The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 176: What People Think Is the Truth

"So that's it."

Irina smiled.

If Peter Pettigrew's bodily functions are continuously drained by the alchemy cage throughout the year, by the end of the school year, he might not be able to escape, as in the original story.

Lynn said calmly, "Although I'm not interested in the four predators from the original book, I despise traitors."

At that moment, the group had arrived at the Leaky Cauldron.

Inside the Leaky Cauldron, Mr. Weasley was sitting at the bar, reading The Daily Prophet in his hand.

"Harry! Are you alright?"

Seeing Harry approach, Mr. Weasley smiled and waved.

Harry nodded and said, "I'm fine, thanks."

Harry, Ron, and Hermione took their purchases and sat with Mr. Weasley.

Mr. Weasley set down the newspaper, and Harry saw the photo of Sirius Black, the man he had seen so many times, staring back at him.

Harry asked, "Has the Ministry of Magic caught him yet?"

"No," Mr. Weasley said seriously, "The Ministry has reassigned all of us from our normal positions and is doing everything it can to catch him, but so far there's been no progress."

As the conversation about Sirius Black continued, Lynn and Irina had already gone upstairs to check the room they would stay in that night.

After all, for those who were already familiar with the plot, Sirius's story wasn't particularly unusual.

Downstairs, Mrs. Weasley entered the Leaky Cauldron carrying large and small bags, while the Weasley twins, Percy, and Ginny followed her.

Soon, it was dinnertime. Tom, the old owner of the Leaky Cauldron, pushed three tables together in the hallway. Lynn, Irina, Harry, Hermione, and the Weasley family enjoyed their seven-course meal.

After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms to prepare for bed.

However, when Harry was about to go to bed, a violent argument broke out from outside.

When Harry opened the door, he heard Percy shouting about the missing prefect badge and Ron talking about the missing rat reinforcement.

To avoid an argument between the two, Harry decided to go downstairs to search for the rat reinforcement that might have been left on the bar.

But things kept escalating. As soon as Harry reached the stairs, before he could go down, he heard a heated discussion coming from another room not far away.

This time, the parties in the discussion were Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and the content of their conversation actually mentioned Harry.

This caught Harry's attention, and he listened in on their conversation.

In that room, Mr. Weasley said excitedly, "We should tell Harry about this, he has the right to know. I originally wanted to persuade Fudge, but he insisted on treating Harry like a child. Harry is thirteen. He..."

"Arthur, the truth will scare him!" Mrs. Weasley shouted. "That danger is always there! Do you really want Harry to go back to school with that shadow hanging over him? For heaven's sake! For his own good, he'd be better off kept in the dark."

Mr. Weasley replied sternly, "I don't want to upset him, I just want him to be more alert! You know how Harry and Ron are, they often wander off alone, even in the Forbidden Forest!"

"Harry cannot do that again this term! I can't even imagine the danger he would have been in if he had escaped that night! If the Knight Bus hadn't picked him up, I'm sure he wouldn't have made it before the Ministry found him. He'd be dead."

Mr. Weasley said firmly.

"But he's not dead. He's fine. What's the need..." Mrs. Weasley still wanted to argue.

Mr. Weasley interrupted her, speaking in a deep voice, "Molly, they say Black is mad. Maybe he is mad! But he had the ability to escape from Azkaban. Everyone thinks that's impossible. It's been over a month, and no one has seen him."

"I don't care what Fudge says in The Daily Prophet every day. We're making no progress in catching Black. One thing we can be sure of: Black is looking for Harry!" said Mr. Weasley.

Mrs. Weasley replied, "But Harry is perfectly safe at Hogwarts."

Mr. Weasley scoffed, "We thought Azkaban was absolutely secure. Since Black can escape from Azkaban, he must be able to break into Hogwarts."

Upstairs, Harry overheard the conversation. From the discussion between the two, Harry understood the truth of the matter: what people believed to be true.

As Harry eavesdropped on the Weasleys' conversation, Lynn was refining the alchemy in his room.

Since it was decided to refine an alchemy cage to weaken Peter Pettigrew, the sooner it was completed, the better.

The sooner Scabbers was placed in an alchemy cage, the less likely Peter Pettigrew would be able to escape by the end of the school year.

Lynn waved his wand, and a red flame appeared in front of him.

He threw a piece of bronze into the flames. Under Lynn's control, the piece of bronze transformed into the shape of a metal cage.

During the day, the alchemy cage that Lynn and Irina had discussed was not difficult to make, and its original design didn't require complicated materials. Bronze alone was enough for the cage to carry all the materials that would be etched with an alchemy circle.

After using the flame to refine the bronze block into the shape of the cage, Lynn extinguished the flame in front of him and then took out his mithril carving knife.

Since Lynn had obtained the Philosopher's Stone and created the Demon God Authority, he had rarely used a mithril carving knife to carve alchemy formations. Creating formations from scratch had become an alchemy habit of Lynn.

But now, Lynn had returned the Philosopher's Stone to Nicolas Flamel. Without the magical power supply from the Philosopher's Stone, Lynn's magical power reserves alone weren't enough to complete a creation from scratch, so he had to return to his old methods. He used the mithril carving knife to create gold.

However, this school year wasn't limited to using mithril knives to create gold.

The Demon God Authority could transport more than just Philosopher's Stones. Ordinary magical crystals could also provide Lynn with magical power through the Demon God Authority.

Therefore, after Lynn refined enough magical crystals, he could temporarily use them to replace the Philosopher's Stones and use the magical power from the magical crystals to complete the creation from scratch.

Of course, magical crystals were far inferior to Philosopher's Stones in terms of durability and magical power reserves.

Not to mention allowing the Demon God Authority to operate at full power, even if Lynn were to maintain three sets of alchemy formations at the same time to fight, ordinary magical crystals might last less than ten minutes.
