The Sevpons

Chapter 4: Awakening

That evening, the group ventured into the jungle together, searching for any clues that could lead them to their next discovery. As they split up to cover more ground, Ryu made his way toward the hidden entrance to a cave he had discovered earlier. As he approached the entrance, he overheard voices coming from inside.

"Hurry, fools! Do it quickly. I need that Weapon of destruction," a deep voice ordered.

"Sir, the guards have tied up the kids," another voice reported.

"With their blood, the weapon will awaken. It will unleash its power of destruction," the first voice continued, filled with urgency.

"Sir, the stone is about to break," a third voice said, sounding anxious.

"Finally, the time has come," the first voice replied, filled with excitement.

The stone within the cave cracked open, but to their shock, there was nothing inside.

"No! Where is the weapon? Where is it?" the first voice roared in frustration.

"What about the kids, sir?" the third voice asked.

"Kill them all," the first voice commanded furiously.

Suddenly, Ryu lost his footing and tumbled into the cave.

"Catch him!" the second person shouted, noticing Ryu's fall.

Ryu quickly drew his sword as the enemy approached. With swift, practiced movements, he dodged an attack and slashed the neck of one assailant.

"Kill him!" the first voice barked.

More enemies rushed toward him, but Ryu executed a flawless backflip, throwing his sword and striking another attacker down. He retrieved his weapon and faced two more enemies. The first one fell to his sword, but the second captured him and threw his sword out of reach.

"Stop! Don't kill him—he has the weapon!" the first voice called out urgently.

"Let them go," Ryu demanded fiercely.

The first person, now revealing himself, stepped forward. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Lei."

"Did I ask for your name?" Ryu retorted, his eyes narrowing.

Lei smirked. "I want the weapon hidden inside your body."

"I don't have any weapon," Ryu responded, confusion flashing in his eyes.

"Let's check," Lei said, his tone growing colder.

With a wave of his hand, Lei used his magic to pull the weapon out of Ryu's body. It materialized as a sword with a blue handle, a green gem embedded in it, and a silver blade adorned with black fire-like designs.

"It's a sword," Lei muttered, his eyes glinting with satisfaction.

One of Lei's men entered and said, "Sir, three kids are searching for something here. They might be looking for him."

"Knock them unconscious and tie them up with the others," Lei ordered.

"No, let everyone go!" Ryu shouted, struggling against his restraints.

"Shut him up, too," Lei ordered, his voice cold. "Tie him up as well. Let him watch as everyone dies."

A guard placed a cloth over Ryu's mouth, silencing him, before binding him along with the others. Not long after, the guards brought Kai, Jin, and Wei into the cave, all unconscious.

Meanwhile, Tony was approaching the cave, his thoughts focused on his missing friends.

"Ryu's bow and arrow... is he inside the cave?" Tony muttered to himself, spotting the familiar weapon.

Suddenly, he overheard Lei's voice. "With your blood, the power will awaken—the power of destruction. The power of the sword."

Tony clenched his fists. He couldn't let this happen. He silently entered the cave, determined to do something.

"I can't let them die," Tony whispered to himself, pulling out his bow and silently cutting through the ropes that bound Ryu.

Lei turned, shocked at the unexpected disruption. "Who was that? Search for him!" Lei ordered.

As the guards scrambled to find Tony, he picked them off one by one, moving silently through the shadows. With each guard that fell, Ryu slowly regained consciousness. He kicked Lei's leg out from under him, knocking him to the ground.

Tony drew his blades, using his chained weapon to kill the guards and free his friends. Ryu grabbed the legendary sword, now fully awake, and joined the fight. Together, they took on the remaining guards.

Lei recovered and teleported behind Ryu, kicking him down. But before he could strike again, Tony shot him with an arrow, sending it straight into Lei's head, killing him instantly.

"What about the prisoners?" Tony asked, turning to Ryu.

"We're getting them out," Ryu replied, his tone resolute.

"What about our friends?" Tony asked, concerned.

"We'll get them out last," Ryu said, motioning for Tony to continue.

They worked together, carefully freeing the remaining prisoners from the cave. But when only five prisoners were left, disaster struck. Ryu slipped on a rock, and the Legendary Sword flew from his hands, landing near the campfire. He rushed to retrieve it, but as he did, the fire flared up unexpectedly. The sword began to crack and break apart, its magic destabilizing.

The sword exploded in a burst of energy, throwing Ryu to the ground.

When Ryu regained consciousness, he found himself in a hospital room, blinking at the bright lights above him.

"Good morning," a familiar voice greeted.

"Master Feng," Ryu said, trying to sit up but feeling dizzy.

"Relax," Master Feng said, his tone gentle. "Stay in bed. I'm grateful for what you all did."

"Why?" Kai asked, still trying to process everything.

"You saved those kids and took down an impostor from the agency. I'm proud of all of you," Master Feng explained.

"We did what?" Jin asked, confused.

"I'll explain everything tomorrow," Ryu assured them, his mind still racing.

"Sir, what's the date today?" Tony asked.

"April 23rd," Master Feng replied.

"Where's Wei?" Jin asked, looking around.

"He's fine," Master Feng said. "He's practicing for the test next week."

"What happened to the cave and the weapon?" Kai asked.

"The cave collapsed and sealed itself," Master Feng replied. "As for the weapon, no one knows if it was ever real or not."

"When will we be discharged?" Tony asked.

"Tomorrow, if you're feeling better. I need to go for a meeting now," Master Feng said, then left the room.

After he left, Jin turned to Ryu. "Now, tell us everything that happened."

Ryu and Tony recounted the entire event—the battle, the mysterious sword, and the explosion.

A week later, on April 30th, they gathered together, ready for their next challenge.

"This time, there are no enemies and no groups," Master Feng announced. "Just obstacles, and you'll be on your own. But you may help each other if you wish."

"Any questions?" he added.

One boy raised his hand. "Sir, what happens if someone falls from an obstacle?"

"You start over from the checkpoint you passed or from the beginning," Master Feng explained.

"Ready to lose again?" Wei said with a grin.

"Let's see who wins this time," Ryu responded, his competitive spirit already flaring.

"I won last time," Wei said, his confidence evident.

"That was because you were alone with fewer enemies," Jin replied, crossing his arms.

"We're all equal now," Kai chimed in. "Let's see who wins."

"Ready? Three, two, one... go!" The referee's voice rang out, and the race began.

Wei shot off like a cheetah, his speed unmatched by the others. While they struggled to keep up, he reached the finish line with ease, leaving everyone behind.

"29 seconds! You're fast, buddy!" Jin said, wide-eyed.

"Thank you, Jin," Wei said with a cocky grin.

"I'm sure he cheated," Tony muttered, suspicion in his voice.

"Or maybe he paid for it," Kai added, still skeptical.

"I appreciate his speed," Ryu said, smiling at Wei's impressive time.

"Cheater," Kai muttered under his breath.
