The Power Of The Sin Of Wrath

"That thing is strong, too strong" Rio muttered as he pushed himself to his feet, rotating his waist and shoulder blades as he got himself accustomed to the feel of being thrown through a wall.

"A bit of pain in my back, but it's just a dull ache"

Looking at the family to the side, Rio raised an eyebrow as he noticed that they had all fallen to their knees and had an expanding pool of liquid on the floor between their legs, not even the father exempted.

"Not setting a good example Mr. Larry" Rio chided the man having interacted with him sometime in the past.

Forgetting about the cowardly family, Rio walked out of the house through the hole he had created, coming out just in time to see that the level 4 Direhogs howls had cleared up most of the mist around the portal and that it had also just gotten through it.

Focusing his gaze on the beast, Rio groaned within when immediately it got free, it fixed it's sight on him but then he was left surprised when rather than immediately charging at him, it narrowed it's big eyes in caution.

"Weird, it didn't even have an ounce of fear for me when it was crossing through the portal"

"Graaaaa" The beast growled as if asking a question and Rio who didn't speak beast tongue could only wave his left hand as he moved closer to it.

Tightly holding his trusty axe, Rio did not dare let his body slack as he approached the beast.

The closer Rio got, the more tense the Direhog got, the fur on it's back visibly standing and then when Rio got within 10 meters of it, it slammed it's right paw down on the ground in warning gesture telling Rio to stop.

"Yeah right" Rio thought and at that instant, he gave all the power he had to his right foot blasting off the ground and before the level 4 knew it, he was right in front of it.

Rio thought that with the surprising fear the beast had shown he would get the chance to land a critical hit on it, but as his blade went to chop off its head, it pushed its paws off the ground getting out of his way.

Using all its four limbs, the level 4 sent its body speeding and careening around Rio so it appeared at his back and then its head shot forward, its maws opening to also snap off Rio's head.

"Fuck" was all Rio could think as not even looking behind him he jumped forward on instinct, rolling out of the way of the bite and then getting up from his roll jumped to the side with all his might, tumbling to the left and gulping as his fast movement just saved his body from being smashed by the large paws of the level 4 beast.

Immediately getting to his feet once more, Rio brandished his axe wanting to run forward, but then his eyes came in contact with the red hungry gaze of the level 4 and he felt a weighty painful force fall on his head.

"Don't be silly, I am the predator and you are the prey, your flesh is my meal for the evening"

Without stress, Rio shrugged off the mental suppression, the ease with which he did it surprising the level 4 and causing it to roar out in fury.

"Shut up," Rio said as he got close to it and clashed the blade of his axe against it's claws.

Beast against man, using their claws and axe, they pushed against each other and after some seconds, Rio could only give up on the struggle, using the push from the level 4 to jump back and create space between them.

"Hehehe" The beast laughed, mockery for Rio in it's eyes.

"Well, I didn't see that coming" Rio thought, not expecting humor from his opponent.

Taking a step to the side, the beast snarled at Rio and then it pounced towards him, it's eyes brightening when Rio remained in place, but then before the beast could be upon and have another go of trying to rip into his body, Rion dived to the side and when he stood he continued running.

The beast was at first surprised at Rion's actions, but then realizing that its prey was fleeing it roared and gave chase.

"Troublesome beast" Rio muttered crossing into the lawn on the other side of the road, speeding past it and running between two houses.

"With its size, it would need to smash through the walls of these houses to get to me and that should buy me some time" Rio thought.

Rio's plan was to speed to the garage of a well know tree cutter in the neighborhood and get his machine saw. 

Unlike the Level 2 direhog whom he could outpace and outreach with his axe, the long limbs of the level 4 and it's high strength and reaction speed made Rio unable to get close it and dish out a significant attack.

The beast used its limbs to keep Rio at a distance and the claws on it to fend off the blade of his axe.

Rio believed that if he could get a machine saw, then all he would need to do is get close to it and then instead of wasting valuable time looking to get a swing in his axe when he wanted to attack, he would just have to pierce the saw in the body of the beast.

The plan looked good enough to Rio, but before he could cover the few remaining steps to the garage, the sun above was blocked out as a massive body soared over him.

"No way" Rio thought having not expected the big heavy level 4 to have the strength to leap over the obstacle in his path and even over him who was ahead.

With a heavy sound, the level 4 landed on the ground, turning on its front limbs so it was face to face with Rio, but if it thought that its feat would put fear In Rion it was wrong, because just simply seeing his plans being cut short lit up the anger in Rio and without hesitation, he dug the fingers of his right hand into his left arm then clawed four deep gashes down it.

"I'm so going to kill you," Rio said the bloodthirstiness in his tone making the level 4 blink in fear and then in defiance it roared at him and ran forward.
