The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 66: Are You The Queen?

"Yes, while they are spares, I don't think you quite understand the importance of each of these weapons. Each of these are one of my kins souls that I was able to collect after a long past war. If you are to wield them, you must be worthy, and," Nina explained, but then her aura and the area around her got frosty. "I heard that you think that you have gotten stronger?"

"Ah, yes, about that..."

Nina stepped forward, and both Dory and Borat turned into light and formed into weapons in Nina's hands. The overgrown rat turned into a golden saber, while Dory turned into a silver spear. Both of them were covered in intricate engravings that seemed to glow with power.

Bane nodded, looking down at his hands, and summoned Kyoku and Yume. When he looked back up, Nina was gone. Alarm bells went off in his head, and Bane released Yume to take Kyoku in both hands, charged with Lunar energy around just in time to block a single strike from the golden saber. Mana was churning through his veins, but he still blasted back into the wall.

"Ouch," Bane grunted, but then his eyes bulged as the silver spear harpooned him to the wall.

"Don't move," Nina's voice ordered as she casually walked over to where Bane was skewered to the wall.

"I am a bit pinned down, so that would be hard!" Bane wheezed out as he breathed through the pain in his stomach.

"You are not worthy of wielding a Valkyrie's Astral Soul weapon. Even a normal Valkyrie wouldn't dare do so, and you want to learn my secrets?" She demanded, and Bane tried to grab the spear, but immediately regretted it as millions of volts of lightning discharged from the spear, and into him.

"AHHHH!"

"Borat was a loyal general in the war, and Madam Dory was the head of the clan, and an accomplished master alchemist. To even wield a single Astral Soul weapon is an honor! Do you even know anything about Kyoku or Yume? What about Agarta? You take three weapons, but you know nothing of who they were or the life they have lived!" Nina snapped, and then ripped the spear out of Bane, causing him to stubble forward, but his body was already healing.

"So, you are the queen or something? Is this why you are looking to fight, or is this the lessons I am supposed to learn?" Bane asked, wiping the drool from his mouth, and then looked up at Nina with defiance. "Stab me, poke me, even cut some limbs off, these weapons are mine, and you know it. I didn't steal them, they picked me. Does that mean that you don't respect the wishes of your people?"

"You!" Nina growled, and charged forward with her saber and spear, but Bane dodged the strikes, and then summoned Yume again as Nina turned on him.

"Yeah, me. I am that annoying pest, right? Then come teach me a lesson!" Bane snapped, and spun to the side, summoning one of Agarta's blades to kick at Nina.

Nina blocked with the golden blade, but her eyes were still frosty. She then stabbed forward with her spear, but Bane slapped it away, and then slashed across the front of Nina's armor, but the silver armor blocked his strike.

"What? You were going to attack my stomach?" Nina asked with a laugh, and then kicked Bane in the chest, sending him sprawling back, but he recovered his feet.

Bane laughed. "I am not going to get anywhere if I just look at you!"

Nina didn't reply, she just charged forward, and Bane did the same. As soon as she was in range, Bane dropped low, and swung his leg out, but Nina jumped, and brought her knee up. Bane didn't have time to react, and took it right in the face, but Nina wasn't done.

Bane was dazed, and Nina slammed the butt of her spear into his shoulder, making him stumble to the side, and she then followed it up with a spinning kick to his ribs. The blow sent him flying, and Bane crashed through a wooden pillar before hitting the ground.

Bane's vision was swimming, and his shoulder felt like it had been torn off. He had never had someone move so fast, and her blows had been powerful. Bane had thought Lysia was at the top of his game, but Nina was just playing with him like a ragdoll.

"You aren't a warrior, you're just a monster, so what makes you think you can fight me?" Nina asked, but the anger in her voice was gone, and Bane could hear her steps as she walked over. "Stand up."

"Why? I don’t want to," Bane grunted, trying to focus, and push himself up, but his vision was still blurry.

"Because I am not finished with you yet," Nina replied, and then reached down and pulled him up by the front of his shirt. "This was your first time fighting someone who knows how to use a weapon. I am the person that is going to train you in using these weapons, so that is the only reason I am helping."

"Then can I start calling you sensei?" Bane asked, his vision slowly returning.

In response, Nina drove her fist into his stomach, and Bane felt his insides explode, and all the air rush out. She let him go, and he crumpled to the ground.

"No, you will call me master. Your first lesson is that you don't get a choice. You will fight until I tell you that you can't, and if you complain, or try to stop me, I will hurt you more."

Bane stood up and dusted himself off, and glared at the beautiful woman in front of him. He was not going to like this, nor would it be easy, but at least she knew how to properly act cold, unlike some other fearmongers that didn’t live up to their name.

“Fine, let’s go. Teach me your ways, oh great master!” Bane said with a flourishing bow, but he didn’t make it back up before a foot drove into his stomach and lifted him off his feet.
