Philip’s thigh was pierced by the sword that stood before him. Philip couldn’t suppress the pain and let out a groan. The eyes of those watching the Grand Duke twisting the blade, which was pinned with an expressionless face, became clear, and their bones shivered.
“When did you plan to sell your own daughters to secure the marquis seat for your bastard?”
“Ugh! Ugh…!”
“It’s a shame that I’m already here; it’s too late for you to regret your actions.”
Calix said in a mocking tone as he watched Philip, who was drenched in cold sweat from the terrible agony. Philip couldn’t endure it for long, either. When the sword pierced his other thigh, his eyes rolled back in his head, and lost consciousness.
“Drag them out.”
The soldiers disappeared somewhere with the unconscious Philip and Antony. Calix, who swung his sword lightly in the air, flicked off the droplets of blood. His gaze moved slowly.
Fear filled the faces of the servants. Realizing that their turn was next, they trembled and screamed.
“P-Please, spare us!”
“We only did as we were told!”
“Please… have mercy…!”
The inside of the hall quickly became chaotic. Desperate pleas and cries for mercy from those facing death grew louder.
Calix looked down at them without any enthusiasm. Any slight mercy was a luxury for them.
‘Asella.’
The image of his wife, who had suffered in nightmarish torment, came to mind. Thinking of the woman who had endured seven years alone in this hellish prison, his hand tightened on the hilt of his sword
Calix scanned the kneeling figures one by one. Each time their bodies met his blood-red gaze, they flinched. Tears flowed from the physiological fear, and some had dampened their pants.
Calix’s scarlet eyes gleamed coldly. His brief command was ruthless.
“Make sure the bodies are not left intact.”
“Understood!”
Desperate screams and pleas for mercy from the servants filled the air from all directions. However, the sharpened blades mercilessly sliced through their bodies. Each stroke of the blade created a spray of blood in the air. It was a gruesome sight.
Calix observed the entire time, his face expressionless.
In an instant, those who were once human became nothing more than severed pieces of flesh. When the commotion subsided, and the soldiers withdrew, there was nothing left alive. Only unrecognizable corpses and chunks of flesh remained, along with a massive pool of blood.
When it was all over, Calix tersely ordered his subordinate.
“I will return first. Handle the rest.”
Calix, who had been silently observing the mutilated corpses and the blood-soaked lawn for a while, finally turned his body and left.
