Chapter 27: Pregnant
Chapter 27
The group had reached the Slavery Town, an extremely large settlement.
They found an inn and rented two rooms since all the coins Alex had created were now gone.
One room was where Luna, Lisa, and Kevin slept.
At the moment, Lisa was in Alex and Stella's room, explaining something to them.
However, Alex was distracted, talking to Agnes, the part of the system residing in his head.
"Yeah, yeah, I know I should create something that brings in revenue for me. It seems like I'm relying on the system too much," he sighed.
(As long as you understand that, then listen to what Lisa is saying,) Agnes replied.
Finally turning his attention to Lisa, Alex began to listen.
"So, we are at the borders between some small kingdom and the Soinas Empire. It's just like the Lawless City," Lisa said.
Lisa nodded and added,
"You might say all the towns between these empires and kingdoms belong to the man who owns the Lawless City. For us to even go back to Sorios City, it will take about two weeks without rest, which is impossible. So, at most, it would take a month."
"Damn, we went that far?" Alex was shocked. Even though days, weeks, and even a month had passed, he felt like it all happened too quickly. Sighing, he thought, Is there anything I can gain on the way back?
"Or we can just use a teleportation service to get there in about two days," Lisa added.
"Then that's easy. Why didn't you say that in the first place?" Stella asked.
"Because it's costly, and you need to be a noble or someone highly ranked to use them. Unless you know the Guild Master of the Lotus Guild of the Soinas Empire, some nobles, or a well-known powerful figure, it's impossible," Lisa explained.
"Why do they make such rules?" Alex inquired as he looked outside. The town appeared impressive—clean, with many adventurers and nobles strolling about.
The streets were lined with stores catering to every desire, some offering goods meant to indulge even the darkest cravings.
However, Alex noticed that many of the people roaming the town were sick in the head—except for the slaves, who were being forced into all kinds of degrading acts.
Alex hated what he saw, but for now, his plan to upset the man controlling the Lawless City required patience.
He sighed, knowing that the best way to help these people would be to give them strength.
But he couldn't do that, at least not right now.
The most he could do was help Lisa, Stella, Kevin, and Luna by giving them his Arcane Mana, which would accelerate their progress tenfold.
For instance, Lisa could reach (B- ) rank in just a week of intense training.
But he couldn't extend this help to everyone in the town, even if he wanted to. Sometimes, people had to fight their own battles.
Alex himself had plenty to worry about.
Even though he felt bad about his inability to eradicate slavery, he knew he wasn't strong enough to take on such a monumental task yet.
For now, staying neutral was his only option.
Sighing, Alex said, "Lisa, how about we finish healing the Wind Spirit?"
"I thought you'd never remember!" Lisa said with a smile. Truthfully, she was thrilled. The Wind Spirit held a special place in her heart.
"Can you wait?" Stella interjected suddenly.
Lisa, confused, asked, "Why?"
Alex was also puzzled, but sensing Stella's emotions, he sighed and chuckled a little. "Just come back in three to five hours," he said.
Stella smiled, her emotions reflecting Alex's own.
The reason for their connection was the marriage contract, which linked their souls.
This bond was forged on the first night Alex had slept with her.
In Alex's eyes, Stella would always belong to him.
As her hatred toward him slowly faded, their relationship deepened—not just physically but also spiritually—making their intimacy even more intense than normal.
Lisa noticed the strange looks they were giving each other.
Although she was still a virgin, she wasn't oblivious.
She sighed and left the room, sensing something "off."
Once Lisa was gone, Alex created a barrier around the entire room to ensure no sound could escape and that no one could enter or leave without his permission.
"Stella, I'm not letting you leave until you're pregnant," Alex declared.
Stella smiled widely and leaped into his arms. "Then let me bear your children," she said.
Meanwhile, about two kilometers away, Ava was watching a carriage carrying several children, all wearing slave collars.
There were six of them, chained together, their expressions utterly hopeless.
Among them was a ten-year-old boy with black hair and black eyes.
Why wasn't Ava attacking outright?
The answer lay in the man driving the carriage—a figure known as Bloodsucker, an SSS-rank entity.
Bloodsucker was primarily a bounty hunter, which made Ava question his presence.
'Did Zen hire him just to transport these children and protect them from me?' she thought.
'That can't be. I remember hearing that Bloodsucker refused a mission from the Overlord to protect a princess. So why this?'
She had no idea, but knowing where the carriage was headed, she thought grimly, 'I just hope that old man isn't there.'
Ava couldn't shake the regret she felt over her actions in Sorios City.
