start with the Sword Wyrm," he said, his voice firm. "Where can I find it?"
Lin's voice echoed in his mind, "The Sword Wyrm can be found in the forests of the second dimension. But be warned, Leo, that forest is filled treacherous beasts and abominations, and the Sword Wyrm is not to be underestimated."
he nodded to himself, his determination hardening his resolve. He was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, to hunt down the Sword Wyrm and claim its power.
Getting the direction from lin , With a deep breath, he set off towards his destination, his heart pounding with excitement and anticipation. The hunt was on, and Leo was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
