Chapter 62: Dino man
Omi put out his cigarette by pressing it against the concrete walls of the building. His eyes seemed tired and his posture was poor. It didn't seem like he cared to take care of his body.
He asked me to take the product and show him it. He stared down my pants pockets as I took out a bag of crystals.
"Here."
I handed him the bag which he scrutinised and confirmed.
"Let's go."
He didn't say anything more and just continued walking without any regard for my existence. We stopped at an abandoned warehouse with a broken window.
He started climbing and then hopped inside the building via the window. I was careful not to touch any of the broken glass and follow suit.
We came to a group of junkies who had lit a fire in a canister in the middle of the building. Their clothes were dirty and ripped and their teeth were decayed and black. They laughed as the two men started a fight.
Omi walked up towards them.
They handed him 100 livis but he shook his head.
"250."
"Guys, am I deaf or did I just hear 250?"
The other guys stood up and sarcastically said that he had gone deaf and blind.
"250 is the new price."
The man tapped his pants and looked back at Omi.
"Does it look like I have 250 livis on me?"
The man walked up to his buddies and asked them if they had any spare change. They all shook their heads.
"Motherfucker, didn't you say you robbed a hooker on the streets yesterday?"
The guy he asked shook his head violently and strongly denied the accusation.
The junkie without warning right hooked the guy in the gut and he fell in pain. While writhing in pain, the junkie plundered his pockets and took out some money.
"Here 240 livis."
Omi looked at the money with dead eyes and calmly replied that he was 10 livis short.
"C'mon man, it is only 10 livis, I pay you back later."
Omi turned his back and started walking back towards the broken window.
"Just give me my goddamn high!"
The man rushed towards Omi at full speed. Omi turned his head back towards the junkie.
"Begone."
The man threw himself to the side and started screaming and shivering. His body reacted weirdly and violently. He thrashed around like a fish on land and had foam coming out of his mouth.
"What the hell did you do to him?"
The other junkies looked at Omi, they all stood there motionless. Was it because they thought the violent junkie deserved it or was it because they were too afraid to act?
Omi left the building and I followed behind. We walked for a few hundred meters before he stopped and turned a corner, It was straight into a dark alleyway.
A skinny man with a dirty white shirt sat against the wall and smoked cigarettes. Wait… I know that guy, he was the guy the dumb cop let go.
He noticed us walking down the alley and he stood up.
"If it isn't my emo homie, Omi! Wassup bro, what you up to?"
Omi looked up at the building and stared at that one place for a moment before looking down at the skinny man.
"Aight bro, I don't know if you want to smoke, but Zerstörer isn't in there, his top men are inside but they gonna pop you if they see you."
Omi ignored his remarks and passed through. I slid through giving an awkward smile at the man.
We reached the building the skinny man was talking about, it was surrounded by big strong muscular men. Omi pushed them to the side as he tried to reach the door. Most of them thought we were just in a hurry and had to get through so they let us pass. But then at the entrance, two men in tinted glasses stood patrolling the door.
"I need to have a word with Zerstörer."
The men shook their heads. Omi rummaged through his pockets and took out the bag of crystals I gave him earlier.
The guards lifted his glasses and took a closer look at it. He opened the door and walked in, closing it behind us. He then came back out and told us to get in.
The place was far different from the place Devina and I were. There was no party, there was no business room. It was just stairs that led up to a single room.
The guard patted us down, he took my knife and a few other contrabands I had on me and took it in with him. Omi, didn't have anything but that one bag so we got let in.
A tall brown-skinned man with short hair sat by a desk with a machete on the table and stared at us. His room was decorated with the flag of Nautilus. The room had trophies and skulls of animals on the wall. His face had numbers tattooed on it, his eyes were the eyes of a hunter, staring right at us as if we were his prey.
"You come here to waste my time, give me your presentation already."
