Chapter 36: DIAMOND DEALS
"Your fiance?" He scoffed dismissively.
"Yes, my fiance. Is it such an odd request? I want to talk to him. To reassure him that I'm fine."
"Don't you think your father would have done that already? I'd suggest you call your father instead."
"If you want to play smug gangster with my father, feel free to do that on your own terms. But if you're trying to pretend you're doing me some favor, then I want to talk to my fiance."
Ares moved his jaw from side to side in quick thought, before nodding his head.
"Alright. You can talk to your fiance. That's not a problem."
He turned around, and walked to one of the many compartments on his desk.
Opening a drawer, he brought out two phones.
He walked up to Angel, and projected one of the phones towards her.
She eyed his outstretched hands carefully. There was no way he easily just gave in to her, she thought.
"What are your motives, former Mr unicorn?" She asked suspiciously in her mind.
"Are you going to take it or not?" He asked, already retrieving his hands, when she reached out, and snatched the phone from him.
She quickly began to dial the number, before he could change his mind.
On the first ring, her fiance answered the call.
With shaky fingers, she brought the phone to her ears.
Ares walked back to his desk with the other phone in his hand, and rested his back on the table.
He crossed his legs, as he stared at her patiently.
"Who is this?" She heard the impatient voice of her fiance, and flinched.
Ares observed her eyes. It was fear. Nothing like the expression she wore around him, even if she had every reason to fear him.
"Its— it's An-gel," she stuttered.
"What?!"
He ended the call, and called again. But this time, it was facetime.
She turned the screen towards Ares, confused on what to do.
Ares noticed she was shivering. Why was she so scared? He asked in his mind.
Signalling for her to move, she did, until it was just the wall whoever was on the other end could see.
She answered the call, and the golden tresses of her Fiance filled the screen first, before she saw his face.
The one thing she admired about their relationship was how they both had golden locks.
Whilst hers was more copper in color, it didn't change the fact that they were both blondes.
"Hey Blondie. What is this?" He asked in an irritated voice, the second he saw her.
She was now on loudspeaker, and dreaded having to talk to him in the presence of Ares.
Also, she hated to be called Blondie. It just felt so insulting, and stereotypical.
"Hey, David. How are you doing?" She asked, stumbling all over her words.
Ares watched on in amusement. This was peak cinema for him.
"How am I doing? How am I doing?!" He screamed, and she jerked behind. "I can't believe your nerve! I spent so much money getting sponsors to come for your show. Only for you to bail on me? What kind of ungrateful brat does that, without even having the decency to give me, her fiance, a heads up?!"
Angel took a deep breath, waiting for the wave of his anger to pass before she responded.
"Where are you even? Because I for one do not believe the bullshit excuse your father gave me. A mental health break? What are you? Twelve, and poor? Spare me!" He hissed spitefully.
Ares' amusement grew to irritation very fast. It would seem like her fiance loved his voice a lot. So far, he hadn't even given her a chance to speak.
"I give you everything you ask for. In return, all I've ever wanted is your loyalty. But how can I be assured of that, when you up and leave whenever you please? You don't even think to tell me about your whereabouts? How much more stupid can one get?" He continued, cursing loudly.
Angel remained silent. She blamed herself for everything. It was because of her absence, he was acting this way.
Meanwhile Ares was stunned. He didn't expect to be that shocked, but he was.
She looked like she wouldn't mind the ground opening, and swallowing her whole.
He almost wanted to see what the man that had so much hostility in him looked like.
Maybe his looks were the reason she was enduring such crap.
"Are you mute now? Where the fuck are you, Blondie?!"
Her head shot up, and her mouth opened to respond, when the phone was snatched out of her hand.
"No!" She gasped, but it was too late.
Ares had brought the screen to his face already.
"Who the fuck are you?" David's nose wrinkled on seeing Ares.
"The person who is fucking the woman you'll be marrying soon," he replied.
"Please no! Don't do that. Don't believe him please, baby. It's not true!" She screamed, going after Ares.
He easily dodged her, and continued speaking like it was nothing.
"But she kept on talking about her fiance, and it made me wonder, who is this man that has her so captivated? Now that I see you, I'm frankly underwhelmed. Not only do you look like a freaking virgin, you're also an asshole."
"Please, stop it!" Angel cried, going after Ares again.
Once more, he swerved past her, and went over his desk.
"Blondie, what kind of fools are you hanging around? Give my fiancee the phone. I want to talk to her!" David screamed.
Angel tried to go over the desk, but he had blocked, and locked it up, so she found herself contemplating jumping over it, as the only option left.
"She doesn't want to talk to you. But here's a visual that I'm sure will keep you warm tonight. When this call ends, I'll spread your lovely blonde legs on my table, and eat her until her juices trickle into every hole in my face. Bye motherfucker!"
He ended the call, and tossed the phone on the table.
"What did you do that for?!" She screamed, as tears rolled down her eyes.
He unlocked the desk coverage, and began walking towards her.
"You shouldn't have done that," she cried. "You don't know—"
"I do know that someone with a face and attitude like that couldn't have ever given you an orgasm. It's no wonder you act the way you do. So here's a deal for you, princess. Tell me everything you know about the diamonds, and in return, I'll give you your first orgasm."
