The Hunter’s Oath

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: A Dance in the Rain

The rain poured heavily over the shimmering surface of the lake, drenching the world in its rhythm. Isha and Madhav stood close, their faces a mix of relief and emotion, as the moment of truth unraveled between them.

Madhav looked into Isha's eyes, his voice tender but filled with conviction. "Isha, I've held this in for so long. I couldn't risk losing you."

Isha smiled softly, wiping raindrops from his face. "You're such an idiot, Madhav. Did you really think I didn't feel the same? You could've saved us both so much trouble."

Madhav chuckled, the weight of his unspoken feelings lifting. "So, are you saying we've wasted all this time dancing around each other when we could've been together?"

"Pretty much," Isha teased, but her eyes sparkled with affection.

Madhav held out his hand. "Then let's not waste another second. Will you dance with me?"

Isha glanced at their surroundings—the rain cascading down, the lake shimmering under the dim light of a distant streetlamp. It was far from a ballroom, but it was perfect.

"Yes, Madhav," she said, placing her hand in his.

As they danced in the rain, their movements were uncoordinated but heartfelt. They twirled, laughed, and stumbled, their soaked clothes clinging to their skin. Yet, neither seemed to care about anything but each other.

"I never thought we'd end up like this," Isha said as Madhav spun her gently.

"Neither did I," Madhav admitted. "But now that we're here, I can't imagine it any other way."

The rain began to ease, turning into a soft drizzle. They slowed their movements, and Madhav held her close.

"Isha," he whispered, "you've always been my partner, but now I want us to be something more."

Isha leaned her forehead against his. "We already are, Madhav. We always were."

The next day, at headquarters, their teammates couldn't help but notice the change between the two. Fire raised an eyebrow as he watched Isha and Madhav walk in together, their shoulders brushing, a certain lightness in their steps.

"Well, well, look who's glowing," Fire teased.

"Glow? What glow?" Isha said, trying to play it cool but failing as a slight blush crept onto her cheeks.

Fire smirked. "Oh, come on. You're practically beaming. Did something happen last night?"

Madhav cut in before Isha could respond. "Let's just say… some things became clearer under the rain."

Fire laughed. "Well, whatever it was, it looks good on you two. But don't get too comfortable. The next mission is coming up, and you'll need that focus."

Isha gave Fire a playful nudge. "Don't worry. We're still the best team here. Right, partner?"

Madhav smiled, meeting her gaze. "Always."

As they walked toward the briefing room, Isha felt a new sense of excitement. This was the beginning of something extraordinary—not just for their missions but for the bond they had always shared and finally acknowledged.

For the first time, it wasn't just Agent Water and Agent Fire.

It was Madhav and Isha.

And together, they were unstoppable.
