The Most Beautiful Girl in School Who Got Engaged is Devoted to Her Marriage Even Though it was a Political Marriage

Chapter 3 - When I Went to the Matchmaking Meeting, My Classmate Appeared [1]

The arranged meeting was to be held at a long-established three-stars Japanese restaurant.

On the day of the arranged meeting, I changed into a black suit and waited for my partner in one of the restaurant’s private room.

It’s my first arranged marriage, so I can’t help but feel nervous. However, the reason I’m nervous isn’t just because it’s my first time having an arranged marriage. I still haven’t been told who my arranged partner is.

“In the end, you didn’t tell me who my arranged partner was until today. Why?”

I asked the woman sitting next to me.

The woman, with a medium build, semi-long light brown hair and droopy eyes of the same color, looked to be in her early twenties. However, contrary to her appearance, her real age is 39 years old.

She is Sayuri Yamabuki, my mother who is also present today as the matchmaker.

“Hehe, why do you think that might be?”

“I am asking that question, though, aren’t I? ”

“I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you. It would be uninteresting.”

“Could you please stop trying to find fun in events that affect your son’s future?”

Although my mother’s tone was gentle and calm, her attitude remained nonchalant. I let out a deep sigh.

My mother, often mistaken for being an airhead due to her dreamy demeanor, is actually quite clever and mischievous. Her refusal to tell me about the arranged meeting partner is probably because she’s plotting something.

Even though she is my mother, she is a troublesome person…

Furrowing my eyebrows, I opened my mouth to question my mother.

“Yamabuki-sama. The person you have arranged for has arrived.”

At that moment, one of the restaurant’s attendants approached us. I swallowed the words that I was about to ask.

I don’t know what mother’s plan is, but if the other person has arrived, I have no choice but to let them into the room.

I let out another sigh and called out to my matchmaking partner outside the room, “Please come in.”

The sliding door opened and I opened my mouth in shock.

Standing in front of the sliding door was a stunningly beautiful girl wearing a kimono adorned with white lilies on a red background.

She had golden blonde hair that was partially tied up in a half bun, and she was a woman I knew quite well—or rather, I saw her almost every day.

“T-Tsukimisato-san is my arranged partner?”

“Yes. That’s right, Yamabuki-kun.”

Indeed, accompanied by a matchmaker who appeared to be her mother, it was the school’s number one beauty, Tsukimizato Renge, who stood before me.

Tsukimisato-san wore a smile that seemed to suggest she was enjoying herself. Despite the fact that my classmate was the arranged meeting partner, I showed no signs of being flustered.

I understood.

Tsukimisato-san was informed in advance that I was her arranged partner. I guess I was the only one who didn’t know anything about her.

It seemed my mother hadn’t told me who the arranged meeting partner was because she wanted to see my surprised expression… It was quite vexing, to say the least.

While I was feeling exasperated, Tsukimsato-san slightly bowed her head.

“I am Tsukimisato Renge. Thank you for considering this arranged meeting opportunity.”

“I’m Yamabuki Hidetsugu. I must admit I was taken by surprise and a bit annoyed by all this.””

As I grumbled in irritation, Tsukimisato-san and my mother laughed heartily, treating it as a successful surprise.
