The Rise of Valyria - House Belaegon

Chapter 2: Chapter-2 Awakening

In the ruins of Oros, a city by the Smoky Sea, stood a grand mansion surrounded by a transparent barrier. Despite its destruction, the mansion still retained traces of its former glory. Inside one of its rooms, three unconscious individuals with white hair lay on the floor, slowly beginning to stir. About ten minutes later, all three suddenly opened their gray eyes, looking around in confusion at the unfamiliar surroundings.

The tallest of the three, broader-shouldered than the average Valyrian, said, "Children, the Red Flame's words were true. We have truly come to the world of ice and fire. I thought it was only a dream."

Hearing this, the one with the darkest gray eyes asked, "I thought the same as you. But where are we now? How did we survive the Doom? Where are our dragons? And how have they stayed alive for so long?"

The tall one was about to respond when the third, silent member interrupted, "Leave it to me, Vaegon. I'll shut his overly talkative mouth now," and lunged at the dark-eyed boy, punching him repeatedly. While punching, he shouted, "You idiot! Didn't I tell you to drive the chariot properly?"

As they fought, Sezayi noticed that Taylan had called him "Vaegon." Wondering why he didn't use his real name, he stood up to intervene and rescue Arda.

"Enough! Stop it! Don't fight!" he shouted. When they didn't listen, he realized he had to physically separate them. Slowly approaching, Sezayi saw that Taylan hadn't noticed him.

Just as Taylan was about to land another punch on Arda, Sezayi grabbed him by the waist and threw him across the room. Kneeling next to Arda, Sezayi examined his swollen eyes and bruised face. Furious, he shouted, "Vaelar! What did you do to Darion? He's only been in this world for an hour, and you've already wasted one of our elixirs! You'd better master that potion recipe soon!"

Sezayi got up and began searching for a healing potion but found only broken chairs and an empty bookshelf.

"Vaelar, do you know where the things we need are? If you do, tell me so we can leave this cursed place. I have a bad feeling about this," he said.

Taylan, confused about being called "Vaelar," looked at him. When Sezayi repeated the name, Taylan said, "First, why are you calling me Vaelar, Vaegon? Second, how would I know? I came here with you." He paused, then added, "It's like you've never read fan fiction before. Treasures like these are usually kept in a treasure room. And the treasure room is near the dragons we'll ride."

Realizing Taylan was right, Sezayi calmed down. Earlier, Arda's condition and the thought of death had shaken his composure. Without further thought, he said, "You're right, Vaelar. As for our names, we can't seem to use our old ones anymore. Look, no matter how much I want to, I can't call you by your previous name. These names are now our new identities, and we must adapt. Now, carry Darion on your back. Let's find the treasure room and our dragons and leave this place."

Taylan shouted, "Why do I have to carry him? That bastard is heavy as a dead horse! Aren't you stronger than me?"

Sezayi smacked Taylan on the head. "You should've thought of that before knocking Darion out, you little brat! Next time, don't knock anyone out in a dangerous place like this!"

Grumbling and cursing under his breath, Taylan lifted Arda onto his back, ignoring the pain. The three of them slowly left the room.
