Chapter 139: Chapter 139: A Hundred Thousand Troops
The mountain gate had cracked open, revealing the entrance to a small world?
Ever since Liu Yun had expanded the Wanxiang Sect and established the mountain gate in that area, it had been over three hundred years. Yet, a small world entrance had never been discovered. Now, with its sudden appearance, how could anyone not be astonished?
"Are you certain?" Lin Qian asked, his tone serious. The response was affirmative—indeed, the former Wanxiang Sect mountain gate had undergone an unusual change.
Given the remote observation capabilities of the battleship, Lin Qian trusted the report. If the scholars in the command room were so confident, there was little reason to doubt them.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Lin Qian issued his orders: "Move the battleships closer to the Wanxiang Sect's mountain gate. Halt at the nearest safe distance and closely monitor any changes. Relay the collected data to the Heavenly Works Department for Chancellor Zhuge to analyze."
"Understood!" The scholars quickly acknowledged his command. The five battleships, hidden within the clouds, began moving toward the former Wanxiang Sect mountain gate, which they had previously fled.
"By the way, Chancellor? Are you really playing emperor now, you brat?" Wei Wushuang teased after hearing Lin Qian's instructions.
Lin Qian merely smiled at his master without further explanation. "What do you think?"
"You rascal!" Wei Wushuang replied with mock exasperation.
"Master," Lin Qian continued, his tone turning serious, "could it be that the formation set up by that Black Blood Clan alien triggered the mountain gate to crack and expose the entrance to a small world? Could there be a connection?"
Wei Wushuang considered this and nodded. "It's possible that the alien's actions accidentally revealed a hidden entrance within the Wanxiang Sect's domain."
"However," he added, "I'm more inclined to believe that the alien's formation directly caused the entrance to manifest."
Lin Qian nodded in agreement and reassured his master. "Don't worry, Master. I'll get to the bottom of this."
Wei Wushuang, understanding Lin Qian's determination, chuckled and changed the subject. "I heard you took Lei Qian into the command room to show him the battleship's operations?"
Lin Qian nodded. "Yes, Master. Why? Are you interested in seeing it too?"
"Of course I am! That boy, Lei Qian, has been tight-lipped, even refusing to tell Lei Heng what he saw. How can I not be curious?" Wei Wushuang said, a gleam of excitement in his eyes.
"Alright then. Senior Wei, Sect Leader Mei, would you like to join us?" Lin Qian asked, turning his gaze to the two women.
Wei Qingqing showed little interest, but Mei Yuexia hesitated. "Are you sure it's alright for us to see? If we were spies, knowing such critical information about the ship's interior could be dangerous."
Lin Qian chuckled. "Even if you were spies, it wouldn't matter. Come on, I'll show you around." He then reached out to Ye Xin, who smiled and placed her hand in his.
With that, they followed Lin Qian as he led them toward the command room. The protective formation guarding the entrance to the ship's interior automatically opened for them, allowing them to proceed.
However, as they descended the stairs into the ship's lower levels, Wei Wushuang, Wei Qingqing, and Mei Yuexia all stopped in their tracks, astonished by what they saw.
They had entered the first deck of the ship's interior—a vast, open space, slightly smaller than the top deck. But what caught their attention were the countless figures standing in neat formations—heavily armored soldiers, all armed and ready for battle.
Whether it was sword-wielding warriors, towering shield-bearers, shadowy assassins, long-range archers, or spear-wielding infantry—every type of soldier was represented here.
As Lin Qian descended, every soldier knelt on one knee, lowering their heads in unison.
"Your Majesty!"
The entire deck echoed with the soldiers' unified chant. If it weren't for the formation containing the sound, it would have startled the disciples above.
"Each of these soldiers has the aura of a peak Void Shattering Realm cultivator," Mei Yuexia observed, her legs trembling as she tried to comprehend the scale of what she was seeing. "There must be at least a hundred thousand of them."
She was right. As a Void Shattering Realm cultivator and former sect leader of the Divine Sword Sect, Mei Yuexia had seen her fair share of powerful warriors. But the sheer number of peak Void Shattering Realm soldiers here overwhelmed her.
To put things in perspective, all of Linhai Prefecture's Void Shattering Realm cultivators, spread across the three sects, five clans, and various hidden cultivators, totaled no more than four hundred, at most. And even then, their levels of power varied.
Yet here, before her, stood at least one hundred thousand elite soldiers, all at the peak of their realm. If Lin Qian wished, he could easily wipe out the five clans of Linhai Prefecture with just these forces alone.
Even against a Life and Death Realm cultivator, these numbers could potentially overwhelm and exhaust them to death. However, this tactic would become less effective against someone at the Power Transformation stage or beyond.
After all, the gap between Void Shattering and Life and Death Realm cultivators was like the difference between heaven and earth. And within the Life and Death Realm itself, the disparities between the four stages were vast, like an unfathomable chasm.
Wei Wushuang and Wei Qingqing exchanged glances, each seeing the shock reflected in the other's eyes.
"Brother, what exactly has your disciple been through?" Wei Qingqing communicated telepathically to Wei Wushuang.
Taking a deep breath, Wei Wushuang shook his head slightly. "Who knows? When I first met him, he was just a poor kid who couldn't cultivate. But that harsh environment on Prison Island ground away his innocence, shaping him into what he is now."
"After returning from Bashan City, he became increasingly unfathomable. But I never intended to pry into his secrets. All I know is that he's my good disciple, and he saved my life. That's enough for me."
Wei Qingqing nodded, feeling reassured as she looked at Lin Qian's back. "As long as Xin'er is in his care, I have nothing to worry about."
With that, Lin Qian led them to the command room. Mei Yuexia now understood why Lin Qian had said that even if they were spies, it wouldn't matter—who would dare act recklessly with an army of one hundred thousand peak Void Shattering Realm soldiers standing guard?
Upon entering the second deck, where the command room was located, the group was once again amazed by the sights before them.
Even Wei Wushuang and Wei Qingqing, who had seen many wonders, were awestruck. This time, their astonishment was genuine.
Lin Qian couldn't help but smile, knowing that his earlier suspicions were indeed correct.
