The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 63: Harmony Black

The moment that Bane was ripped into the house, the world around him went dark for a moment, and then he found himself lying face down on a carpet. He pulled himself up to see that it was in the entryway of what looked to be a luxurious house. Rubbing his head, Bane looked around with a frown on his face.

"Where have you taken me, Miss Harmony?" Bane asked as he looked around at the ornaments and shelves.

'I am waiting for you in the backyard. Walk through the house, and you will see a door leading outside.'

Bane sighed, but decided to keep his head clear. Instead of thinking about his current situation, Bane focused on the events of this morning and all the fun Lysia and him had. Sure, she tried to kill him numerous times, but Bane had been rewarded graciously, the image of Lysia yellow panties still fresh in his mind.

'You are really a pervert, you know? You know that I can see in your head, but you are thinking such indecent thoughts about-'

"I am going to stop you right there," Bane said as he walked out the back door into a strange scene of what looked to be islands floating around them in the air. Bane ignored everything around him, and walked over to the woman in a black dress with porcelain white skin and black, stopping before her. "Say what you will about me. Do what you will with me. I am made out of tough stuff, but I happened to care a lot for my soon-to-be other half. I won't have someone I just met start off by making rude comments about Lysia."

Harmony Black looked up at Bane and her pale red eyes looked him up and down. 'I see. I thought this would be amusing, but it seems I have found someone with some balls. While I have very little respect for the Elf, I am the one that asked you here, so I will stick to insulting you. Now, while I understand you wished to make a point, talk to me like that again, and you will wish for me to do this to you."

With a slight flick of her wrist, Bane was suddenly on his knees, just bare holding in the pain that was suddenly over every inch of his skin. It was like bugs were burrowing in and out of his body over every part of it. No amount of mana circulation through his veins changed this, but then Harmony flicked her wrist again, and The pain stopped, and Bane collapsed on the ground covered in sweat.

Anger ignited in Bane like a strike of lightning, and before Harmony could react, Bane was back on his feet, holding her by the neck. She was about to try and use a curse, but stopped when two finger tips nearly touched her eyeballs, filling her view.

"I think that we got off on the wrong foot, but only one woman is allowed to abuse me without my permission, and that ain’t you. Everyone has been telling me that I have to "watch my mouth" and "don't make her mad'', but I just am not that guy. You seem like a real bitch, so unless you plan on teaching me something useful, I think we are done. Also, try to use that bullshit on me again, and I pop both those pretty red eyes of yours without a second thought even if you get off whatever dumb magic that is," Bane said in an extremely calm voice, not moving.

"I see," Harmony said, and then put up both hands, and Bane let go of her neck, and pulled his fingers back. "I didn't think that I would find anyone like you in this village. I will not apologize for my behavior, though I am surprised that your mind was able to almost instantly recover from the curse. If I were to use the same curse on you at least five more times, you would probably be able to fully resist it."

Bane took a seat, ignoring her comment, and gestured to the floating islands in the sky, not even bothering to look at her. "What is this place? It doesn't feel like we're even in the village anymore."

A small vein popped out of Harmony's neck. She had never been treated so flippantly before like this, and every part of her screamed to curse this young man into oblivion. Yet, there was something very cold about this person, and Harmony didn't doubt that he would do just as he said.

"The island's are all an illusion, but the rest of this area is a domain that I discovered years ago," Harmony explained, trying not to grit her teeth.

Bane turned back and nodded. "Cool. So, what did you bring me here to teach me? Curses? I am pretty sure that is what you said, or have I irritated you to the point that you don't want to teach me?"

Harmony looked at Bane, feeling a swirl of emotions. While she hated to be talked back to, or even talked to period, something about this person had her feeling off. It wasn't just because he seemed to have no fear. Unlike the hundreds of people that had come in the past to learn from her, Bane was the only one that didn't seem to fear her. Harmony didn't know if this was bravery, or stupidity, but it was refreshing for some reason.

"I have been asked to teach you curses, yes, but not just any curses. I am known as the Queen of Curses, and this is because I have the ability to personally create curses," Harmony explained, and Bane nodded.

"Pretty cool, but how does it work? Do you just make them up, and bam, you can cast it? That feels pretty broken if that is the case," Bane mused, but Harmony wiggled a hand.

"The process isn't really what I would call easy, and it can be quite time consuming. It all depends on the severity of the curse you are trying to create. Curses aren't like magic. They feed negative emotions. Part of creating curses is understanding how to gather and harvest that negative energy, and then turn that into a curse. Once imbued with the proper amount and type of negative energy, the curse will not require anything to cast, but it is limited to a single target. While active, the same curse cannot be used until deactivated," Harmony explained, and Bane poured himself a cup of tea, and refilled hers while he listened.
