The Real Harry Potter

Chapter 115: The Plot Unfolds

Minister Fudge sat in his office late at night, behind his desk, quietly filling out forms. While he loved being the Minister of Magic he could do without all the paperwork, honestly he would have so much more time to just relax and enjoy himself if not for the bloody paperwork. As he filled out his forms he could not help but wonder how Dolores would be doing as the students returned to Hogwarts. As of right now Minister Fudge simply wished that Dumbledore would admit that he was wrong about you-know-who and stop causing panic so Fudge could get Dolores back.

He did not know why Dumbledore insisted on claiming that he-who-must-not-be-named was back but all Fudge knew was that he could not let it continue, the people would panic and he was not built for war and mass panicking. Surely if you-know-who was alive then proof would have been found years ago, he had to be dead, after all Harry Potter had defeated him when he became the boy-who-lived.

Speaking of Harry Potter, Fudge was glad that the young boy was not joining Dumbledore in his decent to madness. He had originally been rather worried that the boy would start agreeing with Dumbledore, more likely out of a sense of respect and worship for Dumbledore than any other reason, but he was pleasantly surprised when he did not. Dumbledore had everyone convinced that Harry Potter looked up to him, heck before the goblet of fire incident Fudge would have suspected that the boy was someone who would worship Dumbledore. Apparently not.

"Fudge." A voice said. Startled as nobody else was supposed to be in his office, he looked up and his eyes widened in shock when he saw the dark wizard that Harry Potter had fought at his muggle relatives house. 'Apophis' if Fudge remembered right.

"What the devil...guards!" Fudge screamed.

"They can not hear you." Apophis replied in a bland voice.

"What the hell do you want?" Fudge demanded as he discreetly reached for his wand. He was not discreet enough as Apophis noticed, Apophis flicked his wrist and his wand shot into his hand before he shot a bone breaker at Fudge, hitting him in his right shoulder. Fudge screamed out in pain right before Apophis hit him with a silencing charm followed by a cruciatus, Fudge screamed as his entire body was covered in pain. He fell off his chair and shook on the floor for several seconds before the pain was lifted.

Fudge gasped in pain as tears poured out of his red eyes, a second later he felt himself rise into the air by his ankles and hanged in the air from his ankles. He looked at Apophis who, despite being upside down as far as Fudge was concerned, still looked intimidating and scary.

"W...what do you want?" Fudge cried out.

"Dumbledore is tired of you not listening to him." Apophis answered as his wand tip grew green. "Dumbledore thinks if you are not going to listen to him then you are not worthy of being the Minister of Magic, soon Dumbledore will take over as the new Minister of Magic." Apophis said, frightening Fudge.

"Step away from him!" A voice shouted. Apophis turned to the voice and Fudge looked past him to see Lucius Malfoy standing in the door way, Fudge watched as the two quickly engaged in combat and shot spells at each other until he was forced to close his eyes due to a bright light. When Fudge finally opened his eyes he was looking up at the face of Lucius Malfoy.

"Cornelius?" Lucius said in a concerned voice as Fudge looked around for Apophis. "He is gone," Lucius said, understanding what Fudge was thinking. "what happened?"

"He...he was sent by Dumbledore!" Fudge shivered.

"No!" Lucius gasped disbelievingly.

"It's true!" Fudge cried. "He told me himself, he was going to kill me Lucius!" Fudge sobbed.

"Shush, it will be fine. I will help you," Lucius said in as sincere a tone as he could manage. "first let's get you medical attention and you can tell me all that happened."

"Is it done?" Voldemort asked.

"It is done," Apophis nodded. "Malfoy was competent enough to appear on time."

"That is good," Voldemort smiled. "I am sure that he did not hurt you during your performance?" Voldemort said with a questioning look.

"He is competent enough to not unintentionally hurt me but he is not competent enough to intentionally hurt me." Apophis replied.

"No," Voldemort chuckled. "I did not think that he was. Hmm, poor Dumbledore, I almost feel sorry for him."
