Chapter 83: Chapter 08 - Idiotic Brute!
In the meadows of the city of Alexandria...
Arthur, held by nine men, kicked the knee of one in front of him, headbutted another behind and elbowed a third to his side.
Another bandit running – Why don't you just die?! – he shouted, charging toward him.
With two holding his neck, Arthur kicked the chest of the approaching bandit, then threw forward those gripping his neck, stepping on their heads and crushing them.
On the ground, another bandit stood up and placed a bracelet on Arthur's right wrist that locked tightly his wrist and forced to glue his body.
Seeing Arthur struggling to remove the bracelet, the bandit approached with a dagger in hand slashed him.
Alfred, in Arthur's mind, advised. "Boss, this bracelet is a seventh-class artifact, designed to pressure the victim with the same force he uses to try to free himself! Brute force is useless against her, use your left arm!"
The bandit retreated then lunged again, stabbing Arthur in the back with the dagger.
Another bandit approached to finish Arthur.
Bleeding from his back, Arthur sighed, elbowed the attacker, and blocked another strike with his dagger, throwing the assailant to the ground. – Where did you get that dagger?! – he demanded, taking the dagger from his back, and putting it away, but to his surprise there was no answer, the bandit was already dead.
Other bandits approached, and with his right arm trapped. With his right arm trapped, Arthur used his left to take the dagger from the bandit, piercing his chest and slashing another's. – Why are you so many...? – he asked, crushing bandit's head underfoot.
Hera, on Maximus' back, watched as Arthur dealt with the bandits. "There are many, I could help, but..." she pondered, yawning. "Naaah... He doesn't need my help. - she said, yawning as she watched Arthur.
"Hmph! I won't help that idiot! He's a wretched brute, he made me run for weeks without rest!" reasoned Maximus, turning his face away from Arthur.
Arthur manifested the Sacred Flames of Light, burning the bracelet off his wrist, and the flames spread across his body.
The bandits, seeing Arthur's body engulfed in fire but not consumed, exchanged fearful glances feeling the heat of the flames burn them, but advanced anyway.
Hera, lying on Maximus's back, stood up and with an astonished face as she watched Arthur emit a hot aura. – Is this the power of the Essence of Light...? – she questioned, sweating.
The power of the Essence of Light? It was only limited to two things: Arthur's trust in the Light, and his level of cultivation. The Sacred Flames were not at their maximum potential, at their maximum they could melt everything within a radius of fifty kilometers, heal an entire army, and purify those corrupted by darkness.
Arthur, ablaze, dodged a punch and delivered a super punch that pierced a bandit's stomach. He split the body in half and delivered a spinning kick to another's face, breaking his neck.
A bandit with another dagger sweating, tried to strike Arthur. "He's stronger! These flames have something out of the ordinary!" he thought as Arthur dodged his cuts.
Arthur blocked and pierced the bandit's stomach with his burning fist. "How long will I have to entertain these idiots..." he thought with an indifferent countenance.
A bandit tried to punch him, but Arthur blocked it and he cut Arthur's arm and chest.
Arthur grabbed him by the throat and removed it. "These daggers are strange! How do they manage to penetrate my body?! No! How do mere bandits possess this kind of daggers en masse?" he reasoned, smiling as realized they were not bandits.
The leader of the men, behind Arthur, delivered a super punch, throwing Arthur away.
Hera, watching, smiled. – Oh! That must have hurt, but it was satisfying to see him get beaten... – she vented, laughing.
"You can't imagine how much, sister! Hahaha! Take that madman!" Maximus thought.
Trying to get up, Arthur received another super punch, throwing him away again. "These are not bandits at all!" he realized, looking at their leader and noticing the pale skin and the sharp canines.
The leader tried to crush Arthur's head, but Arthur dodged. – Are you analyzing me, Treadway?! – he asked, kicking Arthur in the head.
– You've confirmed my suspicions, idiot! You were sent by someone to kill me, you're not worried about Hera! – Arthur said, blocking and dodging punches, delivering a punch to the leader's chin and another punch to his cheek, leaving burn marks.
The leader, with burn marks and Arthur's aura burning him, tried to punch him, but Arthur blocked and headbutted him. – Let's go! Fight, Treadway! – he exclaimed, punching Arthur in the chin.
"Hmph! It's time to disappear!" Maximus flew off, covering ten kilometers in an instant.
Frightened, Hera grabbed the saddle. – Maximus! OH MY GOD!!! – she exclaimed, holding the saddle tightly in fright. – What was that, Maximus?! – she asked, looking at the horse with his arms crossed and a frown.
Maximus looked away. "The idiot ordered me..."
Arthur, sighing, looked around. "Maximus has already taken her a safe distance away. I didn't want to have to scare her..." he thought. Dodging a punch, he struck the leader in the ribs, but received a punch in the face, retreating with the blackened punch mark as if infected by a poison. – You are not bandits...
Laughing, the leader drew a sword and advanced. – They were, I am not... – he said, with a smile that revealed his sharp canines.
