The Second Salvation Myth of a Retired Regressed Hero

Chapter 51 - The First Expedition 3

“Hello there!”

The new team’s cheerful leader greeted Doyun and Sophie.

Her energetic gestures caused her ample chest to sway enticingly.

“I’m Leona, the team leader. I fulfill the ranger position!”

“Pleased to meet you. I’m Han Doyun.”

“Sophie.”

“Wow, a handsome guy and beautiful lady joining side by side! The atmosphere is going to be so vibrant!”

Sophie smiled faintly at the amiable woman’s words.

The team leader Leona had a cute appearance and an affable older sister-like aura about her.

Yet simultaneously, she possessed a soft, supple physique similar to Sophie’s, along with a sensual, curvaceous figure.

As a ranger, her waist was slim, but her hips were wide and plump below, while her exceptionally soft, bouncy chest frequently swayed with her lively movements.

Next were introductions with the team members.

“Kaperman here. I’m the team’s tank. Nice to meet you.”

“Um… Yejin. The healer…”

“Jillaine. Rear combat mage. Heheh… Pleased to meet you?”

“Pleased to meet you all.”

“Nice to meet you…!”

Doyun and Sophie exchanged greetings with the sturdy tank, female healer, and female mage.

The tank Kaperman had a rugged face and physique contrasting his gentle demeanor, giving an overall dependable impression.

The healer Yejin seemed severely introverted, yet she furtively glanced at Doyun’s face here and there amidst her shyness.

And… through his keen senses, Doyun could feel Yejin’s nether regions twitching whenever she looked at him.

The mage Jillaine had heavy makeup and an exceptionally large bosom. And either lacking undergarments or simply not wearing any, her nipples protruded quite noticeably through the slightly parted front of her robe.

“Fufun~”

After shaking Doyun’s hand, Jillaine openly ogled him with a sultry gaze, lewdly licking her lips with her obscene tongue.

Finally, Doyun extended his hand towards the vanguard swordsman.

“Chiwoomen.”

“…Pleased to meet you.”

That was it. Without shaking hands, Chiwoomen turned away and returned to his spot.

Sensing Chiwoomen’s unfriendly gaze, Doyun withdrew his hand.

It seemed the one Millaine had mentioned would be giving him the cold shoulder had appeared.

After the introductions, Doyun surveyed the team – ranger, tank, swordsman, healer, mage – a balanced five-member party composition.

“I heard you’re our juniors. Since we’re on the same team now, can I speak casually?”

“Of course.”

“Heh. It’s so refreshing! Our team has been together for so long, using honorifics felt a bit stifling. You guys can speak casually too!”

“But shouldn’t the newcomers still be respectful? I won’t decline being called ‘Noona.'”

“Ah, so poised and refined. Have you worked in society before? That’s a relief! Fresh Cradle grads often have too strong personalities, making things difficult. I’m glad we have mature ones like you joining. Heh.”

Leona punctuated her words by tapping the ground with her toes, her soft chest subtly swaying with the motion.

However, a chilly voice from the side disrupted the friendly atmosphere.

“If the senior tells you to be casual, why are you being so long-winded about it?”

Leona’s expression hardened as Sophie turned with widened eyes towards the sudden chill.

It was the swordsman Chiwoomen, who had previously given Doyun an unpleasant look too.

Taken aback by the unprovoked coldness, before Sophie could react, Leona replied with a playful tone,

“Oh ho. Our Chiwoomen is going through puberty again.”

“Ah geez…! I told you not to call me that!”

“Why not? You seemed to enjoy it when I did before.”

“Whe, when did I ever!”

“Look at your blushing face. Trying to save face in front of the newbies, huh? Alright, alright.”

“Hey!”

“Heh.”

Seeing Leona’s pretty, teasing smile, Chiwoomen opened his mouth to retort but closed it again, quickly turning his back to hide his oddly flushed face.

With Leona’s flowing demeanor, the atmosphere smoothly defused before it could even stiffen.

She addressed Doyun and Sophie again,

“Since you two are the juniors here for training, feel free to ask anything! My team members are all nice people who will answer kindly. Kaperman and Jillaine especially know a lot!”

“Yes.”

Leona smiled faintly – she seemed quite the smiley person.

Leona was someone close to Eloah and Millaine, trusted by them both.

Like Eloah, she firmly believed in the principle of ‘the guild being one family.’

Hence, Leona had no qualms about newcomer orientations either. This team’s selection was largely due to it being Leona’s.

“Don’t worry about making mistakes. That’s how we all learn, after all.”

“Yes.”

“Shall we depart? I’ll provide additional briefings on the way – we have quite the journey ahead!”

And so, one by one, the team members began boarding the carriage.

But as Doyun turned to follow, Chiwoomen approached and murmured gruffly to him,

“On the battlefield, even small mistakes can lead to annihilation. Don’t let Leona’s words make you lax.”

Doyun suppressed the laughter threatening to burst out and simply nodded silently – the idea of Chiwoomen lecturing him about battlefields seemed like a joke.

However, Sophie, who had overheard Chiwoomen’s words with her keen senses, looked quite vexed on Doyun’s behalf at his mistreatment.

But then, Leona suddenly popped up between Doyun and Chiwoomen just as they thought she had boarded the carriage.

“Woah!”

“Ack!”

Barely avoiding a startled fall, Chiwoomen flailed his arms desperately to regain his balance.

“Damn… bit my tongue!”

Befitting a ranger, Leona’s movements had been nimble and stealthy. Clearly, her skills surpassed Chiwoomen’s.

“Is our Chiwoomen acting up again?”

“Ah, what… Just get on already.”

Leona firmly grasped Chiwoomen’s cheek, shaking it. Chiwoomen flinched initially but merely averted his gaze, passively accepting her treatment.

“We all went through this kind of training! It’s our duty as guild members! These are even disciples personally entrusted to us by the Master herself.”

“…Not me. I was a veteran scout recruit.”

“Oh right, Mr. Hotshot. Want me to spank that ass and make you listen?”

“Ah, alright already…”

Leona smiled faintly as she released him. Chiwoomen’s reluctant gaze lingered on her hand briefly.

Inwardly admiring her deft handling of the troublemaker, Sophie keenly observed Leona’s methods.

“Heh. But I know you’ll still do your best in the end. You always do, after all.”

“Ah, whatever… Just get on the carriage already.”

Chiwoomen grumbled with a flushed face.

Through their senses, Doyun and Sophie could feel Chiwoomen’s heart rate quickening. No, even without that, the situation was easily discernible.

‘How adorable.’

The youthful infatuation was quite charming. The only pity was that it seemed to be Chiwoomen’s one-sided crush, as Leona simply treated everyone affectionately like that by nature.

‘Or perhaps not entirely.’

After observing them briefly, Doyun could discern deeper undercurrents.

Highly adept at managing interpersonal dynamics as a leader, Leona seemed aware of Chiwoomen’s feelings and was deftly handling him appropriately – exemplary leadership skills.

After that seemingly routine bout of shenanigans within the team, the carriage finally departed for the central warp portal in the capital.

They changed carriages at each successive warp gate while receiving thorough courtesies at the checkpoints – letting Doyun glimpse the World Tree’s esteemed stature, all thanks to Eloah’s efforts.

“You all should be well-versed in the general mission details, but let me reiterate!”

As the briefing commenced, Doyun became lost in thought.

Exceedingly rare locations overflowing with spiritual or mana energy existed in this world.

Such prime spots held immense utility value – Enoch had primarily used them as mana cultivation grounds. Their current destination had been one such place.

Enoch had utilized it as a personal mana training spot while also installing a warehouse to store alchemical medicines from Războlnic’s legacy.

‘But for mana to have been detected there for 70 years…’

It was an utterly baffling phenomenon. Just what could have occurred?

As the carriage journeyed onwards, Doyun racked his brain pondering that anomaly.
