011 - Effortlessly Create a Legendary Magic Tool
I brought the transformed Felmaa into the log house and took a good look at her.
She appeared to be in her early twenties, with long, soft, silver hair. From the top of her head, two perky dog ears stood upright.
Her body was curvaceous, with a well-defined chest, a slim waist, and shapely hips—a figure that would make even gravure idols run for cover. A fluffy silver dog tail sprouted from the base of her spine.
In her human form, Felma was currently dressed in nothing but one of my white down jackets.
If a young man were in front of her, he’d probably blush and look away.
Felmaa was surrounded by her pups, Felta and Felko, who were sniffing her persistently.
Meanwhile, Felmi-chan was nestled comfortably in my arms.
“Hey! Felta, Felko! Stop that!”
The pups had latched onto Felmaa’s chest, but…
“Can you even produce milk in that form?”
“No, it doesn’t seem so.”
“So, you’ll have to return to your Fenrir form to nurse?”
“Yes. It also appears that maintaining this human form consumes a considerable amount of magical energy.”
“So, you can’t stay in this form for too long.”
“Exactly. However, I’m not running out of magic power just yet.”
“Okay, just let me know when it’s getting low.”
If she reverts to her original form inside, the log house would be destroyed.
After a while (nursing time), Felta and Felko fell asleep after feeding. They were now lying face down, fast asleep on the electric carpet.
“For now, Felmaa, put on some clothes.”
“If that’s what you wish.”
I dressed her in my clothes that I had bought from KAMizon. Then I immediately had to take them off. The size was completely wrong, especially around the chest.
“I’ll get you some new clothes.”
“Oh no! That’s far too generous!”
“It’s fine, really. I have plenty of points, and besides, you’re the one who helped earn them, Felmaa. So don’t hesitate.”
“If you insist, my Lady.”
And so, I decided to buy Felmaa some clothes. I grabbed my tablet PC and sat next to her.
“Here, you can choose whatever you like.”
“What is this thin board?”
“It’s a catalog for clothes. Umm, it’s a kind of book.”
“A book!? This thin board is a book?”
“Exactly. See, when you slide your finger across the surface, it’s like turning the pages of a regular book.”
“Oh! The pages turned! This is incredible!”
Before long, Felmaa finished selecting her clothes.
But then…
“Felmaa, are you really sure about the maid outfit?”
What she chose was a maid’s outfit: a black skirt, frilly apron, and a headdress. The phrase “beast-maid” flashed through my mind.
“Yes. I serve the divine, so I thought a maid’s attire would be appropriate.”
“Well, if that’s what you want, then that’s fine.”
A dog-eared maid in a Japanese-style room—a total mismatch. But since she liked it, I wouldn’t argue.
“By the way, Felmaa, what happens to the clothes when you turn back into your Fenrir form?”
“They would… tear apart.”
“Yeah, I thought so.”
Felmaa could transform into a human, but she couldn’t adjust the size of the clothes.
“It would be disgraceful to repeatedly tear the clothes you’ve kindly gifted me.”
Even though I had plenty of points, constantly tearing and replacing her clothes would be incredibly annoying.
“This is a problem… What should we do?”
“Hmmm… Oh, let me try searching the internet.”
Earlier, I was able to search Felmaa’s status on the internet, so why not try this?
“Let’s see… ‘Fenrir transformation clothes that don’t tear.’ Search.”
And then…
“I found it.”
Apparently, the internet really had evolved. My internet skill now allowed me to access and even search for knowledge from other worlds. Isn’t this a total cheat?
“Looks like I can use ‘Become a Familiar’ to solve this.”
Felmaa tilted her head in confusion, not understanding what making clothes a familiar could possibly mean.
I opened the app ‘Become a Familiar’ and snapped a picture of Felmaa’s maid outfit.
To make something a familiar, you simply take a photo and register it. So far, it was just like when I made Felmaa my familiar.
But this time, it was different. The screen prompted me to name the familiar.
I wrote, “Shape-shifting Maid Outfit.”
“Alright, Felmaa. Let’s head outside.”
Felmaa followed me, still puzzled, to the yard outside the log house.
“Felmaa, transform back into your Fenrir form.”
“Yes!”
With a flash, Felmaa’s body began to glow and grow larger.
With a puff of black smoke, a silver beast appeared, wearing a large ribbon around its neck.
“Good, it seems to have worked.”
‘What do you mean? What about the maid outfit?’
“I transformed the maid outfit into that ribbon around your neck.”
‘!?’
“Why are you so surprised?”
‘Because, my Lady, you have accomplished an extraordinary feat!’
“Extraordinary feat…?”
Did I really do something that amazing?
‘Infusing non-magical objects with magical properties is called “Magification.”’
“Magification? And…?”
‘Magification techniques have been lost since ancient times.’
“…What?”
Lost…?
“No way. But what about magical tools? Aren’t those also Magified?”
Magical tools are objects that exhibit magical effects. I don’t know how they’re made, but if they’re infused with magic, doesn’t that count as Magification?
‘To create magical tools, you need something called a magic stone, which is harvested from magical creatures.’
“A magic stone?”
‘Yes. By engraving spells onto the magic stone and embedding it into an object, magical tools are made.’
“So, magic stones are essential for making magical tools.”
‘Exactly. But my Lady, you just added a shape-shifting effect to clothing without using a magic stone, didn’t you?’
“…I did, didn’t I?”
Now I understood what Felmaa was trying to say. To create magical tools, magic stones were necessary, yet I hadn’t used one.
‘In this day and age, no one is capable of pure Magification without a magic stone, not even the finest craftsmen in the Dwarven Kingdom.’
“I see…”
‘And I’ve heard that even using magic stones for Magification requires enormous costs and time.’
What I did was just take a quick snapshot and name it. It didn’t even take 10 seconds.
‘You’re amazing, my Lady!’
It seemed I had unconsciously performed something incredible. Indeed, if I could just turn something into a familiar and name it, I could easily create magical tools without spending a dime.
I could make a fortune selling these. But, I definitely won’t do that.
Because if I were to sell these, people would start asking how they were made, and that would be a huge hassle. I don’t want any part of that.
Besides, Felmaa could just keep hunting magical creatures to make money. There’s no need to sell magical tools.
“Felmaa, let’s keep this between us, okay?”
‘Understood! This will be our little secret.’
Felmaa happily wagged her tail.
“Good. Now let’s head back to the Fenrir pups.”
With a puff, Felmaa returned to her human form, fully dressed in the maid outfit.
But… the internet is really amazing. Or rather, it’s kind of scary. I can even search for knowledge from another world.
Could I find out how to conquer the world if I searched for it?
Well, not that I’d do that. All I want is a peaceful life.
Still, with the internet, I have even less need for that useless goddess. Up until now, I’d always asked her questions through Line when I didn’t understand something.
But often, she wouldn’t reply right away, which caused a lot of frustration.
Now, I can search for anything on the internet.
I don’t even need to ask the useless goddess since I can look up whatever I don’t understand. Dealing with her annoying antics is a hassle, so I don’t even have to contact her anymore…
“Welcome back! Mikarin!”
In the living room stood a stranger—a woman with blonde hair, wearing a white outfit, and sporting white wings on her back.
…Given her appearance and the fact that she called me Mikarin, could it be…
“Useless goddess…?”
“YES! Your useless goddess-chan is here★”
“What are you doing here…?”
“I came to visit! And I brought a souvenir!”
