Chapter 4: Unexpected Turn of Events
"So there are no clues despite 18 years having passed?"
The voice was overly cold, chilling to the bone.
The assistants couldn't get used to it no matter what and could only lower their heads like quails.
The man with deep seated eyebrows with a particular detached look pinched his brows in frustration.
"Leave," he ordered in a displeased tone.
He wasn't the least bit happy about his sister's whereabouts still not being found.
He had reached the height of being a CEO to the point of females trying to pour coffee on him to get his attention yet he couldn't find his dear sister.
She had been kidnapped abroad and could never be found no matter how much connections her parents leveraged.
Unlike his other siblings who went into different industries and chose to develop abroad to look for his sister, he had no choice but to return and look for her back home.
Just then, a carefree girl entered his cabin without even asking for permission.
Yet her movements clearly defined how familiar she was with it.
"Zeyou, you need to relax a little," she said with a sigh before reaching next to him and sitting on his desk without any reservations.
Despite his displeased mood, he didn't push her away, but didn't look at her affectionately like he usually did.
Apart from being a young CEO with a cold aura, he really wasn't like the typical CEO male leads.
He wasn't an old bachelor at the age of 30 or 35.
Instead, he had married early, around 25 itself.
And his wife was none other than one of the Movie Queen.
However, their marriage was a secret known to few as both came from respectable families.
They were even childhood friends and only got married due to having no opposition to it.
It was a typical slow-burn love-after-marriage romance but it all changed when it involved his sister.
Only he knew how much her existence mattered to his parents and even his brothers and other sister.
"I'll try," he said despite knowing his actions will probably be opposite that.
Hearing his words, a sense of satisfaction and an unknown gleam passed by his wife's eyes unbeknownst to him.

Back to Ming Yue, she had just gotten off the plane and quietly went alongside the Shen Family to the Shen Villa.
Despite their old Madam's recent departure, it was very lively with all kinds of preparation being done for the banquet in two days.
'Really now... is this the ultimate shattering of one's worldview?'
Ming Yue really wanted to say it out loud, but was afraid it would be detrimental to her plans.
In truth, she wasn't afraid of anyone if not for her body being quite weak.
[...Host, please be human. You can probably beat 5 or so bodyguards single-handedly!! Just what kind of person could claim such fighting prowess to be weak??]
'Shut up! You don't understand anything!'
Ming Yue huffed and entered the small room which the butler had told her was hers.
She didn't quite care, though.
It mattered little how they treated her and whatnot as she didn't plan on staying for long.
So, she just shut herself in the room to train herself and increase her chances to escape, even if only by a little.
After all, she used to be a spy and had very high demands for herself, making it impossible for the system to understand its host's unreasonable actions.
It was really its failure of human understanding.
Anyway, it gave up after recalling this host was excited about the Gossip System unlike any other.
So it would give the benefit of doubt to Ming Yue, who had only left the room for food.
Thankfully, the Shen couple didn't dare mistreat her or their reputation takes a hit for being bad to their foster daughter.
As rumours had leaked that they had found not only their real daughter but also brought back the one brought up by Grandma Shen, it became impossible to mistreat her.
Well, it was only until the banquet and who knows what her fate would be after that?
Ming Yue was already averse to rich families and hearing from the gossip system about their deeds, she was almost on the verge of throwing up multiple times.
It was only because she had nearly drained herself by exercising rigorously that she didn't even have the energy to do that.
'I wonder what their plan is?'
Clearly, she qas asking the system but it played dumb.
Not wanting to answer or unable to answer, it was of little importance to Ming Yue.
Since she planned to not eat or drink anything at the banquet or before it.
For goodness sake, she was cautious enough to bring her breakfast and lunch to her room, only to throw it away.
'While "No risk no life" sounds good on paper, it's completely stupid in real life!'
That's what she thought and firmly believed in.
And as the time for the banquet approached, a group of make-up artists and stylists came to her room with a dress that wouldn't stand out too much but wasn't simply plain either.
It could be said to just make her one of the various passers-by.
'Just perfect!'
Yet she was actually happy with it, making the system go speechless for the nth time.
[...Just what kind of host did I get this time?]
It murmured to itself, afraid that it would sound like a complain and he wouldn't be able to see the light of the day or find new hosts ever again.
Ignoring the system as she'd been for the past two days, Ming Yue quickly got ready with minimal make-up, jewellery and styling.
It was as if their employers request became too easy, making the workers even more happy that they seemed to have overdone themselves.
They wore stunned expressions after taking a look at the minimalist style of Ming Yue, which seemed more breathtaking the more they looked.
'Does this qualify as their request for her to be easily dismissed...?' The assistants couldn't help but wonder and nervously gulped but remembering they'd done as asked, they gradually relaxed.
