The seeds we plant

Chapter 15: Chapter 6- Witches don't stand a chance against monsters!

Natasha's POV:

For some reason my teacher's expression became tense, when the puppies came out of her shadow she stared at them and frowned sadly, I guess there was some kind of conversation between them, but I couldn't hear anything. Perhaps noticing me, she crouched down until our eyes were at the same level and began to stroke my head as if trying to comfort me.

- Forgive me for putting on that expression out of nowhere, I guess I worried you.

- Huh? Could you notice it?

- Yes, your whole face is tinted with worry.

I quickly turned my head to the mirror in the room hoping to see some expression on my face, but there was only the same expressionless face as always. I couldn't help but be disappointed when I realized that my expression hadn't changed at all. For some reason my teacher began to laugh in a barely concealed manner.

- Pfff... Come on, you don't have to be disappointed like that... pfff.

- Liar! You said my face was tinted with worry but it hasn't changed one bit!

- Come on girl, you don't have to be like that.

Still laughing at me, my teacher rubs my head as if to divert my attention. I really can't help but feel like I'm being made fun of here. Even though I can't feel anything, the disgust of being teased by my teacher so blatantly makes me not want to see her face. I turn my head while closing my eyes so as not to see her.

- My teacher is really a liar, there's no way you can see the feelings of a monster.

- A monster?

- Yes... a monster.

As if the conversation froze, no one says anything while I keep my eyes closed so as not to see my teacher. After a while, she continues her caresses more slowly. Without knowing exactly what was happening, I open my eyes only to find my teacher looking at me gently. I don't like her looking at me like that, because a monster should instill fear in people, not receive looks of tenderness. I change my gaze to a more intimidating one as my teacher stares at me. My teacher jumps slightly as she lets out a shriek. Ever since I got here, my teacher lets out a shriek if I stare at her like this. This strange hobby was what saved me from boredom before the teacher started teaching me how to read. A hobby worthy of a monster if I may say so. Yes, that's exactly what I was referring to. After a few seconds of recovering, my teacher faces my gaze again.

- I'm sure you must have some reason to call yourself a monster but after spending this time with you I can tell you that from my point of view, you are not a monster.

- … no? Even though you freak out every time we meet eyes?

- Guuu

A slight sound of pain comes out of my teacher as she gets down on her knees. For some reason her entire face turns red as she covers her face in an attempt to hide it.

- I thought you hadn't noticed…

"Despite being the feared beast witch, I can't really say that my master is intimidating… it really seems like witches don't stand a chance against monsters."

I involuntarily puff out my chest in pride at my victory over the beast witch.

- It's not entirely true, I only looked away 3 times today.

"My injured master really can't accept defeat."

I can't help but sigh at my depressed master.

- Anyway, we're off topic.

As if trying to regain her dignity, she abruptly changes the subject.

- As I was saying, you're not a monster, just a little witch in training. So I don't want you to torment yourself with that.

- …Master, your words lack deterrent power.

Another groan from my pathetic master reverberates through the air. She even seems like she's about to cry out of shame.

- By the way, we have to leave tomorrow, so we're leaving early. I'll call a meeting.

- Huh? A meeting?

Without answering my questions, my devastated teacher leaves the room. Even though her sobs can be heard, she goes out the door and disappears in no time. However, the curiosity I have about the meeting has not been resolved in the slightest. This strange discomfort I feel in my stomach produces a sensation very similar to anger. It seems that my teacher has completely forgotten that one should not play with monsters in that way. That night many screams were heard until dawn came.
