Chapter 156: Chapter 156
The Witch watched in shock as Ali bent his mangled arm back into place and slowly stood upright. His body, once a broken and bloodied mess, was now completely healed, a sight that seemed impossible even with advanced Force healing.
Ali flexed his regenerated arm with a casual ease, then turned to face the Witch, his expression as cold and as ever.
"If you want to survive this, follow my lead."
The Witch straightened herself, nodding hesitantly. Her hands glowed faintly with green magic, but the exhaustion in her posture betrayed her fading energy.
"How much do you have left?" Ali asked, gripping his dual red lightsabers tightly as his dark eyes fixed on her.
"Not much," she admitted, her voice tinged with fear. "And the relic… it's not responding anymore."
Ali tilted his head slightly as if calculating her usefulness. "Fine. Just don't get close to him, and if you see him punching or clapping in your direction, move. I'll handle close combat, but I need you to distract him with your roots. Understood?"
"I can do that," the Witch replied, though her voice wavered slightly.
Ali gave her one last, pointed look. "If you even think about running, I'll run too—but toward you. And I'm faster, remember that."
The Witch's heart sank at the unspoken threat, but she nodded. Without another word, Ali took off toward Drogath, his movements a blur as he darted through the battered forest.
His eyes scanned the ground intently, searching for the comms device that had been severed along with his arm earlier.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Drogath's roar shattered the air, an ear-splitting declaration of his overwhelming rage. He slammed his colossal foot into the ground, unleashing a shockwave that split the earth itself. The tremor raced toward Ali, tearing apart soil, stone, and shattered trees in its path.
Ali launched himself high into the air, narrowly avoiding the oncoming destruction. As he soared, Drogath raised his massive fists and punched the air in Ali's direction.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The air warped and twisted as invisible waves of power shot toward Ali like battering rams. Crossing his lightsabers in front of him, Ali absorbed the brunt of the attack, but the sheer force hurled him backward through the air.
Ali landed hard, skidding across the ground before springing to his feet. His thighs pulsed with energy as he exploded out of place, his speed incredible as he closed the distance between him and Drogath.
Each step covered meters of terrain, his body a streak of red and black as he zigzagged to avoid the giant's gaze.
Drogath, sensing the approach, crouched low and leaped toward Ali with the force of a meteor.
BOOOOOOM!
The ground shattered beneath Drogath's landing, creating a massive crater as a shockwave rippled outward, obliterating everything in its radius.
Ali veered sharply to the side, narrowly avoiding the destruction. 'Damn, I really taught him how to counter me,' Ali thought as he sprinted away from the devastation.
Every one of Drogath's moves seemed designed to suppress Ali's speed and agility, leaving him with precious few openings.
'At least in this state, he can't use the gravity circle,' Ali noted grimly. 'If he could, I'd already be dead.'
Drogath's next punch sliced through the air, the force of it so close that it tore the skin clean off the left side of Ali's face.
Blood streamed down his exposed jaw, but Ali didn't stop. His healing cells worked furiously, regenerating the flesh before he even finished his next step.
Twenty meters from Drogath, Ali crouched low, drawing in a deep breath as he prepared for his next attack. The ground beneath him cracked and groaned under the pressure of his coiled legs.
BOOOOOOM!
Ali disappeared in a blur, leaving a crater in his wake as he launched himself toward Drogath with blinding speed.
Drogath snarled, his crimson eyes darting wildly. Unable to see Ali, he swung his arm in a wide arc, the raw Force energy radiating from him shredding the air itself.
Above Drogath, Ali materialised, his crimson lightsabers poised to strike. His body, however, was riddled with fresh wounds from the chaotic energy surrounding Drogath. A deep gash ran from his forehead to his jaw, his left eye obliterated.
BANG!
Ali's lightsabers crashed down on Drogath's head, but they were stopped cold by the thick layer of Force armour surrounding him.
Drogath retaliated with a massive swing of his arm, but Ali was already gone, vanishing just before the strike could connect.
BANG!
Ali reappeared at Drogath's exposed side, his lightsabers slicing downward. Once again, the Force armour absorbed the blow.
Drogath let out an enraged roar, turning and punching in the direction of the strike. The punch obliterated everything in its path, but Ali was nowhere to be found.
BANG!
Ali struck again from Drogath's blind spot, each attack carefully timed and precise. 'I told you, a fighter who loses his mind in anger dies in war,' Ali thought as Drogath roared and jumped away, creating even more destruction.
Drogath landed in another part of the forest, his crimson eyes scanning the battlefield. He growled low in his throat, searching for any sign of his elusive opponent.
"Thanks for the ride."
The voice came from above. Drogath tilted his head just in time to see Ali striking him six times in rapid succession, each blow targeting a vulnerable spot in his Force armour. The relentless assault finally began to weaken the protective barrier.
Drogath let out a deafening roar, the dark side energy surrounding him erupting outward in a violent explosion.
Ali barely managed to jump back, but the blast caught him midair, tearing open his stomach. He landed hard, clutching his abdomen as blood and intestines spilled out between his fingers.
Despite the devastating injury, Ali's expression remained calm. His healing cells went to work immediately, sealing the wound even as Drogath prepared to finish him off.
From beneath Drogath, two massive roots erupted, wrapping around his arms and yanking them away from Ali. The Witch, her face pale and drenched in sweat, stood at a distance, her hands glowing faintly green.
Ali seized the opportunity to grab his comms device, which lay abandoned on the ground. He activated it just as Drogath hurled a massive tree in his direction, dodging at the last second.
CLAP!
The sound was deafening. Drogath's hands collided, sending a shockwave rippling through the forest.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The ground was torn apart as soil, rocks, and shattered trees flew into the air. The force of the shockwave was so immense that Ali knew dodging to the side was futile.
Instead, he allowed himself to fall, a deep hole opening beneath him as he burrowed ten meters underground.
The Witch, watching from a distance, sent a root down to Ali, who grabbed hold and was flung back to the surface. Emerging beneath Drogath, Ali struck upward with his lightsaber, the blade carving into Drogath's weakened Force armour.
Ali landed on Drogath's shoulder, gripping the giant's helmet and yanking it free.
Drogath's face was a grotesque sight. His crimson eyes burned with rage, but the flesh around them was cracked and oozing, the dark side energy eating away at his body.
"Drogath, WAKE UP! IT'S ME!" Ali shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. "WAKE UP!"
Drogath responded with a mindless swing, missing Ali by inches. Ali leaped back, his right arm swelling red with energy as he launched a powerful punch directly at Drogath's jaw.
The punch collided with a sickening CRACK!, breaking through the last remnants of Drogath's Force armour and sending the giant stumbling back.
But Ali's victory was short-lived. Drogath used the Force to pin him in place, grabbing Ali by the leg and lifting him into the air.
SWING!
With all his strength, Drogath slammed Ali toward the ground.
But the impact never came.
Drogath looked down at his hand, realising he held only Ali's severed leg. Behind him, Ali limped away on one remaining leg, his lightsaber in hand.
Within moments, the severed leg began to regenerate, and Ali was running once again.
